Thank you so much for this video. I have tried and tried to clean in that area several times when cleaning the filters but couldn’t get back in there. I cleaned today and my husband was getting ready to take the whole unit apart until I found this video. Was able to pull the vents out and clean out the nastiness (we bought the house four years ago and I don’t think anyone had cleaned them since they were new). Now I can breathe without worrying about getting lung cancer - LOL.
I had such a hard time doing this, even with your video. Ended up being able to fit a swiffer duster in between the games! I appreciate you taking the time to make this though!
God, I finally got mine. It was so unbelievably tight, I had to use pliers to grab the tab because my fingers couldn't get inside, and by the time I got it open, the little nub had been basically obliterated by the screwdriver. Absolutely disgraceful design on these things.
Thanks so much for the trick in getting those open. I had exactly the same experience with other videos and was concerned about breaking something if I pulled too hard.
I'm going to see if I can do it just by the narrative, but it would have been better if we could see what you were doing. I understand you were filming and working at the same time. At the very least, I now know that they actually DO open up. I don't know how else I would have cleaned behind that nastiness!
God this is a nightmare. Still can't get it. Any reason you can't cut the little u shaped plastic part you have to slip the screwdriver over? Seems like it could still clip in firmly without it.
Thanks very much!!! Saw the other video and the tabs holding the clips must have been cut or not there. I did not want to cut these but thought no way this is coming out if I don't. Lots of time wasted and looking for video 's that explained this. Thank you again Jon for making this video!!!
i recorded this a month ago, but didn't get around to editing it until your post, so squeaky wheel gets the grease th-cam.com/video/I8FhEmyhZL8/w-d-xo.html

Thank you so much! All other videos make it look easy, "just grab the tabs and pull". I struggled for ages until I found your clip, much appreciated!
Holy crap, I spent a good half hour trying to get it open up, but finally gave up. Thanks for making this video!!

I found other videos on cleaning these but none of them explained this step. Huge help! Thank you kind sir!
Thank you so much! I was struggling with this and thought I was going crazy!
Good job 👍
Thank you so much! I didn't even know the grill opened up until I saw your video.
Thank you!!! I also have been searching videos, and they all made it look so simple to open.

Thank you. Best video on this.
Found this really really hard. Somehow my wife figured it out as this video missed how to do it as the camera shot missed it.
Dude! THANK YOU!
Thank you so much for sharing this! I finally got mine open after struggling for a while lol

Big thank you for this video!!! Much appreciated!
Thank you!!
Dude THANK YOU this was driving me insane
I fix things for a living and could not figure this one out lol. Thanks!
I have to laugh. The video is a little crazy going into and out of the target.
But you saved my afternoon! Great job!!
Thanks! Yeah, it was pretty hard to do while holding my phone with one hand, glad it worked for you!
Thank you so much!! I had given up and was using coil cleaner from the top.
thanks for sharing! found out that using hair dryer to heat up the plastic can soften the clip
Thank you so much!!!

That's great, but we could not see exactly how to do it.

Yeah, it's a huge pain! I don't know if that would work, make sure you tug it pretty good, it still not easy after putting the screwdriver there.
Still trying to get mine open. I couldn't see exactly how you did it - Would love to see another video! So afraid I'll break it!
I made another one, please check it out!

's that explained this. Thank you again Jon for making this video!!!
Im not seen enithing
My god man, is there nobody in the house who could hold the camera? Do you have no friends? Doing the thing OFF-CAMERA is not particularly helpful.
You what they say about good deeds, they never go unpunished.
Go make your own video
Might do, might do.
