Here we are in the Exuma Cays Land and Sea Park on the main island Warderick Wells. The name comes from the many small caves with sweet water. Already the old pirates used them. We also carried a lot of gallons to our sailboat. At the island there are several mooring fields. But with shallow draft we can anchor in front of a beautiful beach, called Loyalist beach. Because after the U.S. indendancy many loyalist flew to the Bahamas. You can visit a few ruins on Warderick Wells. When the wind is coming from the south, we change place to Beryls beach on the other side. There are many nice marked trails all over the island to other beaches and viewpoints like “Booboo Hill” or the blowholes behind. Opposite the park office there is a nice coralgarden, where you can only snorcle at exact high or low tide. Several times we saw majestic eagle rays.
--- I am sailing with my Gemini 105MC catamaran NIRVANA every year to the central Bahamas, the island chain of the Exumas. In the summer hurricane season I leave my boat in Florida in the Indiantown Marina near Lake Okeechobee and fly home to Germany.

When I was a kid in the 1970s, I believe the Sierra Club ran ads on TV. I'm paraphrasing, but I believe the voice over said, if there's magic on this planet, it's contained in water: enough said.
