I have been watching you for years, you truly seem to be a up front and honest guy. Not at all what you'd expect from a dealer/ broker. I would absolutely use your services to buy a cat.
Thank you kindly. AN ANCESTOR WAS A DUTCH SHIP CAPTAIN IN THE 1600'S WHO REGULARLY SAILED TO THEIR COLONY IN BATAVIA AND WHO BROKE THE SAILING TIME RECORD. THEY USED TO WEAR GOATEES IN THE SHAPE OF AN ANCHOR TO ADVERTISE THE FACT THAT THEY SAILED HALF WAY AROUND THE WORLD (WHICH IN THOSE DAYS WAS QUITE A FEAT). SO, I'M CARRYING ON THEIR TRADITION.
Hola Gary! Always great information, thank you for the update! We are headed to the Annapolis boat show in October on informational scouting trip. Should be fun but we are Still 2 years out before seriously looking begins. All the best Dave and Kim
So I just bought an FP Salina 48 with no experience at all and I was able to get insurance. I of course cannot operate the boat but you can hire a training captain like Premium Captains out of Fort Lauderdale and they'll train you to operate the boat in a week and sign off that you are able to operate the bit safely. We are also taking all the ASA classed needed, but my point is that it's possible to get insurance even if you have no experience at all.
@@jimanderson2518 it would be my pleasure. Hugo Hamnham of Hanham Insurance agency, great guy and broker, he came highly recommended and I can see why.
Gary, thank you for the advice! I'm a few years away from my purchase, but I hope you or one of your partners will be helping with my purchase. Any perosanl recommendations on which sailing school to go to, to complete the courses necessary for a lower insurance rate? Hope you had a great Labor Day weekend!
We completed our 101 - 114 certifications in July in Grenada with LTD Sailing and it was great, I'd highly recommend. We had Capt. Andy and he was awesome to work with. Best of luck!
I dont know if this channel is still active, but if you are able to put down say 50% on a yacht, but have say a 690 credit score, does that tend to expand your loan opportunities? Edit: You might want to fix your website, I can't imagine having a broken search page helps your advertisement abilities
Every situation is a bit different but all cash appeals to most experienced sellers who have suffered under lenders' demands that delay closings by a week on average...I do know of one source of loans based on equity after you take title
Well, they have a wide selection of ancillary equipment and seminars there so it may be worth the time. I prefer the last day (Monday) because the crowds are gone and I can see 25 yachts in one day. If you go on the weekend it is "slow-going"!
Hi Gary I am newbie and I want to buy a boat. I would love your help. Can you tell me which is easier to sail catamaran or a mono hulls and which are the differences? I will contact you. When I ready question what % it’s you fee Thx Sonia
I believe this issue is overblown because I sold PARLAY to the owner several months before hurricane Irma severely damaged the yacht (now called PARLAY REVIVAL) featured in the video. I was there when we did a rigging inspection. There was absolutely nothing wrong with the rigging or bulkhead. Any rigger will tell you that if a catamaran endures even a Category 1 (75 mph) hurricane the pressures on the tip of the mast WILL damage the rigging. Irma blew 155 mph on PARLAY! Lagoon has received and paid only 40 claims out of over 1100 boats produced. That's less than 5%. No masts have fallen down as a result of this. I've seen Lagoon give away repair kits even to yachts that were hurricane-damaged even though they didn't have to. This issue can affect some other models. Just rely on your accredited surveyor.
@@Catamarans thanks for your attention, but for those official 5% the issue is very bad in all means. The others will feel the issues’ effect when they try to sell them. Apart from Parlay Revival youtube channel there is a group of 45 owners on Facebook and there are more the 2k followers.

Hi Patrick...Care to share your insurance provider ?

Thanks for sharing this. I was just told by a broker in Seattle that without experience I would not be able to get insurance.
Hey man welcome back!
Hey, thanks! Been busier than a one-armed paperhanger.

Yes LTD in Grenada is a well-run school as well as Bluewater Sailing School of Ft Lauderdale (locations in Florida, Bahamas and BVI)

IT DOESN'T REALLY MATTER HOW MUCH YOU PUT DOWN, FICO SCORES MUST BE AT LEAST 720 THESE DAYS
How much extra negotiating power do you have % of price when buying cash? also, is it a good strategy to buy cash then refinance?

Should I attend the Annapolis Boat Show in October if none of the cats & trimaran I'm interested in will be there?

A monohull is easier to sail but a catamaran is more stable and ore comfortable
What about the Lagoons bulkheads problems, would you recommend buying them yet?
