You know what's sad? This could have been a kickass movie with the right story! Get rid of the kid and the entire "real world" beginning, add more fighting, get rid of the blurry vision thing, add some rich back story to the whole life spring and roo veneration thing, and make the whole movie about trying to reunite the warriors after Young's murder drove them apart. You'd have a good movie then! In the words of Mr. Enter "Nothing is sadder than wasted potential".

And why are Kangaroos associated with martial arts? Us Aussies don't have any native martial arts; Aboriginals used the spear and the club, while European Australians had guns. The only martial arts in Australia come from Asia and Israel (I fucking love Krav Maga).

Right, I completely understand that Chinese is comprised of 4 regional dialects. I was still meaning that, with that in mind. It isn't too big of an issue to go into depth over. It is similar to Peking and Beijing. Or maybe NOT as similar but still that both were accepted as names to the same location. I do see it a lot of time in between German and Spanish. The words have such an eerie resemblance that I almost think it's not a word but a pronunciation in that language.

+Disney freak Tank Girl, Catwoman (antihero admittedly) and Elektra. Oh and if you want to count it, Barb Wire. Those movies were about female heroes, and they are sadly great examples of why female superhero movies are so rare. The people who make them typically create garbage, so companies aren't likely to take their chances very often, even though the material is not the issue. However if it makes you feel better, Wonder Woman is slated to release in 2017.

16:23 This convinced me that Angus MacFadyen was well aware of how stupid this movie was, and the big "YEEEES!" is totally sarcastic.
As much as I love his over-the-top performance in this, I'm so glad he was able to go back to making good movies like "Titus" and "Equilibrium".

I find it hilarious that Critic is watching the Packer/Bear game on 'TV', yet the Packer radio announcers Wayne and Larry are talking. :P

That thing about the medicine wasn't what the chef was actually saying. Those were fake captions added by the NC. The chef was really just reprimanding him.

I don't know about you guys, but I myself would LOVE to see a show with Mr. T, Hulk Hogan, and Bruce Campbell fileing their taxes. Thumbs up if you agree

Believe it or not, there actually was a sequel made.
"No guns. No lasers. NO MORPHING."
In the sequel, the 'roos morphed into Human form. I had to rewind the video to clearly catch that quote. So, as simple as the plots are, they broke rules.

I remember that as a kid. I liked it but felt like something was missing. Now that I'm older I know what it was: Everything

Because they both share the same root language. Latin. same with french, italian, and practically all the European languages. it's basically what you get in a largely disparate group of people as their individual accents evolve over a few thousand years.
If it wasn't for radio, tv, the internet and the fact people travel so much you would see the same thing happen in the US given enough time.

You do have to remember, he's doing this for showmanship too, aside from that we watch him for his humor. You can hardly fault the man for not understanding a culture a world away. We might know the basis, but he doesn't. Hell look at Roger and Ebert, Roger thought Terminator movies were about alien robots, and Ebert could never appreciate videogames as art. To each his own.

I feel like I should point out that in Taoism, it is taught that all life is precious and worthwhile, regardless of whose life it is. For that reason, for taoist monk to take a life, even in self-defense, is considered an insult to the very teachings of taoism itself. Whether this aspect of taoism is explained in the movie or not I can't say, but it is the reason why 'It was a LIFE!' may sound corny and random, when it actually is an issue in the practice of taoism.
