Interesting story I heard: Apparently, Stallone wanted Lundgren to hit him for real. Lundgren (who is a Kyokushin Karate World Champion, by the way) hit him in the chest and caused serious damage, requiring Stallone to go to the hospital. Supposedly the doctors assumed he had been in an auto vehicular collision with a MAC truck! Mr. Dolph Lundgren is the ultimate mix of brain and brawn. Also, much respect for Carl Weathers in light of his recent passing. He was the real thing as well. Since college, he played football, Boxed, Wrestled, and trained in Judo. The man was a true athlete and fighter. I'm not knocking Stallone though. He is tough as nails, bold, and brave as a lion. Anyone who can go up against real martial artists and be willing to take a real punch for the sake of making a film look authentic deserves respect, especially when they aren't career martial artists and/or fighters themselves.
16:08-16:18- If we hate you Rocky, it's for making sequels to Rocky that didn't need to be made, and because of that, you don't like us, almost like "Screw you guys. I'm the champ of the world."
This review is so off, Adrian for one always believed in Rocky until this movie, Apollo going big with James Brown is exactly his character. The robot was the only bad thing that made no sense.
Y'know, as "goofy" as 'Rocky IV' was, at least it wasn't the epic shit-pile that was 'Rocky V.' That one was so bad that it kind of makes me grateful that the series didn't end on that film, and instead we ended up getting decent ones like 'Rocky Balboa' and 'Creed' later on down the road.
Yea my dad Loves the rocky films and even he can't stand Rocky V. I think that says something bout the film. He did enjoy Rocky Balboa though. We haven't gotten around to seeing Creed yet.
Same here. I need to check out Creed sometime as well. I will admit, though, I did get a stupid laugh out of the obvious 'Don King knockoff' character in 'Rocky V,' whose catchphrase line was, "Touch me and I'll sue.'
In 1 she wholly supports him, 2 she has understandable reservations just like Mickey because of his eye damage, 3 she wholly supports him and believes in him even when he doesn't, and 4 she again has understandable reservations because a man just died against this dude.
