I got my first tattoo at 17, it was 1997 (good times) and remember fondly how unique it was to have a tattoo, unless you were a drug dealer, criminal or sailor; I was none of the above and just found them to be expressive and captivating. Hi Tony! I was watching "Swiss Timepieces - Luxury Watch Retailer" and he referenced a new theory with Rolex and purchasing from an AD. He stated that a walk in customer will not be allocated a Rolex if they simply ask if there are any available Rolexes for sale in the back. His theory is that Rolex requires the customer to ask for a specific model from the back and, if available, then the customer may be allocated the watch at that time. It got me thinking when you bought your Wimbledon because you specifically asked for that model and then were offered it from the back. Is this the new way to be able to obtain a Rolex on a walk in basis? Thanks.

Here’s my feeling on producer Michael and anyone who buys watches. Ultimately, it’s a commodity that you buy with your hard earned money. You should be allowed without scrutiny to buy a watch and sell a watch. Doesn’t matter if it’s for cost, under cost, or over cost. This is a free market we are in. I’ve bought plenty of watches I’ve lost my shirt on. No manufacturer ever is upset about that. It’s just part of the deal. With that said, I’ve had to play the AD game. I griped about it for a long time and was on waiting lists. The secret to getting the watches you want , as you have said Tony is make a real relationship with the AD. Go in, stop by, say hello, bring them a small gift, buy maybe something for your wife or SO for their birthday. Show a real interest in them as people. I thought it was ridiculous but it works. I still don’t think anyone should be blacklisted from getting watches though. It goes against a free market which I don’t like. I took your advice Tony and that’s how I got 3 pieces in 3 months I was waiting a year plus for.

I agree with the eBay purchases. I like to touch it, see it and feel it. Also there is no adventure or story of the watch or the journey to get it. Go out and hunt for what you want, travel and enjoy the experience.
He explained inn his video that he was approached by two different AD’s within a week or two to buy those celebration dials. He bought both and kept them for awhile and doesn’t need two. He was selling some watches to purchase something else.
I don’t think eBay open the case back. It’s more of a visual check and more of an authentication of condition of the watch vs the listing photos etc. But I am maybe wrong.

I would not consider someone that bought several different models from an authorized Rolex dealer and kept them for several years and later sold some of them at a loss and couple of watches for a profit. People are allowed to trade their watches but not to go straight from the authorized dealer and straight away into the secondary market. HAVE A GREAT WEEKEND WATCH AMIGO!!!!❤❤❤❤
I’m aware he bought most watches from Happy Jewelers. The Rolex Celebration was purchased last year maybe a year old not years. He got 2 Celebration one from each Rolex AD. Rolex authorized dealers are not going to sell watch models that trade significantly higher than Msrp to people with no purchase history whatsoever. I have spent over $30k USD in the last couple of years with my local authorized dealer. I purchased a Lady Datejust28 a Datejust41 and around $3k in David Yurman jewelry and I want to eventually get a stainless steel Sky Dweller blue dial but I am not going to ask for one yet I feel more purchase history is needed the watch trades for around $7k above Msrp but I will continue to build a relationship and will buy all my watches from them even though I could get them cheaper elsewhere plus I will buy all my gifts from them like birthday presents anniversary gifts and stuff like that I plan on having a lifetime relationship with them and probably my kids will also build a life long relationship with them. IMO, Producer Michael is not a flipper. He has more money than most would know what to do with. So, he doesn't need to "flip" for a profit. If someone (especially a "rich" someone) has watches for a while, then decides to sell a watch later on and makes a profit. That would not make them a flipper. Plus he sold few watches at a loss in that video. Cheers.
As a collector myself and still maintain my Rolex collection, if I had to sell to get something I need or get the latest and greatest Rolex to upgrade my collection I would sell my Rolex. That doesn't mean I'm a flipper. Same goes with cars.
