As always pure gold content🔥 Sir try to make a video on ur bikes, how many bike u've owned till now and how to take care and maintain multiple bikes...if possible This would be great from ur point of view
This panel of riders definitely deserves a place in the Royal Enfield design team. I wish RE media team is watching this and inclined to respect the critics and their heartfelt suggestion.
You are guys absolutely right, RE must take feedback from riders for what problems they face during the ride but they don't and it's a big mistake made by RE, But you guys are hopes of new beginning riders ,thank you so much guys 👍💐 I had Electra 350 RE & I love my bike 🤩
Meteor is product from RE because of Honda Highness... or else RE would be still cheating it’s customers...the day when Honda makes a Highness 650 twins, RE will think upgrading its 650s
Not too sure of that. RE is leading the pack, in India at least. Look at it this way, Honda would never have launched the highness in India if the Classic 350 was not making waves
A very simple suggestion to RE & all the other manufacturers is to employ Service Advisors who have ‘technical/mechanical background’ so that they have a sound understanding of what can be an actual problem.
Your video absolutely made my weekend. I genuinely want to thank the HOST for his time and energy to bring such incredibly real world knowledge oriented videos always. God bless you and all our subscribers!
This video not only brings out the problems in the 650 twins but also some fundamental problems in the RE marketing strategy. There is complete absence of "market research". I did realize this in my recent visit to an RE outlet. The Interceptor 650 is definitely the bike of my choice but the problems that come alongwith it are surely a deterrent. As a result, I have put my purchase on hold as of now ! Thank you guys for putting all of this together and please do strongly voice these concerns to the RE team. I just hope they get the fixes done and do justice to this classic beauty.
Have been using tvs apache 180 for past 5 years. Initially it took time to be habituated on the motorcycle. Did minor changes on seating cushion for long tour. In last 5 years, got very good support from tvs Service center. Every time I go for servicing, after 2 days, I recieve call from tvs regards to servicing. If I am not satisfied, they call the bike back to service center and do whatever is required. No unnecessary expenditure, no push sales. Yes, the bike has its own flaws, but service center support is really great and covers things up.
I have a question i have already booked gt rocked red should i cancel and book meteor????? My purpose will be daily commuting to office 100 k/m and touring on weekends
Correctly pointed out.. And there are other problems like faulty fuel meter, awkward positioning of front and pillion footpegs, smaller capacity of the battery, tyre wobble, list seems endless.. Hope RE listens..
All the issues discussed/faced are absolutely legitimate, the rider who spends so much would not hesitate to pay a little more to get these issues sorted (if it's about the money)..! Ashish is so articulate about the small niggles affecting the reputation of such a great machine, hope Siddhartha Lal is listening..!!!
Thanks for watching buddy. Imagine if it were the other way round. If the maker put his hand up and said we will fix this. Imagine the brand love it would create. It will happen one day. It has to.
Guys, great job of sharing this VOC, I sincerely hope RE pays attention. I have plans of getting myself an Interceptor sometime in the future but was disheartened recently (I understand it's subjective) to see that the new bikes are all coming with black mudguards and rims, except Orange Crush. Having grown-up, learnt to ride in the 90's, I have a fondness for silver/chrome mudguards and rims and I wish RE makes them available for the twins atleast as optional add-ons through their MIY scheme.
Hiya buddy. Thanks for watching. Yes we feel your pain. Suggest check with RE if you can get the parts you need over and above. Some guys have reportedly done the same.
Guuuys I have a GT . Im 6ft 1inch tall . I find all your cons against the GT trivial. Its a CAFE , its more of a purest bike. I don't need all that bells and whistles crap. I love this Bike . Headlight you can change easily enough. If you want to improve the GT Give me full liter version other than that leave it alone !!!
the right video people want about these bikes. You guys are doing a great job. A basic LED headlight is still missing you don't get a DRL and there can be more such points which RE should include.
Exactly the issues I am facing. There's no hazard on option in this 3.5 lakh rupee machine. I'm 25 and really love the classic machines, I'm okay with spokes and halogens. But why they didn't change that bloody hell uncomfortable seat in the new version. And also at night, when I stay roadside, I really miss the hazard.
LONG COMMENT ALERT: I saw this video and the video of Ashish Bahl’s ownership review back-to-back. Thank you for the wholesome content, put across in such a civil, mature manner, covering so many points comprehensively and effortlessly. More miles and more power to you folks. After 10+ years of being pampered by Honda, I decided to bite the bullet and get back to RE. My last RE was a Classic 500 which was delivered by the showroom with a bent swing-arm. That’s another story! It took me one ride on a friend’s Interceptor to say that this would be my next motorcycle. I missed the upright riding stance, and the CBR I was riding was taking a toll on my back. And I was in love with the engine and the hum of the parallel twin. So, I picked up the BS-6 Baker’s Express in January this year and it’s clocked 8,000 km till date. It’s safe to say that I love the motorcycle. But... I realised how much RE has not changed. I discovered the front wobble at 3,000 km on the odo. No one from RE has been responsive enough or interested enough to seriously delve into the problem. I’ve done 5,000 km more with the issue and learnt to live with it. The breaking point for me was when the Authorised Service Centre had the audacity to say “Sir, this is a tyre issue. Please go to Ceat and sort this out.” But I bought an RE bike with Ceat tyres. Not Ceat tyres with RE parts attached. The Ceats on the BS-6 are the tube-type tyres. So, whether I put an Outex or any such aftermarket option or switch to alloys, there are no tubeless tyres available. It’s either Ralco or Timsun, both of which are always out of stock. And whose alloys do I trust? RE was supposed to have released their own long back but there is no news. Every time I go for a long ride, the fact that the bike is not tubeless plays on my mind. And it’s not at all comforting. Yet, despite these issues, I still adore the motorcycle. For that price, it’s certainly bang for the buck. But it’s sad, at least for me, that after all these years, RE is still the same. Find a successful engine platform and then basically become a beauty salon with various cosmetic packages. There is no drive to perfect any of the motorcycles and complaints/suggestions fall on deaf ears. I seemed to have forgotten what drove me away from RE. Unfortunately, the company didn’t take too long to help me remember the horrors. It’s sad that such a great motorcycle is maligned by the company’s apathy towards its customers. I really do hope they change.
Love this content. Hit the nail right on the head. I have been putting off buying an RE for years now because RE has always cut corners in terms of quality and practicality. The warranty void issue is so real that you can't even upgrade but ironically they encourage the custom builders to do it but not their customers. The tube tires are just a crime on this motorcycle and such heavy exhausts and so wide?
Really Thanq for putting out these points 🙏 . RE must see this video and start working on it. If these problem are being shorted out then RE 's 650 twins are the only Indian bike which we Indan are proud of . Thank you ❤️
Yes Steve I agree, it's basically things we would like to see as changes in future but Sir I personally own a Gt 650 few weeks before my back tyre got three punctures 😭 luckily there was a type repair shop near by me. What if it happened in middle of night 😭?? I even don't put any main stand 😭 Rest the bike is supper fun to ride
This discussion was important and justifies right from beginning till end..I also think the same way but not just with RE , unfortunately other manufacturers both 2&4 wheeler are also neglecting customers & customers loyal to a particular brand or model and their feedback or expectations are gradually becoming unimportant to manufacturers. Upgrades bring hope but RE has disappointed us all atleast with regards to utility. Newer Colors options no big deal. Brighter illumination, wobbling issues and better seats are what needs to be addressed first and foremost !
Wonderful and educative session. The bottom line for me as a RE Interceptor 650 owner from this discussion is - "RE Doesn't listen" to its customers. Its a great bike but RE system does not respect its customers as much as it should. Not just the company, even their brand showrooms and workshops don't want to listen to us. The attitude is like they know everything and customers are only there to take it from them. For example, I have a problem with the cams at speeds above 100 KPMH but the service centre keeps saying that there is no issue. They just don't want to look into it or they fear warranty might bite them. I really don't have a issue with posture, seating, etc which many complain as I bought the bike with the awareness of these factors. What bugs me about RE is that their showroom staff is either not equipped to handle technical issues or they simply don't want to spend time on a bike to fix real tech issues we customers face.
Sir, I own INTI-650 for 5 months with 4200 odd km on odo, it's a dream bike ride to date, but all negatives you ppl discussed is very minor issues. So clearly it means no issues on the engine, chassis, ride and parts so its definitely a good build right, so let's not be all negative about the bike or company but some issues like the customer support, knowledge of service engineer and some on electrical switches, tyre and headlight is very easy to fix which company may find a solution at the earliest for their own good I feel. This is my personal small understanding of RE service which is bad definitely at Mysuru and bike on the whole.
These are absolutely spot on issues that kept me away from RE twins. I guess brand complacency and incompetency at ASC level is what needs to be looked upon by RE as a manufacturer. I hope they learn a little from such in-depth , head-on and honest points raised by Ashish and other before its too late. The RE twins are good but they deserve to be one of the best . Cheers to happinessperkm for yet another fabulous and informative discussion.
The warranty rule in Europe and other foreign markets for twins is way more lenient. Moreover, the only way a foreign market consumer can void the warranty, if there is any change in regards to chassis/structure and the engine. The company is not at all transparent, there are potential buyers for this bike, who have booked it in the month of November 2020, still haven't got the delivery, i booked it in Feb'21. No word yet from the manufacturer, except the word from Sales rep "sir, the production itself has not started". RE has restricted its production line upto 2 - 3 models for a Quarter/ half. Their strategy is very opaque, think about it from pune they have about 10 + showrooms with atleast 20 -25 bookings(10k each) from each showroom, think about the interest they have earned for a Quarter. The fact that, these bikes are made to order and RE's aspiration to become a segment leader are two conflicting thoughts. Plus the pandemic lockdowns, soon rainy season will start. No point of taking the bike then. Planning to cancel the booking and wait for the new actual updated iteration.
Glad you guys got together and brought some of these points to light. I cant say i agree with everything you all said but, education, training and the ability to troubleshoot issues for the service center is a must and the alloys should definitely have been out by now. I am in the ncr region and it is frustrating that my local service center does not deliver the level of knowledge and expertise i expect. They need to understand that it is a premium bike and the owner is passionate and attached to it. The chalta hai attitude needs to be fixed!!
totally agree, but i changed all the Halogen lights to LED, installed Simtack Hazard flasher, installed MadDog Aux lights & did many more things no warranty issue to mee till now..
I guess the root problems wrt warranty issues is at the ASC end, and not actually at the company level... claiming 'warranty issues' is probably the easiest way to shirk away from troublesome additional work!
@@happinessperkm I ride a '16 535GT, enjoying "'happiness every km'" for the last 5 years... and RE has actually fulfilled my warranty claims multiple times... what mattered was the right attitude and ability of the ASC rep to comprehend the problem projected by the customer... and such people are not many!
GT650 isn’t a touring bike. 2 mins on it and one can know it. i love the engine of the twins. but my needs are for a comfortable cruiser and meteor350 fits it perfectly. no doubt the engine isn’t powerful enough for me. but i can live with that. i would upgrade (not withstanding the increase in EMI ) if meteor comes with 650 engine
To all the gentlemen, you are giving out true value through your videos. Hats off!! This is the most discussed topic between any REtwin enthusiasts, but such gem of a discussion was truely needed. I hope it will reach to the required people in RE for everyone's sake. And again, please keep it up with such content and we are already happy and blessed to be witnessing this. Also, how Ashish is so deeply involved with his motorcycle is a gold standard for any biker! You have given us hope sir. 😊 Cheers! ✌🏻
Thanks Prathamesh. Humbled by your words. Much appreciated. And the entire team of happinessperkm is like Ashish. Madly passionate about motorcycling and our bikes ✌🏻
Additionally, In the Interceptor 650 the foot pegs are just below the rider... so in stand still condition of traffic the pegs scratch through the calf of the rider!! Very nice video ... Hope RE listens to the riders feedback
While i feel there are some valid complains here.. the beauty of Royal Enfield bikes have always been its easy customisations. You can slapped on any piece of gears and it would still looks good. Why would any company change something if it is selling so well ?
Important video. Hope @royal enfield you watch this and understand what the riders are trying to say. We love the twins but please fix the issues please. It will make the twins even more awesome
RE guys just don't care to be listening to the riders it seems . i own a classic 500 desert storm bs4 and it has a plastic body fuel pump , it's nozzel keeps on breaking and its a common issue in bs4 500s . They seems to have forgotten this bike as it is out of production . without proper feedback its just a matter of time that their output(the bikes) will be out of 'caliberation' withought them knowing it. that will choke this brand to its grave.(i feel light now )..sighs. Still love this brand for waht it 'was'.
I always wanted to be a rider but never did, thanks to my rockstar brother, Ashish Bahl, I'm living it. This is a brilliant episode. Way to go brother and many many more rides for you.❤️ I'm now understanding the bikes better. Thank you happiness perkm, may you keep shining and riding. God bless.
Cmon guys...RE is doing us a favour by providing these beauties under 4 lakhs. These are the best u can find...pls dont compare it to the meteor. These are REAL bikes with parallel twin heart. And GT is a true blooded cafe racer. Yes main stand is a must. Who wants equipment when ur bike rides like a dream. I own a Jawa classic and now im getting a GT soon
I am fairly a new int650 owner and riding has been a bliss till now. The concerns raised by you guys and riders I know are very similar. RE being the undoubted leader in this segment has taken its position for granted which is why there ain't anything fresh on these bike in new models. Honestly, the new color schemes do not justify the twins, specially the interceptor. Thank God they didn't pull off orange crush & baker express. God knows what the RE think tank has in mind. **absolutely agree with the clueless nature of service guys.
@@muthuram1954 Please don't be such a sadist....it gives me butterflies knowing that I will be ownings this beauty in a while..... intezar ka fal mitha hota hai buddy ;-)
Great content...you guys have explained most of the issues we face in RE Twins...I too have this twin and trying to sortout issues by educating the service executives by explaining them how to address the issues, how to troubleshoot the bike...even how to handle the bike when they repair the bikes...they are handling the bikes very carelessly... sometimes they even make some scratches too and giving a stupid reason usually this happens in service sir..RE should improve a lot to give a quality and damage free service for their bikes
Ashish - you are a marketeer, me as a sales guy - Joh bik Raha hai, why change it - change will increase the price - sales may drop - my boss shall start flogging my arse for numbers (now he just hits it with a scale) - jokes apart - the common funda that is the norm is - IF IT IS SELLING, DO NOT FIX IT!! - You know it, I know it (we have spent some years together) - on the other hand - I liked the comment on the modding part - its a fantastic option - RE should have had all the possible mods available at their showroom to mod the bike - are the deaf not to hear the cash registers clanging!! We all know margins on accessories is huge - just imagine, ex showroom cost 2.5L, average mod cost per bike sold 30K (just a figure / could be much higher if managed well) - Sid Lal would go deaf as the cash registers would be making so much noise!!!
Bravo. Now sales VS marketing - it’s all in the same boat. The twins are fab and if these niggles are fixed they can be legends. Already lots of guys are put off by the wobbles etc. Leadership is the ask here by RE. Show it that Indian brands and manufactures can be the best and they can be. Thanks for watching buddy
It's pretty simple the way I see it. Sales is happening and therefore there is no reason to change anything in the mix. Vis-a-vis we need to keep the sales up AND blaze a path.
I was interested in hearing real problems. But sadly, I have to say I think the points made in this video while quite valid, were more specifically personal gripes and complaints that don’t really reflect the quality of the bike what so ever. I don’t think a bike is lower quality due to tube tyres, or that the bike is any less because doesn’t include the new Tripper pod. Or that the tyres are wider or narrower. Or that you buy a cafe racer but complain about the comfort, but blame the name of it being misleading. I’ll agree a GT should be comfortable. But it’s not difficult to see that this GT would not be comfortable. I’m sorry, but this feels like a bunch of guys just having a big sook.
@@happinessperkm thanks guys. Enjoy the bikes for what they are. This is what the manufacturer has given us. There’s no point in complaining that yours doesn’t comes with a tripper or wider tyres or different handlebars, and so.
Great discussion guys. Thank you. I had to take my Interceptor in to fix an electrical problem (temperamental starting) and it needed a new relay. I have made several modifications and this didn’t raise an eyebrow in regards to voiding the warranty. Not sure if there are different warranty safeguards in the UK though.
I have few changes that I noticed and would like to recommend and them in the next version release of Twins 1. I don't know how many of you use this bike for daily commute in rush hours. The heating issue is so high that I feel my legs will become barbecue. Need to see liquid cooled technology in the bike. 2. This is my perspective that black finish on the engine would eliminate unwanted rusting issues. It is very difficult to reach out to small places at the engine to Wipeout water after a wash. If water stays at a place for over a long period of time then it is bound to rust. 3. Better design of so called touring seat, people with body mass close to 100kgs can't ride beyond 40 kms at a stretch. 4. I dont understand the intentions behind promoting customization for twins, might be for pricing issues but RE should understand that the other manufactures are giving maximum necessary accessories as stock. I feel engine and leg gaurds, full stand etc., these should be part of the bike and not an extra accessory. It looks like RE doesn't care for rider's safety and 2.5L worth engine's safety. 5. Best rear suspension, bike with this class and name has the most poor suspension sets. We need better performing suspensions which is steady and sturdy. I want RE to test ride other brand bikes in the same segment and bring out a solution. 6. Stock silencers are of 5 kgs each. after market silencers with DB killers are maximum of weight 2kgs each. Reducing the weight of these 10kgs bumbells would give an extra mile for a long distance rides. 7. As the bike cruises at a speed close to 150kms/hr the handle stabilizer should be added. Which is safe for riders. With the bad tyres given to twins, RE should have thought about this. If not as stock at least as recommended accessory. 8. Pillion footpegs are placed so high and back that the Pillion rider should literally squat. Very bad ergonomics. All that I see is customer satisfaction is a myth for twins owners. Other manufacturers are capturing RE customers by learning on the mistakes that RE is doing . I know with all these upgrades added to the bike, will increase the price of the bike and sales might go down. But it's the pricing team of RE to figure out the trick and come up with these upgrades for a competitive price. Which Twins are always appreciated for. We also need these accessories for old twins Owners/Customers as well. Safety of the rider and the bike should be the top most priority. Sir I feel your content is the most reliable content for an enthusiastic and passionate rider like me. Thank you 😊
@@happinessperkm looking at these problems I am thinking that I have to sell my interceptor and go for triumph street twin. Because it is always good to have alloy wheels for such an heavy bike like interceptor....
Really depends on your preference. If u like the twins. Getting a tubeless set and rims will be far cheaper than a ST. And for touring alloys have their own share of quirks. Spoked tubeless is what we prefer
I also agree with the logic that says if the company charges 5-10k more and gives the customers an option to upgrade the headlamp then that would be great and wouldn't cost the company a lot.
I own Avenger 220, 2014 model. It's a bit sad that avenger is overlooked by you people, I know that it is a smaller engine and can't outperform these mid range bikes. But when it's about covering kilometers, it is a great machine. I have covered 36000 km on this and it has covered 800 km in a day on some of my trips. It would be great if you can cover this segment also, people should know about this too.
@@happinessperkm I don't know any group. I mostly travel solo, being a student the rides are no so frequent but yeah avenger has been a great experience. We can connect if you want to know some of my experiences.
1st one minute of this Video was eye catching.. 👌.. they were almost standing still like statue.. Awesome.. Direction apart.. Very well explained the differences RE doing with these bikes.. please update them RE.. please listen to them..
and i would advice to read the book. indian icon a cult called royal enfield. it will help understand the mentality of the company. from that i deduced that the company needed a best seller 650 werent that. thats why they have shifter focus back to upgrading their main sellers 350.
It's a brilliant episode, I always love the content of the channel, those real world problems are very real , BUT Manufacturer should acknowledge them and address it in there coming upgrades. Point made on warty void , so typical , In Bangalore I faced the problem when we had the handlebar risers , Perhaps we taken out the risers, but still are not able to solve friend will wobbling issue.
Yup absolutely my bike is running because of rohit kaushik, and nitin.. bhot are very very helpful and have fixed many issues in my interceptor... and I saw your bike being there with the same complain that it doesn't go beyond 130ish..
Love this episode. You can tell it's coming from a place of passion and love for the Twins. RE sales/service is maddeningly frustrating. At least in Gurgaon/NCR, you can tell everyone is steeped in the old ways of working on the Classic/Bullet. The "chalta hai" attitude is pervasive. Maybe RE needs to explore a Nexa or Big Wing system for their halo products. Also, my god, releasing the Meteor and not flowing that tech into the Twins, DESPITE updating the Himalayan shortly after, is unconscionable. The only thing that explains this would be a full refresh of the Twins later in the year, maybe along with the cruiser/bobber. But then that's just poor form to leave the Twins more or less unchanged for this long. Another major issue that drives me up the wall is the small tank. I don't care about good mileage or bad, but I really don't understand what the Interceptor is supposed to do with 13-odd litres. Was RE not expecting people to tour on this machine when the whole brand is built around that *TRIP* philosophy? OTOH, I think the gripes re: touring on the Conti are a bit silly. Whatever the name might stand for, aankh bhi toh hain! If you're looking at a cafe racer with clip ons and quasi-rearsets and your first thought is touring, then... 🤷♂️ FWIW, the GT nomenclature has been abused across two and four wheels for years now, it's basically shorthand for sporty. No one is buying Ford GTs for cross country driving and then complaining about a misleading name.
Very nice that this discussion video has come out... Though it's not a manufacturer bashing video, I want to say RE is a company that totally lacks attitude. A simple thing we can notice.. the buses carrying their employees to and from their Chennai factory , are the most polluting in that whole stretch... Very eye catching colored buses Spewing black smoke... This reflects in every aspect of RE. And all this lack when they are market leader 🤷🏻♂️
RE Continental GT was first launched with the same name in 1960s. It was always a cafe racer and RE will obviously not introduce another handle-bar option with it. With all respect to each rider in the video, you want to change the bike to your personal preference,. that is not considered as a "Issue" with the bike. That is a personal choice. I do agree with the point that the twins lack an upgrade in terms of alloy wheel, or bt tripper navigation
Starting with good part, I got call from RE R&D department the call duration was more than 1 Hour, they asked me everything about my experience of GT and what I would like to have in the machine, moving to bad part, then 2021 variants came and nothing was new/improved except colors! Really!!!! I do not aligned with personal issues of Shreyansh and Mr. Berry (no offense brothers 🙏) they are confused, buying a cafe racer and trying to do long tours... sorry, it's not RE issue. GT is intended for short rides, if your rear and shoulders are strong please take it to tour and not complained about it 😉
Delighted to know that you got a call. Some others did as well. If the calls were an exercise to make a diff in the product then we should have seen it by now. And Live n let live. Let all ride their bikes as they deem fit. It’s a very personal thing a motorcycle. Live and let live buddy.
@rahul - I am well aware about the usage of a GT and my reason to change the handlebar was not to make it touring friendly but to change the form of the motorcycle from a cafe to a brat because last year I had bought a Thruxton R and there was no need for another cafe racer. My main issues as I mentioned in the video are - unavailability of spares. - r18 rims - absence of a center stand in the GT despite it being pricier than the INT. Etc. the demand for an upper t clamp may be personal to me but other things are not.
@@sumitberry14 Unavailability of spares is an issue, I have dealt it with too 😬 My guess, they want to make GT light for performance by not putting a central stand, as GT's are more for performance. Although, I got installed on mine from RESC for the reason of repairing tyre if it get flat on a bad day and offcourse it make bike maintenance easy. Thanks for putting most of common issues in one video HPK team.
Hi Rahul, Thanks for your comment, the point I raised was related to the riding triangle and under thigh support, as you know I am tall and heavy built guy and because of this under thigh support is must... I know many fellow GT riders who has ridden GT for more then 20,000 kms and most of them was long tours so we cannot say that it's not a Touring bike. My point was, their has to be some update in terms of touring seat which should be wide enough for better support on long tours. I hope I am able to explain my point now somehow it got missed in the video.
Completed 2 Years and 13,000KM's on my Interceptor 650. It seems the issues discussed in this video are the collectives of each and every owner/riders facing on Twins. Ofcourse there's no doubt that Twins comes in a Package as a Bike in a Price Band currently other brands could not even sell their Twin Cylinder Engine. But as a Customer to RE and a Owner of this Bike, I feel company need to address the issues atleast in the form of Optionals or Upgrades. It's over Two and Half years and Tons of Reviews and Requests made to RE both officially and on Social Media. But they are not coming out with any solution. It's high time for RE to address it and gain confidence of Customers and help Rider's to Tour comfortably.
Top notch quality content. The issues were summed up and put together in a very understandable manner. Hope RE addresses these issues at the earliest. Anyways Great job guys....Liked and Subscribed! Looking forward for more videos
Some critical issues not mentioned here: 1. Rectifier Recharge Unit placed behind engine and near rear wheel which gets damaged and stops charging the battery. 2. Frame corrodes and gets snapped! Serious danger to riders. Must do repeated checks by opening tank section to see if the handle assembly connection to engine frame has been cracked or not, or the rear side where the gabriel springs are cracking or not. 3. Gabriel shocks are garbage after few thousand KMs, seriously gets fully compressed on potholes. Need to change to heavier oil and use spacers to get a reliable handling 4. Fuel tank is small given the high fuel consumption, if 1 lac less priced Mojo300 can have 21 litre why not a more premium version of this bike with larger fuel tank? 5. Pirelli tyres are soft compound that wear out sooner in Indian weather leading to front bar wobbling issue. Conclusion: Over all Many folks I believe, don't mind shelling out 50-99K for better shockers, tank, alloys and tyres.
It used to be there. Discontinued from 2019, I think. And honestly any consumer facing brand if it needs to hear feedback from a TH-cam video then the horse called ‘Satisfaction’ has already bolted 😏
Yes... I am waiting for tubeless rims and led lights as default fitment... Once RE will do that - I will be the first person to order and own one. But again there is limit to my patience... If RE became adamant on it... then "Rebel 500" :-)
I am facing the front end wobbling issue which starts at a speed of 60km/hr. and is prominent up to 80 km/hr. on my int. One more point I like to put is knowledge of the sales team at showroom. I have seen some of them don’t know the difference between Gt touring seat and int touring seat.
Have heard of this. That means the T has been over torqued. It has been messed with for sure, hence this issue. Please have it torqued at the service center at the service center to the correct specifications. Or The bearings have broken.
Valid points but they're trivial when viewed with perspective. No bike is perfect, and the positives very clearly outweigh the negatives. That doesn't mean that we should dismiss the bike's deficiencies, just that we should expect all bikes to have them.
Ashish ji.....agree with you twins are absolutely wonderful machines but RE attitude shooed me away from a purchase. They need to listen & react to their customers both at the same time. Or else they might end up the Harley way .

The twins are a wonderful machine the problem is royal enfield is the manufacturer. I mean look at that honda bigwing and their service that is very professional there now dont know what will happen at future.even a single cylinder honda highness gets wonderful after sale service.
RE make a engine keep adding new colours ..flog the horse till ita dead....then when people are super irritated on a update launch one new colour again....anyways I too own a twin..it's a fantastic bike...but completely agree on all the issues you bought out...at times it feels like complete stupidity on part of RE to not include such simple updates which .makes life more comfortable..And ups the ownership experience..they always don't go the full way always and always fall short it's always 98 percent never 100....goes for all models bhai paisa kamao..but take care of the community which has made RE what it is today
I bought the interceptor 650 in baker express as my first bike this year (I'm 20 years of age). I'm in love with 95 percent of what this motorcycle offers, but the negligence and lack of brotherhood from the so called "RE Family" is most definitely felt. I've been wanting a seat upgrade ever since I crossed 1.5k, and the lights are so dim that I've ended up putting a Harley Davidson 7 inchers so that I can atleast see where I'm going at night. With no exaggeration do I say, I were were to ride with thee factory headlights, I'd avoid paths without streetlights. This being said, I'm still glad I didn't choose something like a ktm (most common amongst my peers and my entire generation to be fair) But, the bike needs roughly a lakh of upgrades before one can call it a phenomenal piece of machinery.
i see that meteor is only upgraded with all features is simply because of the competition in 350cc segment - CB 350 , jawa . The 650 twins surely will get too ...soon
Royal Enfield. I had a Gt 650 for 2 years, I got the handlebars changed. There wasn't any problem with the engine as it was a twin however there were no upgrades and had so much problem with the gear liver. I am in such a relief now after selling it. 😁😁😁😁😁
I own Interceptor 650 and done about 15k km and yes the bike is AWESOME but to be honest after sale service is worst. The same way how Asiah sir said that the bike losses its RPM in 6th gear and above 120 KMPH when heated up,I have the same issue in my bike too and I have visited more then 3 service center and they say need to clean Throttle body. So I have cleaned 2 times but the result is the same and yes this word WARRANTY VOID is too frustrating for the riders like us who tour I have faced it 2 times in my Ownership. Have many thing to write about this bike but this is more than enough to write in comments. 😅
Additionally, In the Interceptor 650 the foot pegs are just below the rider... so in stand still condition of traffic the pegs scratch through the calf of the rider!!
No one from RE called me back till date to understand my problem. One call I get is Sir your Service is due for Bullet 350 cc. There are no dedicated technicians or properly trained mechanics for Interceptor or GT 650.
I'm in the same dilemma. I want to buy the GT650 because it looks great. I love the tank shape and rear seat cowl, so that I don't have to give lift to other people, plus it looks cool. I just wish that they offered it with Interceptor handlebar and better lights. RE dealerships in US and UK do a lot of customisations to the bikes. Just yesterday I went to a dealership to ask if they could do the changes that I need after I buy the bike, they looked at me as if I killed someone. I'm a new biker but I want to buy something that lasts me 10-20 years. This may be the only bike that I buy, not considering the used one that I have now to learn riding. Now slowly I'm moving towards BMW G310GS, but because it isn't a parallel twin like the GT650, it doesn't matter if it's a 310cc or 200cc, so I'm edging towards Xpulse. From GT650 to Xpulse, it's a big leap, and both are so different. But Xpulse has LED lights and comfortable seats for long journeys. GT has my heart, but my ass needs better seats, arms and back need higher handle bar and eyes need better visibility at night. Apart from that, the engine soundtrack is like music to my ears and smooth engine and always on twist power are what I really need even though I'm only gonna ride in Shimla for the rest of my life.
Hi. The GT inspite of its niggles is an unbeatable package at the price. Having said that the 310gs is bmw quality and the Xpulse is the go anywhere. Of the lot if it’s only city riding then the GT is looker + max grunt.
@@happinessperkm I have to do a bit of everything. I'm from Shimla. So there is a bit of offroading sometimes, but mostly riding up and down a hill on smooth roads with some potholes and a lot of sharp corners.

Guys lets tag RE and its CEO on Twitter to watch this video and let him answer our [problems
This panel of riders definitely deserves a place in the Royal Enfield design team.
I wish RE media team is watching this and inclined to respect the critics and their heartfelt suggestion.
Thanks Sunny. We may not be qualified for that but we can surely give real world inputs to help them improve a good product to great ✌🏻
Very valid points...I myself is a int650 owner from April 2019 and have faced all these issues as highlighted in this video...👍👍
Thanks for watching buddy
You are guys absolutely right, RE must take feedback from riders for what problems they face during the ride but they don't and it's a big mistake made by RE, But you guys are hopes of new beginning riders ,thank you so much guys 👍💐 I had Electra 350 RE & I love my bike 🤩
Meteor is product from RE because of Honda Highness... or else RE would be still cheating it’s customers...the day when Honda makes a Highness 650 twins, RE will think upgrading its 650s
Interesting take. Thanks for watching
Not too sure of that. RE is leading the pack, in India at least. Look at it this way, Honda would never have launched the highness in India if the Classic 350 was not making waves
My main complaint is that it's raining today and I can't ride my Interceptor ;-)
that’s a serious problem buddy. 😉
Good man :-)
My brother 🤘🏼!
You can ride it,, lol 😆
this conversation was really required dudes ...... hope RE will wake up to us rider's requirements and logically plan upgrades.
Yes buddy. It had to be said. And we are also hoping the next upgrade is meaningful 🤞🏻
Re is promising a new model for several quarters ahead. Future is always bright.
Thanks Sunny. Your kind words of appreciation are deeply appreciated 😊
Honoured bro. But then we always strive towards making motorcycling better
Very well put together issue in RE twin. RE should address all the issues raised by happinessperkm team. Specially, that warranty void issue..
Thanks for watching buddy. Hoping RE tunes in
This video not only brings out the problems in the 650 twins but also some fundamental problems in the RE marketing strategy.
I just hope they get the fixes done and do justice to this classic beauty.
same here
Have been using tvs apache 180 for past 5 years. Initially it took time to be habituated on the motorcycle. Did minor changes on seating cushion for long tour. In last 5 years, got very good support from tvs
Service center.
So good to

The best video I saw in the last two years. Truly all my issues. I can feel it literally 🙏😔
Hey Aseem. Thanks for buddy and we feel you buddy. Hoping the next upgrade by RE fixes these
I have a question i have already booked gt rocked red should i cancel and book meteor????? My purpose will be daily commuting to office 100 k/m and touring on weekends
GT is more enjoyable to ride or so we think 😊
Correctly pointed out.. And there are other problems like faulty fuel meter, awkward positioning of front and pillion footpegs, smaller capacity of the battery, tyre wobble, list seems endless.. Hope RE listens..
😊✌🏻
All the issues discussed/faced are absolutely legitimate, the rider who spends so much would not hesitate to pay a little more to get these issues sorted (if it's about the money)..!
Ashish is so articulate about the small niggles affecting the reputation of such a great machine, hope Siddhartha Lal is listening..!!!
Thanks for watching buddy. Imagine if it were the other way round. If the maker put his hand up and said we will fix this. Imagine the brand love it would create. It will happen one day. It has to.
@@happinessperkm Amen..
Thank you for your suggestion, sounds good. I'll check with RE 👍🏼
I completely agree. The blog says just that. www.happinessperkm.com/blog/royal-enfield-twins-taken-for-a-ride-or-great-expectations
@@MrSsundararaman Ahhhh a enlightened man !
the right video people want about these bikes. You guys are doing a great job. A basic LED headlight is still missing you don't get a DRL and there can be more such points which RE should include.
Thanks Shantanu.
We feel you brother
There are nice comfy stitched aftermarket seats better than what they're offering at a better price bro.
LONG COMMENT ALERT:
I saw this video and the video of Ashish Bahl’s ownership review back-to-back.
Bro, we feel you.
And believe us, when even we say that the package is so awesome but.... Ahem
Thanks for watching 😊✌🏻
I was itching for someone to discuss this - i am so relieved. Well done
Thanks for watching 😊
Really Thanq for putting out these points 🙏 . RE must see this video and start working on it.
If these problem are being shorted out then RE 's 650 twins are the only Indian bike which we Indan are proud of .
Thank you ❤️
Hi Dhiraj. You nailed it. The twins can be absolute legends. Thanks for watching buddy
They're not problems only things YOU would like to see changed.
Yes Steve I agree, it's basically things we would like to see as changes in future but Sir I personally own a Gt 650 few weeks before my back tyre got three punctures 😭 luckily there was a type repair shop near by me.
What if it happened in middle of night 😭?? I even don't put any main stand 😭
Rest the bike is supper fun to ride
This discussion was important and justifies right from beginning till end..I also think the same way but not just with RE , unfortunately other manufacturers both 2&4 wheeler are also neglecting customers & customers loyal to a particular brand or model and their feedback or expectations are gradually becoming unimportant to manufacturers. Upgrades bring hope but RE has disappointed us all atleast with regards to utility. Newer Colors options no big deal. Brighter illumination, wobbling issues and better seats are what needs to be addressed first and foremost !
Thanks for watching
Really a good discussion and very needed too. If RE really cares about their customer's. They need to answer for this or may come with the solutions..
Thanks for watching
Loved the use cases guys! absolutely agree with all the pointers, kudos. so relatable.
Someone had to say this about the customer service situation.
Thanks Johan. Yes it had to be said ✌🏻
@@happinessperkm appreciate the work you guys are doing for the community. Kudos!
Hi there. You nailed it. The RE service is what really needs to shine and the twins can be legends.
Yes it’s great bike and we love it. Just if RE fixed these issues. We would love it even more
@@happinessperkm 🙏😊
@@happinessperkm They are not issues, only things you would like done.
Exact same issues being faced by me … thanks for putting them out .. i wish they solve the wobbling issue … it is a safety concern

Thanks Rahul
They ARE one of the best.
Hey Gautam. Yes these are the kind of issues that RE must, address !
Fabulous content. Really hope someone from RE is watching this.👍👍👍
Thanks a lot Ajitabh.
✌🏻😊
I guess the root problems wrt warranty issues is at the ASC end, and not actually at the company level... claiming 'warranty issues' is probably the easiest way to shirk away from troublesome additional work!
Interesting point made
@@happinessperkm I ride a '16 535GT, enjoying "'happiness every km'" for the last 5 years... and RE has actually fulfilled my warranty claims multiple times... what mattered was the right attitude and ability of the ASC rep to comprehend the problem projected by the customer... and such people are not many!

Thanks buddy. We are sure RE will improve. They have to .
Inspite of new colour options in 2021 RE should have atleast given us tubeless tires
Yes agreed
That’s one way to look at it and we respect your opinion. Thanks for watching 🙏🏻
@@happinessperkm thanks guys.
Enjoy the bikes for what they are. This is what the manufacturer has given us. There’s no point in complaining that yours doesn’t comes with a tripper or wider tyres or different handlebars, and so.
Fully agreed.
The rant about the handlebar aside(since that is not forced upon you and is your choice which one to buy) , great points . RE should take note.
Thanks Kartik
Great discussion guys. Thank you. I had to take my Interceptor in to fix an electrical problem (temperamental starting) and it needed a new relay. I have made several modifications and this didn’t raise an eyebrow in regards to voiding the warranty. Not sure if there are different warranty safeguards in the UK though.
Hey Nigel. Your Service Center guys are reasonable. Lucky. And many thanks for watching ✌🏻
I have few changes that I noticed and would like to recommend and them in the next version release of Twins
Thank you 😊
Thanks for your detailed post. Much appreciated 😊✌🏻
Absolutely wonderful discussion, I first request RE to come up with alloy wheels...as it would be very difficult to handle during any punctures.
Thanks for watching buddy. Yes tubeless spokes or alloys are needed
@@happinessperkm yes hope RE starts selling the alloys ASAP.
I also agree with the logic that says if the company charges 5-10k more and gives the customers an option to upgrade the headlamp then that would be great and wouldn't cost the company a lot.
True ✌🏻
To each , his own . I personally love my gt 650 ,. It is one of the sexiest bikes in the whole world .
Love it !
At last someone on here with something decent to say, well done sir.
Thank you for making this video and hope someone in Eicher motors team is listening 🙏
Thanks Sujay. We hope so too ✌🏻
I own Avenger 220, 2014 model.
Hey Ravi. No avenger is not over looked it’s on our list to be reviewed. If you know avenger riders in Delhi please connect us.
@@happinessperkm I don't know any group. I mostly travel solo, being a student the rides are no so frequent but yeah avenger has been a great experience. We can connect if you want to know some of my experiences.
Yes please. Please mail your details to ashish@happinessperkm.com

1st one minute of this Video was eye catching.. 👌.. they were almost standing still like statue.. Awesome..
Direction apart..
Very well explained the differences RE doing with these bikes.. please update them RE.. please listen to them..
Thanks for watching 😊
and i would advice to read the book. indian icon a cult called royal enfield. it will help understand the mentality of the company. from that i deduced that the company needed a best seller 650 werent that. thats why they have shifter focus back to upgrading their main sellers 350.
Very well said . The only upgrade RE can give is colour change. Have not visited the showroom after my 500km 1 service . 😂😂😂
😊✌🏻
It's a brilliant episode, I always love the content of the channel, those real world problems are very real , BUT Manufacturer should acknowledge them and address it in there coming upgrades.
Point made on warty void , so typical , In Bangalore I faced the problem when we had the handlebar risers , Perhaps we taken out the risers, but still are not able to solve friend will wobbling issue.
Thanks a lot Shashi. Your words mean the world to us. 😊
Yup absolutely my bike is running because of rohit kaushik, and nitin.. bhot are very very helpful and have fixed many issues in my interceptor... and I saw your bike being there with the same complain that it doesn't go beyond 130ish..
✌🏻
Hey Angad. Loved reading your post. We agree with you. Hoping RE gets going....
Well said Angad. Dekh ke pata chalta hai ki aapne ye gaadi kiske liye, liya hai
Thanks 😊 for watching
Excellent discussion..loved it..guys keep coming with such chats..superb..
Thanks for watching
RE Continental GT was first launched with the same name in 1960s. It was always a cafe racer and RE will obviously not introduce another handle-bar option with it. With all respect to each rider in the video, you want to change the bike to your personal preference,. that is not considered as a "Issue" with the bike. That is a personal choice. I do agree with the point that the twins lack an upgrade in terms of alloy wheel, or bt tripper navigation
Hi fair point. Thanks for watching 😊
My main issues as I mentioned in the video are
- unavailability of spares.
- r18 rims
- absence of a center stand in the GT despite it being pricier than the INT.
Etc.
the demand for an upper t clamp may be personal to me but other things are not.
@@sumitberry14 Unavailability of spares is an issue, I have dealt it with too 😬
My guess, they want to make GT light for performance by not putting a central stand, as GT's are more for performance. Although, I got installed on mine from RESC for the reason of repairing tyre if it get flat on a bad day and offcourse it make bike maintenance easy.
Thanks for putting most of common issues in one video HPK team.
Hi Rahul,
Thanks for your comment, the point I raised was related to the riding triangle and under thigh support, as you know I am tall and heavy built guy and because of this under thigh support is must...
Hey Ananth. Yes it high time that RE started assuaging riders but fixing some if not all of these issues
Top notch quality content. The issues were summed up and put together in a very understandable manner. Hope RE addresses these issues at the earliest. Anyways Great job guys....Liked and Subscribed! Looking forward for more videos
Thanks a lot Sagar. Appreciate your words of encouragement 😊
Some critical issues not mentioned here:
Need to change to heavier oil and use spacers to get a reliable handling
Thanks for watching and sharing 😊 great points you have mentioned
There's a Need of JD POWERS Customer Satisfaction Survey for Bikes/2Wheelers as Well like the Cars . . 🤗
Hope your wait ends soon ✌🏻
I am facing the front end wobbling issue which starts at a speed of 60km/hr. and is prominent up to 80 km/hr. on my int.
One more point I like to put is knowledge of the sales team at showroom. I have seen some of them don’t know the difference between Gt touring seat and int touring seat.
Have heard of this. That means the T has been over torqued. It has been messed with for sure, hence this issue. Please have it torqued at the service center at the service center to the correct specifications.
Or
The bearings have broken.
Thanks for sharing
Valid points but they're trivial when viewed with perspective. No bike is perfect, and the positives very clearly outweigh the negatives. That doesn't mean that we should dismiss the bike's deficiencies, just that we should expect all bikes to have them.
Yes no bike is perfect. We love the twins. If issues were sorted. They would be really good
Ashish ji.....agree with you twins are absolutely wonderful machines but RE attitude shooed me away from a purchase. They need to listen & react to their customers both at the same time. Or else they might end up the Harley way .
Thanks for watching
RE Twins are only good for their refined engines and value for money, but there are issues and they need to be addressed . Great video Guys !
Hey Naman. Agree and echo. Thanks for watching buddy 😊

RE 350 GT and 350 Inter with 35ps ,wider tyres, degitimete,Liqud cooling and twinscylns could make more sense and sells. ❤️
I would just buy without second thought.
Sir I am big fan of RE all bikes , but due to budget I went for Hero Xpulse 200 and I am satisfied with it . Meteor came in 2020 still it is above 2 lacs I bought Xpulse bs4 in 2019 for only 1.25 lacs .
Oh the Xpulse is fab. We love that motorcycle
@@happinessperkm Thanks Sir, We can have a ride some day i am in chattarpur
@@happinessperkm also for head light xpulse led light is also not that good for highways i installed fog lights to get better visibility. RE is charging alot from all bikes but features are less. Now when Honda, KTM , Hero came in competition they launched meteor , but meteor is also not that loaded with features that Honda cb provides for same price. Hope RE is watching these videos else it will be hard for them to survive in this tough competition
Well said dear friend. Absolutely spot on
Engine light on, ABS light on. Finally after 3rd free service ECU was gone.
My GT650 chrome is under warranty, and still I paid for new ECU kit. @royalenfield #royalenfield
No one know the exact answer for ECU failure. They just told me Shortcircute is the reason and bumped.
Lost all Hope's on Authorized service center. They ruined my motorcycle.
Hi. If the issues are still there. Maybe complain to support@royalenfield.com ? And let them have another look
The twins are a wonderful machine the problem is royal enfield is the manufacturer. I mean look at that honda bigwing and their service that is very professional there now dont know what will happen at future.even a single cylinder honda highness gets wonderful after sale service.
Interesting take and yes it’s got a solid ring to it ✌🏻
I just started watching motorcycle content and by far your content is the most refined.
Thanks a lot.
Thanks for watching ✌🏻
This being said, I'm still glad I didn't choose something like a ktm (most common amongst my peers and my entire generation to be fair)
But, the bike needs roughly a lakh of upgrades before one can call it a phenomenal piece of machinery.
i see that meteor is only upgraded with all features is simply because of the competition in 350cc segment - CB 350 , jawa . The 650 twins surely will get too ...soon
Yes twins should get too 🤞🏻
Worth the full time watch content sir's. Everything covered haha, particularly upgrade is coming in different form of colours - it's cool.
😊✌🏻
Royal Enfield. I had a Gt 650 for 2 years, I got the handlebars changed. There wasn't any problem with the engine as it was a twin however there were no upgrades and had so much problem with the gear liver. I am in such a relief now after selling it. 😁😁😁😁😁
Oh that’s a shame you sold it.
Im still waiting to get the issues fixed from RE which r discussed above from last 1 yr....once done will surely buy one.
Amazing video. Deserve so much more sub
Thanks buddy. 😊
I'm going to hold off the buy till I see some real upgrades !
U will never buy it 😋
@@DavidSamuel17 he can...,not to him, 4 his son
@@jestinvarghese7890 lol his son will demand a superbike 😎
Additionally,
In the Interceptor 650 the foot pegs are just below the rider...
so in stand still condition of traffic the pegs scratch through the calf of the rider!!
Thanks 😊
No one from RE called me back till date to understand my problem. One call I get is Sir your Service is due for Bullet 350 cc. There are no dedicated technicians or properly trained mechanics for Interceptor or GT 650.
Yes they have their hands full. Hope they figure it out soon.
