Thank you 🙏 that’s very kind of you to say and very much appreciated… more than you can know. I was out walking this afternoon and contemplating stopping all together, so thank you. Kind regards Carl
I agree; watching these videos has helped me sooo much; easy to follow, easy to understand, easy to reproduce while doing it yourself. Keep up the excellent work! 👍🏻👊🏻
I had to watch this to refresh my memory. Thank you, Mr. Carl, for a wonderfully remarkable job of how my "Rhino" works !!!!! BMW needs to compensate you. You are a global treasure !!!!!! 🙂
What an exceptional show. Having ridden the new GSA for a year I've learned more from Carl than from riding 10,000 in the last year! Clear, comprehensive, and easy to follow. Exceptional work Carl!
Hi Jason, good morning and welcome to the channel. Thank you for your feedback and kind words. I’m pleased to hear that you have enjoyed the series, best wishes Carl
Very well done indeed! It’s good to see that someone who has decided to operate a TH-cam channel, has taken it seriously and undertaken it in a truly professional manner. Very informative, very clearly enunciated and a genuine pleasure to watch. It all make proper sense, to me. Thank you, Carl 👍👍👍
Hi Soup Dragon, thank you for your feedback and kind words. I’m pleased to hear you enjoyed this episode. The Dynamic ESA mini series took many weeks to put together. But from the feedback it seems the effort was worth it and owners now understand more about how to get the best from there bike’s Best wishes Carl
I have just purchased a 2022 GS Rallye and this series of videos have been invaluable to me. I really look forward to every new episode as I’ve learnt so much from you. Thank you for what you have produced, it is much appreciated.
Phenomenal video series. You explained all these systems better than any other video I've watched. I believe that since you are a mechanic you know the depth to take these topics to and have the knowledge to relay the information in a clear way. Where as folks that are just riders give more of a glancing overview. I really do appreciate your work on these videos.
Hello Correy and good morning... thankyou, I actually also enjoy putting these episodes together as I still learn every day...it never ends. Smile. Best wishes Carl
Agreed. This is better than what BMW seem capable of putting out themselves. It’s great, but it also kinda highlights how useless BMW are. Not to take away anything. The attention to detail is exceptional and highly valued.
While I have a R1250R (and obviously, the Enduro part doesn't apply), I have enjoyed all your videos in this mini-series. Wonderful presentation and explanation. I also agree that BMW should give you some $$ for helping explain these features on their newer bikes! :)
Hi J, good morning, thank you for the compliment, the R1250R is a lovely bike and I had a lot of fun on it. "RickyTang" has just posted his 10,000 mile review which you might like, if you leave a comment... say hello from me, he's a nice and very friendly chap. Best wishes Carl
Hi Carl. Just purchased a GS. Picking up in the next few days. Very infomative. Just found your channel. I too am a car mechanic for 35 Years. So much simpler back then. Have to embrace the technology. All the best.
Hi Ralph, welcome to the channel, firstly congratulations on your new GS and I hope you have lots of great adventures together... they are amazingly capable motorbikes. Yes... LOL... life was much simpler for us back in the 1980's and 1990's, when working on cars, motorbikes and commercial vehicles. I have a Honda XL (37 years old) restoration series coming soon, its been a joy to work on... so simple Best wishes for your GS collection day... Kindest Regards Carl
Hi Carl Many thanks, for the step by step explanation on how the available riding modes, affect the motorcycle. Also, the explanation as to how to adjust the pro modes, to suit individual preferences is made clear with step by step explanations. Just brilliant! Many thanks Alex
Good morning, I am a new GS owner as well as a sales consultant at Sierra BMW in Sparks, NV. I found your videos both entertaining and extremely easy to understand. I am giving all my new GS and other models with ESA and ride mode pro customers directions to your videos. Thanks for making these videos.
Hello Russ and good evening, thank you for your kind words and compliments, its lovely to hear this from a professional such as your self. The GS really is a wonderful motorrad and deserves to be understood my owners, as the design team have worked marvelous things for such a heavy bike. Kindest regards Carl I wish you lots of fun on your GS.
totally brilliant, BMW Motoradd should pay you for this stuff..thanks Craig, really appreciate all the effort you put in to this..I bought a GSA 1250 in June 2022..I've learnt more from you than anyone else...your presentation is second to none...
Thank you Carl for this series on the BMW R1250GS/A. I had a fair idea of how these things worked, but you cleared some things up for me. I am on my third big GS now with my 2022 GSA. BMW continues to refine and improve these machines. They have given me many great miles and many wonderful adventures so far and, I hope, many more. Rhys Williams, USA
Hello Rhys, thank you for the compliment, there is actually a lot more to share, but the episode was already quite long so i had to cut 35 mins out. It's a shame BMW don't tell owners more about these great bikes. Have a good weekend. Carl
Carl, Thank you very much for this set of videos (and really ALL the videos you produce). I picked up my 2022 Triple Black GS back in February of this year, and am still learning all the bells and whistles that it has while I properly kit it out (aka "make it mine"). I have been through the Riders Manual many times, but your videos have done a fantastic job of explaining topics in a straight-forward manner that we can all understand. I think after this video, I am ready to step up to the Dynamic modes, while being fairly certain I will shy away from the "Pro" modes until I have more miles under my belt. You mentioned you'd be happy if we learned at least one thing from these videos. Well I have learned plenty, so "Job Well Done"!! Keep up the fabulous work, Dan
Hello Dan, welcome to the channel and thank you for your compliment. I am pleased lots of owners have found the series interesting and helpful, that's really all I hoped to achieve. Good luck with the pro modes, they are useful at times and can be fun. Best wishes Carl
Absolutely outstanding tutorial of all the modes on the 1250GS. I own a 2022 1250GS and I finally understood the details of every mode and how the mode itself is split between drive and suspension settings etc. Hats off. Fantastic!
@@justthewayitis Believe it or not I finally put the bike in Dynamic mode yesterday after owning the bike for around 7 months now and couldn't believe what a huge difference it made... totally transformed the bike for me. That's what prompted me to look into the modes in more detail. Wish you a very happy Christmas and New Year as well 🙂
Brilliant information, I have just purchased a GS and wasn't happy with the suspension, these three episodes is just the job to help me with the setup, thank you very much 👍
Hello Col and welcome to the channel, glad you enjoyed the Dynamic ESA mini series and found it helpful. Congratulations on your new bike too… Happy Easter Monday Carl 👍
As you can see I don’t post videos weekly because they take ages to make. Plus I work with support from BMW in Berlin for the technical elements. It’s taken a while to build a good relationship with them and the technical team, but it has enabled me to more fully understand and then explain the systems they have implemented on our bikes. Carl
Clearly your are a very good pedagogue. I'll leave my 1200 GSA 2017 for a new 1250 GSA in two days and I was interesting to understand the new setting the bike. moreover you explain the pro of cons of the choice. You are a great guy. thank to spending your time for us.
Hello Patrick and welcome to the channel, congratulations on your new GSA. I hope you enjoy your new bike and have many happy journeys together. Best wishes Carl
Carl, this was a great presentation on Dynamic ESA and ride modes. Very well explained, informative, and captivating. Made me rethink my settings and realize that the PRO modes will never see the light of day on my bike 😃
An enormous amount of information, research and knowledge sharing with us youtubers. Thank You. Good excuse for me to tell the wifey as to why I am riding sooo much. I have printed out you spreadsheet!
Excellent explanation. Wish BMW sales people were required to see this and learned how this systems work. They offer very little explanation, if any, on how these complex systems work when you buy a new bike. Thanks Carl.
Hello! I've just recently purchased my first 23 r1250gs Rallye and very happy to have across your channel! Very educational and not voring to watch whatso ever! Thank you very much, will be subscribing and looking foward to more videos!
Wow, I can‘t believe how much misunderstanding and misinformation could be cleared up if everyone, riders as well as dealership staff and even BMW Motorrad staff unfamiliar with the technicalities, watches this video and would read this phenomenal chart that you‘ve made! Kudos! Now if there just was a software update for my 2017 R1200GS to allow that same amount of granularity when configuring the Pro modes…
Hello Ritter, and welcome to the channel and thank you for your feedback 👍. I’m delighted that so many owners and dealerships use and learn from these 3 episodes, it was a lot of work but the effort seems to be appreciated. Let’s hope you get your updated software 😊 Best wishes Carl
This video is Must Watch for anyone who owns a GS with these riding modes! Being an owner of a GS 1250 since 2020, I highly recommend you watch this before plugging in the Chip. After watching this I decided to unplug my chip since, being honest with myself, I do not need the dynamic and Enduro pro mode and prefer the numerous automatic safety features in the normal riding modes. 🤙
I did that too at the first moment when I was told by a friend that there were some safety features that would be lost. Nevertheless, after watching this fantastic explanation by Carl, I understood that, particularly on the dynamic pro, you could have some more features without loosing any safety . ( about the Enduro Pro it was clear for me that you would definitely loose safety). Did I misunderstand something?
Hello and welcome 🙏, yes that’s correct when you use Pro mode you are turning off or lowering the safety features. These 2 Pro modes are for experienced riders. Best wishes Carl
Have a good read of the chart I made which explains all the options for each mode . Much easier than me typing everything again. But yes you can maintain safety but make sure it’s all set correctly within Dynamic Pro
What a superb explanation! I took a screenshot of your spreadsheet for reference. I also passed the screenshot and link to your video onto my local BMW dealer. I think it’ll go a long way in helping them educate both new and more experienced returning customers with the many features the GS/GSA has to offer.
Hi Jeremy, good evening, and thank you for the compliment. That's a great idea... well done !!. And that's fine with me sending a link to your dealer. Maybe I should do some part time work for BMW 😏. Best wishes and I am pleased you enjoyed these episodes. Carl
I'am waiting for my ride to be deliver but, meanwhile, and I learned a lot with your explanations. I took the liberty to take a picture of the board that you put here! Tank you!
Fantastic series... so much information incredibly well explained. Although riding a 2017 S1000XR, it gave me some insight into how the 3 options of suspension settings (rider/rider+luggage/rider+pillion+luggage) work on my bike. Thanks very much for your channel... I'll be looking out for any new content!
Thank you 👍, and I am pleased you found the series helpful to you and your S1000XR (lovely motorbike). The suspension can be a little difficult to understand but its a great system with good flexibility. Best Wishes Carl
I just bought a dedicated track bike and the rear brake has so many uses and the weird feelings of backing it in, adding brake when doing wheelies, adding brake mid-turn to stabilize, and much more, isn’t hard, but does surprise you if you’re not used to it, and should be practiced on closes circuits. The wheelie control should be there for everyone, but I agree on being very careful with turning rear ABS off if you haven’t been riding for most of your life without ABS or are proficient with non-ABS at the track.
Hi Carl, what can I say that's not been said before on here about your videos, I'm planning buying a r1250gs next year and I stumbled across your vids while watching reviews etc. Excellent information, comprehensible and eloquently put across, give yourself a good pat on the back. Can't wait for further gs vids.....Subscribed.
Hi Kevin, then I'm glad you found the channel, thankyou for subscribing and your positive feedback. I bet you cant wait for next year, which colour will you choose? Carl
Thanks for reply Carl, I'm going for the tripple black TE, I will be retired soon and it will be a nice present for next March. Sorry this question is not on the correct video, but how are you getting on with the risers? On my test ride I felt I needed the bars slightly towards myself, which would make the ergonomics right for me.
The TBlack looks great and March is not far away. Yes the bar risers do help, although I only wanted to come towards the rider not up... but it's a good upgrade and it works for me with seat in the higher position. One option that is worth every penny, is the heated seat option which extends the riding season. Best wishes Carl
Awesome series. Just finished watching all three in a row. Super interesting! Thank you so much for doing it. I have been riding for many years (a lifetime really) and picked up a brand new 2023 R1250GSA (with all the goodies) earlier this year. Debuncking the ride modes and the damping pre-sets was on the top of my to-do list. I hope you don't mind but I made exact copies of your spreadsheets as I was listening along for my own quick recap later on and to explain it to my riding buddies. Thanks again.
Hello Alain and welcome to the channel, thank you for kind words and good to hear you enjoyed the Dynamic ESA mini series. I wish you lots of fun adventures on your new GSA Kindest regards Carl
Awesome job describing all the features. Loved it. Have a new to me 2018 r1200gsa and had trouble figuring everything out. You described it perfectly. Thanks!!
Thanx for the first clear explanation of the riding modes on my 2020 GSA. I've been riding a 1992 R100GSPD since I bought it new in 92 and decided in 2020 to add another motorcycle to my life. I now know not use the Pro settings for my riding & tires since the GSA is mostly ridden on tamer roads (both asphalt and dirt) then I ride the GSPD on.
@@justthewayitis I was just going over the menu on my 2020 GSA and I don't have all the control options that you covered in the charts. By example, in Dynamic Pro I don't have an option "DYNA-PRO" in DTC or ABS. I guess this also means that DBC is never turned off but I'll check with the dealer. Also, I don't seem to have the ability to choose ENDURO mode unless I remove the plug that allows me access to the PRO modes. That kinda stinks since I want to use ENDURO (not PRO) and DYNAMIC PRO choices but can't because the choice is either PRO or non-PRO modes.
Hi Corvus, yes best check that with your dealer. I think this is why they decided to remove the plug in module.. so that everyone could access all the modes. Best wishes Carl
This has been a great reference for explaining what is going on with the control systems on these bikes. I have just taken delivery of a 2023 model GSA Rallye and have just been out on my first ride today. So far so good. As I don't intend to ride on anything more serious than the odd stretch of road works most of the enduro/Pro modes will be superfluous to my needs as will probably be the Dynamic/Pro modes but we'll see. What I think is missing is probably a Road/Pro mode so that you are able to swap and change some of the Road options. However that may be wishful thinking and I may be over thinking it. I'll be out on the road over the next few days trying out some of all this technology though hopefully it won't detract to much from the enjoyment of just "going for a ride ". After today I reckon a set of handle bar risers and a larger screen. 👍
Hello Neville and welcome to the channel, pleased to hear you enjoyed the Dynamic ESA mini series. Congratulations on your new bike and I hope you have lots of fun. Kindest regards Carl
Great video my BMW dealership explained virtually nothing on my new triple black 2022 GSA, dynamic road suits my riding style perfectly but the front wheel still lifts under strong acceleration often also accidentally with a rear top box full of riding equipment so hopefully I can now adjust things accordingly.
Hi Manos 👍, currently working on a long video explaining in lots of detail the function and maintenance of the exhaust flap/valve along with delete options, I’ll probably have that finished next week Carl
Well done, Sir! Best I’ve seen on this topic (the whole series)! It’s all now clear as fresh engine oil now! Seriously, complex topic explained very clearly! BMW could add a ‘medium’ wheelie control setting vs. just going to ‘off’ from ‘maximum’.
Amazingly detailed information that is almost impossible to learn from BMW dealers! Thank you for this great work and very well presented information. I wish we could download the spreadsheets so we can study them in more depth, maybe even translate them into Spanish so that we can spread the word. Again, thanks for the great effort! Kudos! SUBSCRIBED!
Hello Panama, welcome to the channel, thank you for your feedback, kind words and subscribing 👍. It did take several weeks to put each episode together so I’m delighted owners are enjoying them. Best wishes Carl
Thanks a lot for the explanation. Exceptional didactics. I would like BMW to make this video available at the dealership to everyone who buys a new motorcycle. A friend left the store yesterday with the bike in Dynamic Pro mode not knowing what that meant.
Thanks Carl for this clear.. I have watched your 3 chapters, and subscribed. So, thanks for make it in the right balance of being easy to understand, but being technically advanced and detailed in explanations. That wasn’t an easy job to do, but you did it. And, also, as English is not my mother language, let me said, your speak and pronunciation is so easy to understand for me, didn’t need even read subtitles. Why? Are you the guy who recorded the listening records I learned in school? 😂 Thanks, thanks, and thanks again
Hi Boxer, happy new year and thank you for the feedback it's nice to hear, yes it was a lot of work for me to make. I am glad you enjoyed the 3 part mini series about Dynamic ESA, it is a lot to learn and understand and a lot to watch. Thankyou very much for subscribing 👍 Kindest regards Carl
I've watched loads of vids on the gs but this little series is head and shoulders above everything else. you've explained every question I've had which I couldn't find the answers for in the manual. I'd love to get hold of your flow chart to peruse at leisure, if you print it I'll buy it !!!
Just finished this mini-series. Fantastic production Carl; clearly a heck of a lot of work/research has gone into this and the end result really does work. I now have a better (not going to say 'full' just yet) understanding of these systems. I don't suppose there's anywhere that the spreadsheet can be downloaded so that I can use it as I'm stood over my bike and working out the various options?
Hi Martin Thankyou it was as you guessed a lot of work and many phone calls and emails to BMW technical team to put this series together, so I’m delighted that many owners are finding it helpful. The spread sheet is not yet available but I hope to have a solution at some point Best wishes Carl
Thank you! I bought a R1250RS this year and I've been extremely curious about what exactly is happening in these various modes and combinations of modes. I just watched a video on the new S1000RR and it appears to actually have a visual graphic representation of it's modes on the TFT that gives a little more detail of what is happening.
Hello FastFWD and welcome to the channel. Glad to hear your enjoying your RS, lovely bike. Yes I hope that the GS 1300 versions will add and improve on the extra graphical interface. Best wishes Carl
Hi Carl Absolutely brilliant set of three videos that I've watched over and over again. Excellent work, way beyond anything I've seen elsewhere. Thank you so much. For me I think id go for the throttle mapping of Dynamic Pro but dial back the ESA settings to Rain to extend your imaginary safety ring around the rider. Nice concept. I too would be more than happy to purchase your chart when you publish it. Just one question please. I'm picking up my new (to me) Dec 2018 R1250 GS (not Adv) next week. Is it the same as your video or will it missing any of the key elements? Many thanks Stan
Hi Stan and welcome to the channel and thank you for your feedback 🙏. With regards to your new to you GS their are differences between the early 1250 and the later 21 on wards bikes in terms of ride modes and heated grip levels and such, but they are still great bikes. I actually prefer the ride quality on the 2018 model, but you will have lots of fun with your new bike and you have lots of adjustments to get the bike to ride and perform to your requirements. I presume your Rallye will be the blue coloured one which has always been my favourite colour option 👍. I wish for you a fun time getting used to your new ride. Kindest regards Carl
Hi Mike, LOL... thankyou. But actually I have recently started adding subtitles in 7 different languages to my videos, I've finished the last 8 episodes but still lots to do. Happy new year Carl
Sorry to hassle you Carl but would it possible to post a link to the terrific spreadsheet you have produced? Or I'm happy to send you my email if that's easier? Thanks again best wishes Karl 😊
Hello Stan, welcome to the channel and thank you for the nice comments, it's a lot of work but I know lots of owners find them informative. Best wishes Carl
Carl, this series was outstanding, a huge help. So appreciative of your efforts. I just emailed you about a project I'm about to undertake, please mine that out of your inbox in a quiet moment and give it some thought. Would be delighted to collaborate with you on it.
Hi Nils, good morning, I will get back to you about your question. Thankyou for your feedback... I'm glad so many owners enjoy the episodes. Best wishes Carl
Fantastic graph & video in general. I will have to look into this difference more between the Dynamic/pro modes. Would also like to add that the manual notes that as well as mostly all electronics being turned off in Dyna pro, that lean angle traction is negated also. Note, i use my GS as a sports bike in groups riding on mostly country roads thus ride rather extreme at times, unfortunately for my safety. I have R spring pre load on max & simply toggle between engine rain, road & dynamic which gives me plenty varience for both engine & dampening feel. When going slower to & from the group ride i turn down R pre load to auto & ride in rain as its the nicest in general. Overall its basically impossible to ride very fast on the street in Dyna Pro compared to dynamic without grief coming your way as all corners & road surfaces are two different. In Dynamic engine/dampening whilst going very hard out in the country streets i feel the bike correcting often, especially when banked over giving it good handfull so would think only a unwise person would take such a risk with Dyna pro. Is for track conditions only in reality.
Hello Little Fish and welcome to the channel, the only person that can answer that question is you the rider. We each have our own skills and abilities, and we each must decide what we can safely handle. In Dynamic Pro mode you have several options and if a rider decides to set everything to Dyna-Pro he/she needs to be prepared for the bike to behave accordingly. If a rider knows and can safely feel and control a bike without traction control or the other safety systems.... then great. But for most of us (me included) i do not use any Dyna-Pro mode option. If i am completely honest with myself.... the GS (and my previous Ducati Multistrada) has saved me several times already (Traction control and ABS), so i am grateful for the systems. Yes.... i would say Dyna-Pro is for track use or extremely talented riders. Best wishes, Carl
Superb content, thank you. I slightly disagree with the contention that Dynamic Pro settings should only be used by those who are "very very experienced". Dynamic Pro is just what every analogue bike has been provided as for decades, including BMW's. My 1995 Daytona 1200 with 147PS has zero anything, not even a slipper clutch, you just have to use your brain which every motorcyclist has. I know I don't have cornering ABS and therefore ride accordingly in the wet. I'm not being a Luddite here though, I do think these safety systems are first class and I have them on my other bikes.
Hi Terence, and welcome to the channel. Yes I do agree in a way with your comment, especially for those of us that have been riding since the 80's when we learned the hard way about brake and throttle control. But, the GS and GSA have attracted many new riders, and these riders need to have this information and be aware of what's going to happen when you use the wrong mode. I have tested Dynamic pro mode with everything set to Dyna-pro mode... and it is a handful to control and I've been riding since I was 15 years old, and I am a fairly quick rider, So... I think it's fair to suggest only experienced riders use this mode until they fully know what's going to happen. Thankyou for sharing your thoughts and I hope you subscribe.... smile. Have a good weekend Carl
Thing is the GS can be ridden faster in Dynamic rather than Dynamic pro on most streets as the road surface is unpredicable, ie, ruts, gravel, leaves, sand, etc, etc. So basically the function is for slower, more conservative riders i think, to make them feel better about their skills because in reality if bike pushed to the limit you going to be in a world of unrest without those electronic safety managements.
Hi Little Fish, sorry I've only just seen that i didn't reply to you. Its quite hard to keep track. But YES agree with you, set to Dynamic and just ride, only very skilled riders would get much more from the GS/A in the Pro-mode. Hope your enjoying the great weather, Carl
Hello Adam, thank you, glad you enjoyed it. Subscribers are beginning to receive their kits, installing them and leaving comments... which is great. Best wishes Carl
Hi Franco, send me an email address is on the channel pages. I’m away from home at the moment so I’ll reply in a week when I’m back. Kindest regards Carl
Great series of videos, thanks for the effort you have put in. I have a question - is this level of adjustability only available on 2021 onwards models? I have a 2019 which has rain, road, dynamic-pro and enduro-pro activated. Am I able to customise each of these settings as outlined in your epic spreadsheet?? Thanks again, very educational and I agree with others here - required viewing if you want to get the most out this motorcycle:)
Hi Lewis, well there are more options with the 21 onward bikes but the earlier ones are just as good in terms of performance and usability and the rear preload setting seems a little better on the earlier bikes. Thank you for your feedback, best wishes Carl
Hi Carl excellent info , finally got it clear this riding mode, spring adjustment etc. great job! On a different subject, what about mirror extension? Would they actually improve visibility or shall i say mirror better visibility at the rear? Looking forward to your reply and to more videos. Thanks and Regards Carmelo
Hello Carmelo and welcome, I have not had issues with poor visability with the mirrors, but I know some owners fit wider ones, I think Wunderlich make a height extension that mount under the standard mirrors that improve things, perhaps have a look on there website. If i come across anything I will let you know. Best wishes Carl
I have never seen someone explain technical issues so clearly and easily transferred to everyday use, absolutely illuminating, thank you very much

Agreed. This is better than what BMW seem capable of putting out themselves. It’s great, but it also kinda highlights how useless BMW are.
Not to take away anything. The attention to detail is exceptional and highly valued.
Your welcome 👍

Many thanks, for the step by step explanation on how the available riding modes, affect the motorcycle. Also, the explanation as to how to adjust the pro modes, to suit individual preferences is made clear with step by step explanations.
Just brilliant!
Many thanks

Hello Alex, so now you are all set for some lovely riding time... thankyou for the compliment. Best wishes Carl
Kindest regards Carl
I wish you lots of fun on your GS.
Hello Russ, I was chatting to Mark the CEO of Weiser Technik today, and he knows your dealership well and sends his regards.
Carl
totally brilliant, BMW Motoradd should pay you for this stuff..thanks Craig, really appreciate all the effort you put in to this..I bought a GSA 1250 in June 2022..I've learnt more from you than anyone else...your presentation is second to none...
Hi Andy, good morning, thank you for the compliment. Glad everyone seems to be enjoying the series. Its Carl btw... not Craig lol
Keep up the fabulous work,
Dan
Hello Dan, welcome to the channel and thank you for your compliment. I am pleased lots of owners have found the series interesting and helpful, that's really all I hoped to achieve. Good luck with the pro modes, they are useful at times and can be fun. Best wishes Carl
Absolutely outstanding tutorial of all the modes on the 1250GS. I own a 2022 1250GS and I finally understood the details of every mode and how the mode itself is split between drive and suspension settings etc. Hats off. Fantastic!
Hello Ritesh, thank you for your feedback its always nice to hear owners that enjoy the episodes. Seasons greetings to you.
Kindest regards Carl
@@justthewayitis Believe it or not I finally put the bike in Dynamic mode yesterday after owning the bike for around 7 months now and couldn't believe what a huge difference it made... totally transformed the bike for me. That's what prompted me to look into the modes in more detail.
Wish you a very happy Christmas and New Year as well 🙂
Hi Ritesh, yes its quite a difference when you move to Dynamic, have fun with your settings. Carl
Brilliant information, I have just purchased a GS and wasn't happy with the suspension, these three episodes is just the job to help me with the setup, thank you very much 👍
Hello Col and welcome to the channel, glad you enjoyed the Dynamic ESA mini series and found it helpful. Congratulations on your new bike too…
Happy Easter Monday
Carl 👍
This series really has been a lightbulb moment. Fantastic explanations.
Thank you 🙏
Please pass this on to your fellow GS GSA riders. Glad you enjoyed these 3 episodes from the bigger GS series
Regards Carl
@@justthewayitis if you don’t mind I will post a link to your channel on the GSUkers forum.
Hi Darryl that would be fine with me, no problem. And thank you 🙏
As you can see I don’t post videos weekly because they take ages to make.
Can’t thank you enough for this three part series! I have a 2021 GSA and think this will change my riding experiences immensely!
Hi Brain Thankyou 🙏 I hope you now have fun adjusting the settings to suit your riding style and your local roads.
Have a nice Sunday evening
Carl
The BEST bmw modes explanation EVER. Fantastic
Hi Derek welcome to the channel 👍 and thankyou, I am pleased you and so many owners are enjoying this, and the series. Best wishes Carl
Carl, this was a great presentation on Dynamic ESA and ride modes. Very well explained, informative, and captivating. Made me rethink my settings and realize that the PRO modes will never see the light of day on my bike 😃
Hi Mika, Thank-you for the compliment and I am happy you enjoyed it, yes there is lots to understand but it’s a great system. Best wishes Carl
You need to say tank you to BMW, but all of us GS riders need to say thank you tou you👍 what a greet peace of information
Hi Paulo, thank you for the compliment. Very much appreciated. 👍😊
An enormous amount of information, research and knowledge sharing with us youtubers. Thank You.
Good excuse for me to tell the wifey as to why I am riding sooo much. I have printed out you spreadsheet!
Hi 911, thank you for your kind words, very much appreciated. Best Wishes Carl
Excellent explanation. Wish BMW sales people were required to see this and learned how this systems work. They offer very little explanation, if any, on how these complex systems work when you buy a new bike. Thanks Carl.
Hi Jerry and welcome to the channel, thank you for your comment and feedback, yes perhaps the sales guys and girls could do more. Best wishes Carl
Hello! I've just recently purchased my first 23 r1250gs Rallye and very happy to have across your channel! Very educational and not voring to watch whatso ever! Thank you very much, will be subscribing and looking foward to more videos!
Hello and good evening,
congratulations on your new bike and thank you for subscribing 🙏🙋🏻♂️
Have fun , Carl
Meilleurs voeux, Carl
Brilliant mini series Sir, thank you. I never expected that my GS has all of those different sittings. Once more, thank you so much…
Hello Hesham and welcome to the channel. Thankyou for your comments and I hope you are enjoying your GS. Best wishes Carl
Let’s hope you get your updated software 😊
Best wishes Carl
Thanks for putting this together very informative... I have had 3 GS's with Ride modes and ISA and until now never really understood what they did ..
Your very welcome 🙏
Arguably the best explanation on TH-cam. Thanks. I love you videos!
Hi, welcome and thank you. Glad you enjoyed it.
Best Wishes Carl
This video is Must Watch for anyone who owns a GS with these riding modes! Being an owner of a GS 1250 since 2020, I highly recommend you watch this before plugging in the Chip. After watching this I decided to unplug my chip since, being honest with myself, I do not need the dynamic and Enduro pro mode and prefer the numerous automatic safety features in the normal riding modes. 🤙
Hi Shamus, good morning
Glad you enjoyed the 3 part mini series
Have a great Sunday
Carl
I did that too at the first moment when I was told by a friend that there were some safety features that would be lost. Nevertheless, after watching this fantastic explanation by Carl, I understood that, particularly on the dynamic pro, you could have some more features without loosing any safety . ( about the Enduro Pro it was clear for me that you would definitely loose safety). Did I misunderstand something?
Hello and welcome 🙏, yes that’s correct when you use Pro mode you are turning off or lowering the safety features. These 2 Pro modes are for experienced riders.
Best wishes Carl
Thanks Carl, but isn’t it true that with the dynamic pro you can maintain all the same safeties as the “no pro” dynamic, even increase some of them?
Tank you!
Hi Pedro, I hope your bike arrives soon and I'm glad you enjoyed the episode. 👍
Glad to hear your enjoying your time on track Ryan. 👍
I wish you lots of fun adventures on your new GSA
Kindest regards Carl
Awesome job describing all the features. Loved it. Have a new to me 2018 r1200gsa and had trouble figuring everything out. You described it perfectly. Thanks!!
Hi James and welcome to the channel, thank you for your feedback 🙏 and I wish you lots of fun adventures on your new GSA.

Hi Corvus, your R100 sounds great. And will only go up in value. The 2020 GSA is also a nice bike. Best wishes and thank you for the compliment. Carl

Great video! Very informative and comprehensive. I will definitely be using this as a resource. Thank you for your hard work. Best!
Hi Creed, thank you for the compliment. Have a good weekend 👍
Hi Andy, glad you enjoyed the 3 part series and now you can enjoy more fun times on your GSA. Best wishes Carl
Have to admit. From all the bikers of GS a BIG thanks. 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻By far the best and most professional explanation. 🙏🏻🙏🏻👌

It took a lot of work to make the 3 part mini series, so thank you 🙏
Carl
@@justthewayitis well done brother well bone 👌🙏🏻
Hi Manos 👍, currently working on a long video explaining in lots of detail the function and maintenance of the exhaust flap/valve along with delete options, I’ll probably have that finished next week
Carl
Well done, Sir! Best I’ve seen on this topic (the whole series)! It’s all now clear as fresh engine oil now! Seriously, complex topic explained very clearly! BMW could add a ‘medium’ wheelie control setting vs. just going to ‘off’ from ‘maximum’.
Hi Yo, yes they could add that setting. It's a good idea. Have a nice weekend. Carl
You make it sound so easy. Excellent home work, Carl! 👍👍👍
Hi David, good morning and thank you 👍
Absolutely fabulous explanation! Thank you so much for putting this together!
Hi Johnny, you are very welcome 🙏 glad you enjoyed it. Best wishes Carl
Amazingly detailed information that is almost impossible to learn from BMW dealers! Thank you for this great work and very well presented information. I wish we could download the spreadsheets so we can study them in more depth, maybe even translate them into Spanish so that we can spread the word. Again, thanks for the great effort! Kudos! Nice series. A lot of information but comprehensive!
Thank you Patrick, 👍🙏
Thanks a lot for the explanation. Exceptional didactics.
I would like BMW to make this video available at the dealership to everyone who buys a new motorcycle. A friend left the store yesterday with the bike in Dynamic Pro mode not knowing what that meant.
Hi Alexandre, good morning. Well I would be happy for BMW to do that. They just need to ask me. Best wishes Carl

Hi Rob, thank you
Just finished this mini-series.
The spread sheet is not yet available but I hope to have a solution at some point

HI,great video. Please share a printable brakedown of the modes for refrence.
Very clear explanation! Thank you very much!
You’re welcome 🙋🏻♂️
Carl, when can we expect this in 10 different languages😂. Happy New Year and a huge thank you.
Hi Mike, LOL... thankyou. But actually I have recently started adding subtitles in 7 different languages to my videos, I've finished the last 8 episodes but still lots to do.

@@justthewayitis This is priceless information. All your videos are superb 👌
Hi George, thank you, maybe I should work for BMW. The 😊
Fantastic graph & video in general.
@@justthewayitis , Thankyou for your response.
No problem 👍
@@justthewayitis 👍 I'm already subscribed 😁
👍😏 thankyou.
Again absolutely excellent

Very clear explanation, thank you
Hi Rik, thank you 👍
Excellent explanation
Thank you Nick
Hi Carl excellent info , finally got it clear this riding mode, spring adjustment etc. great job! On a different subject, what about mirror extension? Would they actually improve visibility or shall i say mirror better visibility at the rear? Looking forward to your reply and to more videos. Thanks and Regards
Carmelo
Hello Carmelo and welcome, I have not had issues with poor visability with the mirrors, but I know some owners fit wider ones, I think Wunderlich make a height extension that mount under the standard mirrors that improve things, perhaps have a look on there website. If i come across anything I will let you know. Best wishes Carl
