    Great review guys. Personally I don’t even think X5 and RRS are same league. The RRS is something else and has a presence nothing else on the road has. I’m getting a V6 Dynamic this week.

    • @markkofi8522
      @markkofi8522 3 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      That's your opinion and I respect it. But when you look at the technical side and driver appeal, the X5 is certainly more than a match for the RRS, on the road.
      Clearly the RRS has the off road edge, but how many actually do any serious off roading?
      Also the reliability issue puts the X5 on top.
      A final point, there are soooooo many RRS's on the road that its lost that exclusivity.

    • @dennox1
      @dennox1 3 ปีที่แล้ว +10

      @@markkofi8522 Still on the road the RRS is a head turner the X5 doesn't look anything special in a world full of similar cars from Audi, Volvo, VW, Porsche, Mercedes etc ... again my opinion. Also on driver appeal, have you driven one? they are something else.

      @@dennox1 Hey bro, I was waiting for your response. 😁
      No, I've not driven one.
      My brother-in-law, who has a RRS Autobiography, hasn't given me the pleasure of sampling his. He knows that my right foot is rather heavy, so he doesn't risk it.
      I gave him a blessing for my sister but he won't give me his car for a test drive. 😂🤣
      The Range is a head turner. But the head is turning every 2 minutes because there's so many of them on the road 😂🤣

      @@markkofi8522 x5 is not as exclusive as RR. x5's are driven by the police here in the UK and because of that, many see the x5 as a common/cheap car.

    Understand not everyone thinks like you, if you think you’re right all the time, you’re wrong.
    I can afford both and have had an X5 from new since 2018. It’s never missed a beat, nor cost me anything apart from running costs. I love the RR too but prefer and have ordered a new X5, due June.
    Can’t wait for delivery.

  • @c-fb

    I’m on my 2nd RRS now. I had the 306PS SDV6, and i have the P400e now. There was a 6 month delivery time when i ordered it, so while waiting for the new i one i ordered a BMW i3s, that i have wanted to get for a loooong time (i got a better deal when i traded the SDV6 immediately to the dealer). I got the P400e in January 2021 and i have driven about 5000kms with it, with the BMW almost 1 year later a bit under 25K! I do LOVE the RRS! I got it in Carpathian Grey and put those 22” graphite grey silver turned wheels on it, it looks just amazing! I also love BMW for their technology and how their cars drive and i was looking at the X5 both times before i got the RRS, but there is just something special about the RR…The feel, the amazing ride, i love the seats, it feels like a real SUV, i love that! Also, i like the image of the RRS compared to the X5, it feels like it’s “nothing special”, while the RRS has that “something”. I REALLY hope that Land Rover will soon bring a electric RRS, i have gotten to love driving electric and do so mostly with the RRS, but the range is absolutely shit with the those 22’s. Also, the RRS is pretty poorly equipped. I have ticked almost everything possible, but it lacks things, or charges extra that many many much cheaper city SUV’s have (Skoda, VW, the Korean’s), so that’s a big downer. Looking very much forward to the 2023 RRS, if it rubs me the right way, i will def consider trading it in around 2024…It will probably have 20k Km’s on it, LOL!!😂

Seats were comfy and the car had something about it that made it feel strong and quality. Ended up selling it last year with 77k km on it for a brand new Audi SQ7. Only ever had one issue which was a coolant leak. He loved the sport so much that he is considering buying another to replace his old 2015 Mercedes ML. Range Rover Sport is an awesome car.

    The main issue with JLR cars really has been the reliability, silly issues and quality problems. But even worse than that is the extremely sluggish at times infortainment screens compared to market leaders. The latter is really a problem that shouldn’t even be a consideration for cars that easily exceed £100k. Seems like the newer systems in the Defender and refreshed discovery sort out some of it, but it’s still not quite as smooth as it should be.
    Great video though, really enjoyed it!

    That one guy has such a chip on with the range rover vs X5 as he must have an X5. I'd far rather have a range rover sport than an X5. A range rover sport is designed from the ground up to be a range rover sport. And X5 or GLE share chassis with saloon cars which makes them feel much less planted than the range rover, because the range rover is supposed to be a big tank and the gearbox on the range rover is incredible. For a better driving car, the Porsche Cayenne is the only car I'd rather have but a range rover sport autobiography comes way better spec'ed out than a porsche without all of the expensive extras that must be added on.
    I had a range rover sport rental, aswell as a Cayenne GTS, X5 and GLE but the Cayenne and Range Rover are the two that were special in their own right. The only thing better about the X5 is the command Navi system and possibly the comfort of the seats, as the range rover seats are quite uncomfortable on long journeys.

    Thing about is that you do have off road capability, unlike the X5. Objectively the X5 is a better proposition for someone who doesn’t leave paved roads, but for some of us who do like getting our cars dirty the RR is the choice.

    This idea of unreliability has to stop as well. All modern cars are light years ahead when in comes to reliability than when I was in my twenties. Which was a while ago. I had a gentleman come in to see me to purchase a new Range Rover and he was trading in his current vehicle which was a Range Rover as well, he handed me the keys and a folder with what had malfunctioned on the vehicle and there was a lot that had gone wrong with the car so I asked him why he was purchasing another one with all the problems that he had the his current vehicle his answer was that out of the six Range Rovers that he had owned this was the only one that had caused him any grief and the reason he was updating this one with another Range Rover was because there was nothing else like it. His owned his current vehicle for three years and nothing has gone wrong with this one. You will find that all car companies have similar stories regardless of the brand.

    • @markkofi8522
      @markkofi8522 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Unfortunately most of the RRS drivers I know complain about the reliability aspect.
      My brother-in-law currently drives a RRS Autobiography. I drive an X5 with 120k on the clock.
      In the 6 years since I bought my X5 he's now on his third Range Rover branded vehicle. He doesn't go more than two years without suffering big issues.
      His first (the Evoque) and Autobiography number 1 caused him no end of problems. His current Autobiography is going well so far. But time will tell.

    When the passenger, who admitted he was not a RR owner, past or present, said the RR Sport was unreliable I question how many, if any, BMW’s he has ever owned. I’m on my fourth RR and have experienced zero problems and as a former BMW owner of several models and having friends that have owned the BMW X5 i can honestly say it has been my experience that BMWs are totally unreliable.

    I've got the 2017 SDV8. Wouldn't swap for the SDV6 ever. I pull a 2.5 ton boat and I can still accelerate up steep hills and still uses less fuel towing the boat than the petrol V8 towing nothing. The power is effortless. 250KW and 740NM of torque. Land Rover in their ignorance have dispensed with my model. Just as well mine will last forever.

    If I had the option to go back in 2011 I’d never purchase the rrs 5.0 s/c v8. The most “off road” experience Ive ever had. Quick TH-cam search about timing chain for example, or faulty suspension, fan clutch noise, supercharger rattling, etc that will make you off the road most of the time.

    • @igbokwenu4934

      Because BMW have an emotional cult like following. The big dude in this video admits the good points of this RR e.g. ride height, off road capability, yet is going for an X5 based off emotions of fear of being judged. The first guy was more honest and let’s face it , when you’re the best everyone wants to take your crown, it’s not pretentious when everyone stops to look at your RR as you drive past. It’s the sign of dominance. Some can handle it others can’t. But let’s not pretend that this isn’t the best SUV around. RR ftw 🙌🏾! 😁
      Edit: I’m buying one this winter. Not bad of an upgrade from a little 208 Peugeot. Tired of pretending to be broke to make insecure people “comfortable” about being on their level . Yes I am a knob here’s a 🖕🏽to all the haters ! Always live your best life fellas, you freaking deserve it as you’ve worked for it. 💪🏾
