I'm still scared to get too close to the wall when I'm chest to wall. I feel like (and I will likely) fall away from the wall but I don't know how to safely bail out. I tried to roll over my head/back.. but it hurt my neck.

So I would learn how to cartwheel bail or at least somersault to prevent injury. But honestly it just takes time to get comfortable with it. You could start in the pike position and slowly start to elevate the feet onto a box so it simulates the handstand from the hands to the hips but your legs are on top of a box instead so you are much more grounded but can still learn the position.

@@MetalScreamerVlogs Thank you very much. It's funny you say that about the box, I was planning on trying that today. So far my handstand looks like a banana so being straight up against the wall doesn't feel natural yet. But I know it will come. I will definitely look into the cartwheel bail right now. Thank you for taking time to talk to me.

Yeah keep in a safe position for you while building more conditioning, increasing flexibility and confidence. You should never need to bail from a chest to wall conditioning hold, if you feel like you are going to something is in the wrong position as you should be leaning on the wall. Saying that it is good start to explore exit strategy in a safe way, the box, wall walking etc can all help. The big thing is just giving it time and don’t rush

stick with the easier options without kicking up, walk up with feet on box or wall to build Conditioning first
