Funny how RB3 is talking about IW being an overrated movie and doesn't even want to have a conversation about Black Panther. As a foreign audience, Black Panther was the least interesting movie of all MCU. As a MCU fan, Black Panther was a good movie. But was it amazing? Nah.
same. Black Panther was meh, IW was great. Don't feel bad judging a movie just because it's supposed to be representative. Like I'm Asian but personally Crazy Rich Asians was not all that much to be crazy about.
I really enjoyed Black Panther, but it's one of those movies that EVERYONE was just in love with to the point where it made me like it a little less. Also the third act along with the horrid cgi really took me out of the movie. The effects were ridiculously bad for today's standards.
To me, I feel like it was adequate, but I feel like it has potential to have a "legendary sequel" like Dark Knight, Spider-Man 2, X2, Winter Soldier, Empire Strikes Back, etc. However, if you put the first film on such a high pedestal, I worry that even if the sequel is obviously better, it'll never get the recognition it deserves. Or it may run into an Age of Ultron problem where the first film was so successful they are too scared to deviate with the sequel.
@@connorjaegar486 My personal experience with the movie was that my friends were saying it was the best Marvel movie ever, that nothing could top it. So when I saw it, I had my expectations so high that I was kinda disappointed. It's not a bad movie in any sense, i actually quite enjoyed it, but my friends had overhyped it way too much. I think that's what he's saying.
Black Panther is hugely overrated, the character was better handled in Civil War and Infinity War. Guardians 2 was woeful compared to the first one, Ragnarok was a big improvement on Dark World but still overrated compared to other MCU movies, like most of the overrated ones for me it was a bit too joke heavy and mostly in circumstances that didn't need humour. No MCU movies have touched Civil War or Winter Soldier yet for quality overall but Infinity War came closest
Black panther is a lil overrated to me but what everybody is saying about the hype before the movie made the movie and that’s BS because we was all hype for infinity war before the movie is that movie overrated????
On paper black panther was awesome. The last 40 or so minutes of the movie brought it down Jordan's portrayal of killmonger felt a little flat. I think he missed a good opportunity. I think there was a conflict in the type of character he was portraying. Killmonger as a character on paper was good at the jump, but he fell into incompetence. Yeah i get it you infiltrate countries and burn monuments but that works because you burn and fly away. Why do that in a place where you have to win the hearts and minds of the people. You already completed a lawful rite of passage by defeating tchalla, why do what you've been doing to other countries that you eventually leave? I understand: passion and vengeance. But I'd take all of the above with intellect and competence.
@@johnluther8990 why is it overrated? What are you comparing it to or how are you critiquing it? Are they fun, engaging comic book movies that are cringe worthy/cheese fests? Yes, absolutely. Everyone know defending venom and calling it incredible but all the top movies of the MCU are overrated? It's insane
Hold on but Black Panther IS the most overrated. It’s NOT bad, it’s just overrated! It’s okay for people to say that. I also believe Guardians 2, Dr. Strange and others are overrated.
Guardians 2 was poor compared to the first. I diddent mind Dr Strange but Black Panther ive seen twice and i dont understand why it has such high ratings its a decent time waster at best.
Roxy bro, wtf. Criticises Strange for being obnoxious when that's one of the fundamental aspects of his personality lmao. GOTG 2 was not funny for the most part imo, GOTG 1 was absolutely phenomenal.
To be honest, every MCU movie is overrated as hell. Don't get me wrong; they're entertaining movies, but people praising it like cinematic masterpieces, really need to watch more movies. Only then you'll realise how formulaic and generic MCU movies are.
There is literally nobody that praise it as cinematic masterpieces, people like it because it's like watching a Big Budget TV Serial, and the characters
Vid Šteh I’ve literally never heard a single person claim that even the best MCU movies are true cinematic masterpieces, on the same level as Lawrence of Arabia or The Godfather.
I feel that people who DON'T like MCU movies are the ones that just pretend everyone is calling them master peices. The majority of people see them as just fun, well made comic book movies. The "mcu is trash" and "it's all overrated" crowds giving every single superhero movie outside the MCU a pass and say "it's just s fun comic book movie" but if the MCU isn't fuckong citizen kane than it's a huge peice of garbage
Lmao all these people saying they never heard others call marvel movies masterpieces. I have seen people call winter soldier, infinty war, civil war, heck even black panther better than masterpieces like the dark knight or spiderman 2
She thinks everything good was crap and seems to only like the crap stuff. I don't know if she's just a generally negative person or trying to be edgy. But G2 was pretty limp.
Algiers C There’s no scene in G1 that has more heart than Yondu’s death at the end of G2. That’s not even counting Gamora and Nebula’s dinamic and Star Lord and Ego
G1 not only had more heart, it had better pacing, better character development, better characterization, better writing, better jokes, better pacing, better soundtrack. G2 sucked until the 3rd act. It was a massive disappointment. Dr. Strange is Godfather compared to G2.
@@karnak333 I agree with you in that it had better pacing and jokes than almost always landed. But I really don't think G1 had better characterisation, I mean, I didn't give a shit about Yondu until G2, I love how Rocket has grown as a character from G1 to G2, Gamora and Nebula where kinda boring in the first film, but after G2 I'm more invested in both of their characters. Don't get me wrong fam, G1 is a great film, but I think G2 makes G1 an even better film. In terms of the soundtrack, music is very subjective, so FOR ME G2 is a tad better than G1, but G1 had an instant classic with Hooked on a Feeling, so, I don't know. The thing is, Guardians 2 made me cry with Father and Son, and it made me understand instantly how the characters felt with The Chain. Also, I think it had better cinematography, the colours pop more and I also think it had better camera work. Their both great movies tho, and amongst the best of the MCU.
Roxy keeps coming off petulant, abrasive and unable to explain her opinions. Its like all she ever expresses is 'because i said so' and 'because other ppl annoy me'. She brings no value to the discussion. I'd love to hear a well articulated and insightful argument to go with the strong opinion- at what point do we call that she's incapable or unwilling?
Shes there because she is a good looking girl. Lets call a spade a spade. She is taking the spot of someone who actually knows what they are talking about
Ragnorak is overrated. Nothing from the Thor mythology mattered, No Sif, the warriors 3 are punked out and replaced in one or two scenes, the only interesting thing from Dark World was the ending of Loki becoming King by impersonating Odin and instead it's a throw away joke. There was no reason to use the Ragnorak title for that movie. The Sif thing bothers me the most. Doesn't even mention her or look for her.
The actress couldn't attend filming due to her obligations to the TV series, Blindspot, where she's the lead character. She did appear as a small child in the play.
not to mention that concept of Ragnarok is supposed to be the End of the days, not a plot point. Thor creating Ragnarok to destroy Asgard and save people is stupid. As if Ragnarok is really the end of the people. It's not just Asgard being destroyed or Surtur. Also was treated like a bitch. He was easily beaten by Thor at the beginning.
SensaiChill i agree with you completely, but I found after watching recently the movie again am enjoyable for some reason, also is the Thor character bridge to get the best version of him in infinity war.
If your black (and I am) you're viewing Black Panther differently. I literally had tears watching the movie. That being said, I understand why people say its overrated. It had lots of flaws ( CGI). Still love it. But I get it.
Yet I visited plenty of forums where black people that were critical about Black Panther. There are always people with sharp minds in every races. There was this guy that was critical about the role they were giving to Black Panther as opposed to Killion. And we agreed that Killion was more interesting.
I agree. It also depends on how knowledgeable you are about your culture and roots and the experiences you have as black people. I agree though. Black panther is overrated by white apologists but underrated by some black people.
If you're black and a true black panther fan...then you of all people should be highly disappointed with the film. THAT wasn't black panther...that was President Obama vs 2pac Shakur. And the idea that Shuri is the tech genius instead of him really takes away from the character. They made black panther a Butler to Captain America. The storyline in the cartoon was much better and more realistic.
@@ultimatemagneto3354 I agree. Although I won't claim to know anything about BP outside the films really I watched the full BET series adapted from reginald hudlin's comic and T'challa was a far more aggressive and independent leader in that. I prefer that honestly and the MCU made him safe so ither races didn't feel threatened. He is a straight savage in that in the MCU they play it safe and water him down considerably like all things in the MCU.
I know it’s already been said but I got to go with Black Panther for most overrated. It’s not bad but it certainly isn’t as good as people think. Also I really like Dr. strange
Kyle You can think it’s not that good to you, but you can’t say it’s not as good as people think. Basically you’re telling people they’re wrong for liking it as much as they do.
@@Blitz-dm3kv Ok, Captain Marvel is forgettable so I don't remember anything. Guardians of the Galaxy is straight out hot garbage, disgrace to sci-fi movies, it's something I've seen like thousands of times. Winter Soldier is my favorite, but First Avenger and Civil War sucks. Have you ever heard of this ol' Marvel story formula where most MCU movies follow? It was all started by Iron Man 1.
The girl's opinion has zero credibility and knowledge grounds. She simply likes bad stuff "just because".She has no valid points and no reasonable logic to back her choices. "I hate this, I hate that" ...."I don't know why, but I hate it".... how annoying. Why is she even in the panel at all?
Thanos is overrated to me. Far from threatening. Looks like a giant purple CGI turd and his reasoning to destroy half the Universe is dumb as fuck. Just my opinion.
I will probably get a lot of hate over this but my most overrated MCU by far is Thor: Ragnarok. I absolutely hate that movie. I almost walked out after the first 20 minutes because I thought it was so stupid. The humor just did not work for me at all. It seems 99% love the movie and lose their minds over it but not me.
I hear ya,I reluctantly sat in my seat the whole time,I almost walked out about half an hour near the end,but I something sick inside me had to watch this dumpster fire,I’ve never watched it’ again since it’s opening day,and never will
@Brian Dubya It's not hate, I WANT Tom Holland to be a good Spider-man. The lukewarm reception from most Raimi fans has everything to do with how Peter Parker's central themes are handled with this MCU version. I'd urge you to watch "Spider-Man: Homecoming is a Bad SPIDER-MAN Movie (Video Essay)" by HiTop Films on YT. He sums it up to a tee.
*Infinity War* is the biggest achievement in cinema in the recent history. How could it be possibly overrated? *Black Panther* is the most overrated. Not socially, but as a movie. Socially, Black Panther deserves every applause it gets. *Guardians of the Galaxy Vol.1* the most overrated. *Vol.2* one of the most underrated in the MCU.
the reason i HATE the "overrated" comment is because all it means is that you dont think it should be as liked as it is. and in my opinion, overrated is a word that shouldnt exist since its basically about telling others that their taste is wrong. never forget, every time you call something overrated, there's someone else with the same level of knowledge who belives something you love is overrated as well...
Black panther is so overrated. It’s a shame people can’t say that without being accused of trying to start shit or undermining the films cultural importance. I think most of us who didn’t like or love the film understand it’s importance (as a good thing) but not necessarily liking it as just a film.
James D. Portillo no the only person who’s trying to start something is you you’re the one is crying about it I think that the movie was a good movie but was it great no
James D. Portillo I know! I feel like those who say it’s overrated, or didn’t like it are labeled as shameful, disgraceful, tasteless people. That we’re the ones being judged and frowned upon, then told our opinion is invalid or doesn’t matter. Having said all that, I liked it, but it gets way too much praise.
While I liked it, Civil War is definitely the most overrated MCU film. Civil War, despite having a high stake title, had no stakes at all. To me, it was like a bunch of friends play fighting until 1 friend goes to far and then a real fight starts and then it's broken up before it goes too far. While I get its importance in the the film series, I never once felt tense in the entire film until Tony went after Bucky. In the Civil War comics there were stakes because their were massive consequences throughout the run.
Civil War movie was much better than shithole that was comics. Maria Hill trying to arrest Steve just because he was expressing his opinion before Registration Act even passed, Tony Stark locking his own friend in a Negative Zone which drives people insane and claiming that they'll be there forever (like he changed his mind about it like 3-4 times for no reason), Spiderman like a complete dumbass revealing his identity even though he has a fucking wife and aunt that can get in trouble (oh yeah, this shithole of a comic lead to another shithole called One More Day), Tony using Thor's robot clone even after it kills Goliath (seriously, he's just a moustache twirling Hitler at that point). Non of the characters except Cap had any strong reasons to be against or for registration. Even Cap suddenly turns into complete idiot by the end of the comics, going against his own fucking words (Plant yourself like a tree line), hypocritical idiot for that matter. These characters act completely out of character, with no explanation, no realistic development, it's just them doing edgy bullshit. Like why does Tony turn into an asshole even though at that point he was close friends with other heroes? Is there a reason? Does he explain it? No, we have a stupid explanation - Reed, Pym, and Tony, let's call them trio of assholes, suddenly deciding to go and hunt those who don't agree with them like nazies. Now let's look at the movie, it did something comic absolutely failed to do - focus on characters. Why doesn't Steve want to sign accords? Because he doesn't like government's methods, he doesn't want to become their weapons "What if there is somewhere we need to go, and they don't let us". Tony on the other hand, believes that heroes are way too powerful to operate without supervision, that they need to be kept in check, his motives come from him creating Ultron, if there was a supervision, they wouldn't have let him do it. Both characters have basis for accords, strong basis that are both logical and psychological. Another thing that movie does great is showcase both sides as equals, unlike shitty comic that turns Tony's side into tyrannical monsters. This time heroes who disagree do not need to be forced to sign, they just need to stop operating illegally and retire, not thrown into a fucking Negative Zone. Oh, and stakes? So movie flips the cliches on its head, making the stake to be fully about characters and their emotional stance, yet of course people are going to complain about not seeing big explosion. This movie was purely focused on characters and their flaws (especially Cap), it did something 90% of superhero movies are afraid to do - keep it grounded and small. At the end, it is revealed that even Zemo is product of Avengers's biggest flaw - Ultron. This moves themes of the movie even further, showcasing by the end that Zemo didn't force them to fight, he just proved that Steve lied, he didn't make Tony lose his mind and go against a innocent brainwashed person, he didn't make Steve lie. It's Steve and Tony's emotional baggage, their conflicts that lead to that finale, Zemo just brought them out. Also, if you want explosive stakes, if Avengers weren't separated, there wouldn't have been need for them to move around the world to try to find Vision taking tonnes of time, instead they could have stopped Thanos.
I watched that movie and expected a WAR. I got some people jumping around doing jokes, no stakes, no risk, nothing to care about. Civil War was greenlit because of BVS, and pretty much copies BVS. Like having a normal person set up super heroes against eachother.
19:25 you wanna talk crappy special effects? SPIDER-MAN HOMECOMING. That wasn’t a kid in a suit. That was a cartoon character. At least raimi’s and Webb’s Spider-Man movies had a Spider-Man that wasn’t animated throughout the whole movie
Elmer Ponce-Castro Hey everyone is entitled to their opinions & movies are subjective but I strongly disagree. Homecoming had a better overall story, better CGI, better direction, better Spider-Man, & a way better villain.
@@JDotWill i don't even like AM2 and even I can tell that it had way better CGI than Homecoming, probably the best in the franchise. In terms of story AM2 was a mess and Homecoming was generic
Uh, it's called an opinion. Dr. Strange, while entertaining, is bogged down by exposition and boring villains. The Russos used the character better in Infinity War.
Civil War dumbed down all of its characters in order for it to appear that it had more stakes. Everyone who opposes Captain America is a fool for thinking that Bucky is actually responsible for the bombing, and Captain America and his team are fools for not trying to explain the situation clearer. Tony Stark was so poorly written and out of character. He wants to sign the accords because feels responsible for a kid dying during an Avengers battle. So what does he do? He recruits a 15 year old kid to fly to Germany and puts him on the front lines in a battle against the Avengers. Later on, Tony finds out that Bucky killed his parents. He knows that Bucky was mind controlled and forced against his will to do this and it's clearly something that will haunt Bucky for the rest of his life. Instead of understanding how much pain this must place Bucky in, he completely disregards all the facts and straight up tries to murder him. Iron Man, the superhero, literally points a missile at an innocent man's face and pulls the trigger.
Avengers became outdated the moment they retconned Coulson on Agents of Shield - now it just does not hold up at all - since his 'death' was what brought emotion to the film and now that's gone. Overrated AF.
You guys will all be so wrong about GOTG VOL 2 and when you realize it I will laugh at all of your ignorance. Not only is Vol 1 the laugh fest that Harloff keeps calling Vol 2, Vol 2 even goes as far as to comment on it with the first time we see the Guardians fight that giant monster and try to escape the sovereign, they are constantly joking and not taking anything serious and that eventually leads to them being wrecked on a planet and splitting up causing the characters to grow, they need to grow from the rag tag group of the first film . I know the concept of character growth is hard for a lot of you to understand but thats exactly what Vol 2 was. The first one is a nice round em up and get the team together movie but Vol 2 actually has a real ending and not a silly dance battle ( but Vol 2 is the joke fest?) I advise you all to take another look at both films and realize what you say before you say it.
Definitely in the minority but I think the first Iron Man is a bit overrated. It has one of the best first halves of any superhero film but the film for me really loses steam once Iron Man gets back from Gulmira. The 3rd Act is pretty bad too. I definitely get why it gets so much praise though.
I agree the first two acts were perfect in my opinion and yeh 3rd act was underwhelming and wasn't as strong as the rest of the film it took away the realism of the film
Agreed as much as I love Ironman 1 I feel it's very overrated some people say it's the best movie in the MCU or it's is a perfect movie which the movie is definitely not the villain was "generic evil buissness man" and the third act turned into a bland superhero movie. I'd give the movie 8.5/10.
Even though I like the movie, Civil War is easily the most overrated movie. All people talk about when praising the movie is the airport scene, and that’s it. It also had no baring in Infinity War, which supposedly it was suppose to have a huge impact but did nothing. I’d also say Homecoming and Black Panther are overrated. They’re fine but no where near as good as some people say. Infinity War is tbd. Depends how Avengers 4 pans out. If it’s great, it’ll elevate IW but if it’s underwhelming and doesn’t deliver, then that’ll take IW down a few notches Underrated is definitely Incredible Hulk and Ant-Man
I like Civil War, but that movie is the ugliest looking big budget movie I have ever seen. The Russos visual style and cinematography is not great, though Infinity War was better in that aspect
Chavo _ because if they undo everything in an unsatisfying way, then it eliminates any impact of IW had. If there’s no lasting stakes then what’s the point? And I realize everyone who disappeared are coming back but they can’t just come back, defeat thanos and that’s it everyone goes home happy
Ant Money And 'if' IW was all set up flr Av4 rushing through a pile of tying up loose ends and such. I hope it's a fully satisfying experience where we can agree they brought it home and it's not fluffed praise.
Iron-Man 3 like Iron-Man 2 weren't good enough movies to be considered overrated?! Overrated meant the film is held in high regard by the majority of everybody else's general opinions! It'll be like saying; Thor 2: The Dark World is overrated? Huh,... The Iron-Man sequels, Thor 2 (and possibly 3?), The Incredible Hulk weren't good enough movies, to even be considered rated high enough for them to be thought of as being supposedly better films in anybody's mind. So Thor 2: The Dark World certainly wouldn't be any sort of measuring stick for'em now, would they!
I can't see how Thor Ragnarok could be overrated. It's the only Thor movie that is actually enjoyable from start to finish. I couldn't care less what story elements it "should have had" or "should not have had" when the film, as nothing but a film, works perfectly.
Respectfully disagree, I love the first Thor the most out of the 3, Ragnarok is a fun and forgettable movie Thor was a better film sure it's not perfect but I was actually interested in the story (something I can't say for Ragnarok as the movie puts comedy over story and themes the movie has themes but it's not putting it story and themes as a priority) and Loki is probably the best in that movie along with the Dark World and Avengers 2012.
Civil War is the most overrated MCU film. The plot doesn't even make sense, Zemo's plan relies on convinience and contrivance. It just doesn't add up. If Zemo had the clip all along of Winter Soldier killing Tony's dad why not youtube it? It's completely ridiculous and a poor excuse to get Captain America and Iron Man to fight each other.. Also Ant-Man and Hawkeye characterisation was thrown under a bus. Where the Ant-Man movie ends, there is no way he would come along and put himself in a position to break the law again just because Captain America wants his help, a guy he's never met. He was just making progress with his ex wife and building bridges with her and bonding with his daughter once again, why would he go along and help Cap? Regarding Hawkeye, a guy who also has family and has worked for Shield most of his life, why would he go against the establishment and help Cap? It makes no sense. He's a shield agent not a renegade. Thor: Ragnarok is also overrated. There are alot of things the first two Thor movies got right that Ragnarok didn't. I also think Thor: The Dark World is extremley underrated and in many ways the first Thor is alot better than Ragnarok. Although Ragnarok is alot of fun. The first Guardians of the Galaxy borders on being overrated as well.
It’s 20 films. It’ll be 22 at the end of Avengers 4/ aka- end of phase 3/beginning of the new era. Incidentally- 22 is the typical page count of a comic book. I would love this show if you guys hadn’t become so insufferable since Campea left, and if Kristian & Mark were ever together anymore. I did stand up with a lot of you guys, and you were genuinely good and funny dudes, but this corporate thing has changed you for the worse. Reilly, Josh, Ken, Ellis, Harloff were all great guys and so much fun. WTF happened?!!?!! And Roxy? I get that you need a soprano, but let’s face it, she’s more of a tenor, and while an aesthetically beautiful woman, she goes out of her way to insult Christians, makes EVERYTHING about her, and as undeniably talented as she is, she generally treats people like shit, thinks she’s the shit, and is the epitome of insecure. That routine is getting old like she is. And let’s not forget she’s a not so closeted cannibal. You have all the ingredients for something great, but you never get there because you’re trying to appeal to people who don’t exist, and never have.
You guys seem to think overrated = bad. Guardians 2 was disliked across the board, so how can it be overrated? Ant Man and the Wasp didn't have particularly good reviews either and most people thought it was just ok. So how is that overrated?
Iron Man 3 is actually super underrated. It’s a marvel movie that finally let a little director style leak into it. Just imagine if Shane was able to do Demons in a Bottle story line.
For me BP is not overrated, only issue I had was killing Klaw to early and the CG. People just can’t stand how successful it was and how much it meant to a lot of people.
Black Panther WAS NOT overrated. Hear me out. Black Panther was popular because of its content not for its quality. People wanted to see the comic industries first black superhero on screen. It was popular for that reason not for its actual movie content.
I still don't see the poor writing, because they all have good counter to those "poor writings"(aka people that try to find plot holes but overlook everything like the timestone can't be used like Dormmamu since they're not in the same dimension)
Well in Doctor Strange it was blantanly stupid how Doctor Strange defeated Dormmamu with the time stone in a place where time doesn't exist. They really didn't think this through. Strange should have had the reality gem from the get-go, not the time gem. It's everything that Strange is about reality-bending. He was created in the 60s and the subplot was that he was basically a super-hero on drugs accessing to the most fucked up places. Anyway in the comics he doesn't have any gems but still. They had ONE JOB.
I just think it's useless. I mean even the way he "defeated" Dormammu was rather questionable. A time loop repeating the same thing. If Dormammu had been patient, we still will be there watching the movie. What if Strange himself gets fed up. lol
Joshua Myers The reasons why I love it though. 1 it got rid of Darcy who was so annoying in the first two Thor movies. 2 Natalie Portman's Jane Foster is not that interesting so I am glad she was not there. If they made her more interesting like Rosario Dawson is in the Netflix shows that I would have liked her character more. She was badly written. 3 The villain is awesome 4 the humor was great 5 The Hulk was done well. What I do not like is the Warriors Three are killed off with Thor not mourning them and no one asks where Sif is. I know Jamie Alexander could not be in the movie but the movie should explain why she is not there. We just have to guess she was banished by Loki when he took over.
its predictable because its true. cgi was shit, action was barely there cause of shaky cam. it can't be criticised because "the blacks" and all anyone every praises it for is that it has a "all black cast". who gives a shit if you have a bland story and a wasted protagonist. What i am trying to say is that if you judge it as a film it's just meh. But its being hyped because it has a supposed cultural impact, which i find kind of patronising to black people
it is when when it takes you out of the film. for example, the audience in the waterfall fight was cgi and it became distracting, thus taking attention away from what was supposed to be a pretty important scene in the movie
The word overrated is so annoying just because you dont like something as much as everyone els that makes the majority wrong? No it just means you didn't like it and thats fine but it doesn't make the movie overrated. Every movie is overrated to someone so this discussion is just stupid.
Winter soldier & Civil War were my favorite MCU movies but I unexpectedly loved Doctor Strange and the first guardians of the galaxy. Black Panther will also be one of my favorites because it was so well done and I got to see people that look like me in this same universe that I love kicking ass
The comparison that Iron Man 3 didn't have a pay off like Thor Ragnarok doesn't make any sense - yeah sure Thor got his new powers, but in the end, he didn't defeat Hela either and it was Surtur who had to come in and do it. Thor only managed to figure out who he is. The same is for Tony, yeah he didn't defeat Killian and Pepper did, but Tony figured out that he didn't need the suits to be Iron Man because the hero isn't the suit, it's him. And the whole notion that Iron Man 3 was making fun? I completely disagree, the whole movie actually addressed Tony having an anxiety issue and trying to overcome it to still do what he needed to do. And I will defend it to this day that the Mandarin switch was the best part of the movie. I didn't need another fu-manchu middle eastern terrorist representation, the fact that the movie took that whole thing and flipped it on its head to make the white guy manipulating things to create the stereotypical middle eastern terrorist while actually being the terrorist is such a perfect subversion that it was about time. Iron Man 3 is for me one of the better MCU movies because it explored Tony on his own and trying to find himself again - if he doesn't have that movie, he wouldn't be the person he is now, he wouldn't be able to tell Peter Parker that "if you're nothing without the suit then you shouldn't have it" - it took him a whole movie to learn - I put Iron Man 3 as one of the most underrated movies and it's only ruined by fandom expectation and whining over the Mandarin thing.
Difference was, Thor managed to get SEVERAL badass moments in his movie, whereas Tony was like a bitch throughout Iron Man 3 and at the end it's Pepper that saves the day. He barely got into an armor and they have the gaul to call it "Iron Man". He spent the whole fucking movie talking to a boring kid. The second half of the movie was basically flying armors on autopilot vs faceless exploding soldiers. There was nothing at stakes. It was like Attack of the Clones. Clones vs Drones.
Black Panther is underrated. It elevated the MCU with real world subject matter. The CGI in the third act wasn't that great but this is the best ensemble cast for a movie in the MCU sans Avengers movies. I cared about every character that came on the screen.
I respect Harloff’s opinion but I completely disagree with him on Guardians 2. It’s not really a joke fest at all, sure the characters makes a lot of jokes, but I think the movie rather than just trying to be a bigger and better movie rather focus more on developing the characters. Hell it helped make Gamora, Nebula, and Yondu more interesting than they were in the first Guardians and Rocket goes through an arc where the reason he was being a dick because he was afraid of pushing people away and that he needs to learn how to become less cynical and selfish. Again not bashing you, just don’t see where you’re coming from. P.S: Spider Man 2 still holds up!
Marco's Movies How can you think Doctor Strange is overrated? It made the least amount of money out of all the recent MCU films and people are only interested in the character now after Infinity War.
Black panther was definitely the most overrated. People thought it was great because it was a mostly black cast. They didn't care much about anything else.
CRITICISM OF MARVEL????? Is this even allowed on the internet?? Have they lifted the embargo??? Are we free??? Hallelujah!! The answer by the way is ALL of them.
Matthew - Indeed bro - and from Collider....the checks must have not cleared...they are finally calling these films overrated as 20 or so are. ...even Infinity War. OVERRATED SCHLOCK....Assembly line garbage.
@@johnluther8990 oh wow, a crazy conspiracy theorist who is mad that people don't enjoy cheap, tonal messes of a film full of 90s corny humor like he does. Awww.

The whole MCU is overrated!! The Winter Soldier- Great! Iron Man- Great! The Avengers- Good! Guardians 1- Good! Doctor Strange- Good! Spider-Man- Good! Black Panther- Decent Guardians 2- Decent Thor- Underrated The Incredible Hulk- Underrated And a whole bunch of meh!!
So the majority of movies are great or good but it's overrated? Most people are pretty up front about the movies that fall short but you even showed in your list that the majority are good to great? What else do you want? Lol
I think the most underrated MCU movies are Captain America 1, Iron Man 3 (critically, not box-office based), and The Incredible Hulk. Infinity War, Civil War, Homecoming, Winter Soldier, and Guardians 1 are right where they should be.
Most overrated - Black panther, Guardians 2 and Civil war. Most underrated - First Avenger, Thor, Ultron Top strongest - Iron man, Winter soldier, Homecoming Top weakest - Thor 2, Antman, Ironman 2
the whole disney brand is overrated from the terrible marvel franchise (i mean if people think their "best" movies are overrated then how can it be considered a good franchise?), to the unwatchable star wars, the uncreative live action reboots that are a shit stain to the original animated movies disney is the one that is overrated
who says? the movie goer that knows nothing about movies or an a-list film makers? cuz if it's the a-list film makers then i haven't hear ANY say how that disney movie was inspiring, or how a disney movie pushted hollywood to another direction or how it will be a classic and so on and the more i learn about film the more i see how disney knows how to fabricate the same old shtick just to make MONEY not a great movie. nothing wrong with making average movies but let's stop bullshiting ourselves with mediocrity. make or see a list of the best movies ever, the best movies of the last century and the best movies of this century (not your favorite movies cuz that's another conversation) and see where disney stands
Well most critics and movie goers say they're good(like I said the world is bigger than both of us), and my favorite art the ebst movies(because it's all subjective anyway, I can show you what's my favorite if you want)
let's stop with this subjectivity bullshit for a second. we need to understand subjectivity to actually talk about it. subjectivity has nothing to do with art. PERIOD. how many people love a winnie the pooh movie? does that mean it's in the best movie list cuz most people like it? now tarkovsky movies how many people like it? but you can understand why a tarkovsky movie is amazing. subjectivity has nothing to with art overall. now with critics. most critics know absolutely nothing about movies. a lot of them were failed film makers and now are reviewing movies of others cuz couldn't make their own like most of the collider crew. how many great movies got terrible reviews and are classics and one of the best? if it were to the critics kubrick would have been a terrible director because at his time critics hated him and butchered his movies and it's because of those critics he got razzie nominations for the shinning. you actually believe critics like mark ellis or perri knows what makes a great movie? or that critic that loves giving bad reviews for the sake of it like collider has stated? isn't there a critic that has a medical condition and falls asleep during movies yet gives his opinion onn movies? your telling me that critics are trust worthy? i'll trust critics if there's a website or a group of film makers that reivews movies. make film makers review there own not people like collider
Yes, it is subjective, whether you like it or not, and yes the critics and movie goers are what brings thousands/millions of voice with movie talks, not "Chads" like you(which You are a complete joke btw), good night young mister
Wat does somebody else lovin something have to do w u ur a hater
KILLMONGER X He was just sharing his opinion. And i agree with that opinion. Hit the nail on the head for me, personally.
Unknown his opinion is weird. Why does people liking a movie make him not like it? Do peoples enjoyment make him unhappy???
@@connorjaegar486 My personal experience with the movie was that my friends were saying it was the best Marvel movie ever, that nothing could top it.
Blake St Clair BP was the best part of Civil War behind Spiderman
Kevin Pauly add Bucky to that list and I completely agree
Blake St Clair definitely
Civil war was overrated
Black panther is a lil overrated to me but what everybody is saying about the hype before the movie made the movie and that’s BS because we was all hype for infinity war before the movie is that movie overrated????

The last 40 or so minutes of the movie brought it down
Jordan's portrayal of killmonger felt a little flat.

Hold on but Black Panther IS the most overrated. It’s NOT bad, it’s just overrated! It’s okay for people to say that. I also believe Guardians 2, Dr. Strange and others are overrated.
Guardians 2 was poor compared to the first. I diddent mind Dr Strange but Black Panther ive seen twice and i dont understand why it has such high ratings its a decent time waster at best.
@RheyaRu!z I agree. BP is a good movie but many have it really high up as one of the MCUs best and it isn't (imo)
I don't think Guardians 2 is overrated it got shitted on and most people consider the first to be way better including myself.
Actually yes Black Panther is pretty bad. Not just overrated. It's one of the worst MCU movies.
@RheyaRu!z BP and WW are both overrated but black panther has more of a culture impact then WW.
Only then you'll realise how formulaic and generic MCU movies are.
i don't care for that, i just watch what i like.

She thinks G2 was better than G1? Disagree. G1 had more feeling and heart.

What? So you felt nothing when Tony asked Cap if he knew?
He literally just said that Tony vs. Cap and Bucky was the only real moment in the movie. Read his comment again.
Finally someone else who agrees
Of course the they panic and run At even The Mention Of Black Panther. It's a great movie but it is definitely overrated

Avengers has aged like fine wine in my opinion. I love that older style. I can't stand the glossy style of late, honestly.
Brynley Jones Avengers is overrated.
Avengers became outdated the moment they retconned Coulson on Agents of Shield - now it just does not hold up at all - since his 'death' was what brought emotion to the film and now that's gone. Overrated AF.
I think infinity war is overrated I like it it's good but not amazing.
You have to love the fact that no one EVER thought of doing a most overrated MCU film list until Black Panther's commercial/critical success lmao!!!
The original list didn’t even have black panther tho 😂
Definitely in the minority but I think the first Iron Man is a bit overrated. It has one of the best first halves of any superhero film but the film for me really loses steam once Iron Man gets back from Gulmira. The 3rd Act is pretty bad too. I definitely get why it gets so much praise though.
I agree the first two acts were perfect in my opinion and yeh 3rd act was underwhelming and wasn't as strong as the rest of the film it took away the realism of the film
It's not overrated, it's a perfect movie for me.

Every spiderman movie is ok
Gosh... is Roxy annoyed all the time?! Jeez
Not fair to say Iron Man is overrated at this point in the MCU. It was great and set the tone for everything else.
If it’s great, it’ll elevate IW but if it’s underwhelming and doesn’t deliver, then that’ll take IW down a few notches
Underrated is definitely Incredible Hulk and Ant-Man
I like Civil War, but that movie is the ugliest looking big budget movie I have ever seen. The Russos visual style and cinematography is not great, though Infinity War was better in that aspect
Ant Money lol what does the quality of Avengers 4 have anything to do with how good Infinity War was?
I don't think a lot of people overrate it. Most people put Winter Soldier over it.
Chavo _ because if they undo everything in an unsatisfying way, then it eliminates any impact of IW had. If there’s no lasting stakes then what’s the point? And I realize everyone who disappeared are coming back but they can’t just come back, defeat thanos and that’s it everyone goes home happy
Ant Money
And 'if' IW was all set up flr Av4 rushing through a pile of tying up loose ends and such. I hope it's a fully satisfying experience where we can agree they brought it home and it's not fluffed praise.
Top 5 overrated
1) ragnarok
2) gotg 2
3) black panther
4) dr strange
5) civil war
@Spider-Man Not sure I agree.
@Spider-Man I agree but you posted via reply to my post which indicated you wanted my attention so I responded.
4:00 Kristian couldn't have said it better 😉 You'd think he saw the future
I wish the girl and the dude with the black tshirt were gone.....
cant take them seriously
You guys seem to think overrated = bad.
Guardians 2 was disliked across the board, so how can it be overrated?
Ant Man and the Wasp didn't have particularly good reviews either and most people thought it was just ok. So how is that overrated?
Guardians 2 was not disliked across the board.
@@johnnyskinwalker4095 I'm just going by the comments I read about it
Iron Man 3
GotG
Civil War
Black Panther
Iron Man 3 is definitely not overrated. Most people have that on the lower half of their MCU lists.
When did people start overrating Iron Man 3?
Civil War? Black Panther? Nah.
Iron Man 3 is actually super underrated. It’s a marvel movie that finally let a little director style leak into it. Just imagine if Shane was able to do Demons in a Bottle story line.
Ironman 3 is underrated not overrated.
For me BP is not overrated, only issue I had was killing Klaw to early and the CG. People just can’t stand how successful it was and how much it meant to a lot of people.
The worst MCU movie is still better than any DCU film.
None in the comment section typed a truer statement than this one.
Frost Nixon I’ll take Man of Steel and Wonderwoman over Thor and thor the Dark World but that’s it
Austin fair .. lots of folks like Man of Steel, I was bored to tears. Wonder W. is a good movie.
Wrong.
I'll take Wonder Woman over all of those movies. I'd give anything to burn a 20 foot pile of Man of Steel DVDs.
Black Panther WAS NOT overrated. Hear me out. Black Panther was popular because of its content not for its quality. People wanted to see the comic industries first black superhero on screen. It was popular for that reason not for its actual movie content.
Blade was FIRST and much better.
Blade was not first. Meteor Man was on the movie screen. Black panther was the first black superhero created under marvel.
Blade was the first superhero under Marvel - revisionist MCU historian...lmfao....and Spawn was before BP too. re-learn your history.
Blade was first introduced in 1973, BP was 1966, and Spawn was in 1992. I mean if you are going to be wrong don't be THAT wrong...
We are clearly talking about films brother. Blade the film ushered in Marvel cinema and is better than any of this MCU shit.
Black Panther=OVERRATED
Are people not allowed to dislike Black Panther because it's a black cast...
Nobody said that
4:01 - Now we literally do have an End Game in the franchise lol
Infinity War is by far the most overrated
Agreed. I thought the writing in particular was poor but people didn't see it cause they love the characters
They said it in the movie, he brought in time from out dimension and brought it to Dormmamu's realm(that's why the loop worked as it did)
I just think it's useless. I mean even the way he "defeated" Dormammu was rather questionable. A time loop repeating the same thing. If Dormammu had been patient, we still will be there watching the movie. What if Strange himself gets fed up. lol
Gotg2 is underrated, so much fun - a good serious throughline on family! But I understand the argument against it
Iron Man is overrated ohmyyyyyyyy
Black panther is overrated it’s like a 7 outa 10 but people say it’s one of the best mcu movies.
I think Ragnorak is highly overrated
Agree. Its the FUNNIEST!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Not the BEST.
I concur
Joshua Myers But are any of the Thor movies better than Ragnorak? No. That is why I love it.
3 The villain is awesome
4 the humor was great
5 The Hulk was done well.
What I do not like is the Warriors Three are killed off with Thor not mourning them and no one asks where Sif is. I know Jamie Alexander could not be in the movie but the movie should explain why she is not there. We just have to guess she was banished by Loki when he took over.
Iron Man is hella dated.
Roxy loves the last jedi and hate Dr. Strange?? WTF
Obviously everyone in the comments section is going say Black Panther. TH-cam comments are so predictable
its predictable because its true. cgi was shit, action was barely there cause of shaky cam. it can't be criticised because "the blacks" and all anyone every praises it for is that it has a "all black cast". who gives a shit if you have a bland story and a wasted protagonist. What i am trying to say is that if you judge it as a film it's just meh. But its being hyped because it has a supposed cultural impact, which i find kind of patronising to black people
@@parv6951 visible cgi is not always "shit"
it is when when it takes you out of the film. for example, the audience in the waterfall fight was cgi and it became distracting, thus taking attention away from what was supposed to be a pretty important scene in the movie
The word overrated is so annoying just because you dont like something as much as everyone els that makes the majority wrong? No it just means you didn't like it and thats fine but it doesn't make the movie overrated. Every movie is overrated to someone so this discussion is just stupid.
Black Panther was the best one. I am not too crazy about the rest, to be honest.
I wouldn't say that Black Panther is underrated, it is a pretty highly acclaimed film.
Thor: The Dark World is the worst MCU film.
I wouldn't say it's overrated thats the general consensus. Not to many people think that's a good movie.
I know it's not overrated, I think everyone is in agreement that it is probably the worst and most forgettable.
It’s awful,truly a piece of shit
No I don't agree at all. Incredible Hulk, Iron Man 2 and Guardians 2 are all worse than Thor: The Dark World.
Civil War and Age of Ultron for me, overrated af.
I really wanna know how many of these "every marvel movie is overrated" people absolutely LOVED venom.
I think Doctor Strange is extremely overrated, and I also think Winter Soldier is slightly overrated.
Marco's Movies How can you think Doctor Strange is overrated? It made the least amount of money out of all the recent MCU films and people are only interested in the character now after Infinity War.
LF Drumming people say it’s a good movie, while I’ll say it’s an okay movie
@@Mimcus716 so its overrated because you think its okay
@@lfdrumming7804 "least amount of money" yeah so money indicates the quality of a movie
🙄
Matthew - Indeed bro - and from Collider....the checks must have not cleared...they are finally calling these films overrated as 20 or so are. ...even Infinity War. OVERRATED SCHLOCK....Assembly line garbage.
@@johnluther8990 oh wow, a crazy conspiracy theorist who is mad that people don't enjoy cheap, tonal messes of a film full of 90s corny humor like he does. Awww.
Ant-Man and the Wasp, hands down. Lackluster characterization and a bare-bones plot make it one of the MCU's most forgettable entries.
Black Panther
I’m a nerd, I thought I would never thought I would see none of theses comic book characters on the big screen. I remember seen those Marvel 80’s movies fever bad, when I saw them has adult. I do appreciated all theses movies, I don’t have to seen them has a cartoon or a tv show.
Yeah, I never really got interested in the
Guardians movies. Agree.
Most overrated Gurdians 2,Black panther, and the avengers
Most underrated Both Ant man movies,Thor,The first avenger
Of course people would say Black Panther...
YES GAY PANTHER WAS SHIT

@RheyaRu!z this.. all this!
Black panther is my #1 MCU movie. It's also my 7yr old twin daughter's favorite movie period.
The whole MCU is overrated!!
The Winter Soldier- Great!

Doctor Strange- Good!
Spider-Man- Good!
Black Panther- Decent
Guardians 2- Decent
Thor- Underrated
The Incredible Hulk- Underrated

You nailed it👌🏻
Anton Thanks! Infinity War is not included in my list because I haven't watched it yet.
Captain America 1 and 3 are also good and great, Thor 3 is great, Ant-Man is good, Avengers 1 and 3 are good and great, Iron Man 3 is solid
Antman is meh?
So the majority of movies are great or good but it's overrated? Most people are pretty up front about the movies that fall short but you even showed in your list that the majority are good to great? What else do you want? Lol
So you decided to read comment section
My boi, you should think about this twice.
Underrated Comment
Black Pantha, Dr Strange overated! :P
I think the most underrated MCU movies are Captain America 1, Iron Man 3 (critically, not box-office based), and The Incredible Hulk. Infinity War, Civil War, Homecoming, Winter Soldier, and Guardians 1 are right where they should be.
This chick is the worse lol
Most overrated - Black panther, Guardians 2 and Civil war.
Most underrated - First Avenger, Thor, Ultron
Top strongest - Iron man, Winter soldier, Homecoming
Top weakest - Thor 2, Antman, Ironman 2
the whole disney brand is overrated from the terrible marvel franchise (i mean if people think their "best" movies are overrated then how can it be considered a good franchise?), to the unwatchable star wars, the uncreative live action reboots that are a shit stain to the original animated movies
disney is the one that is overrated
Because those people all say their good movies, that's why it's considered a good franchise, the world is bigger than me and you
who says? the movie goer that knows nothing about movies or an a-list film makers? cuz if it's the a-list film makers then i haven't hear ANY say how that disney movie was inspiring, or how a disney movie pushted hollywood to another direction or how it will be a classic and so on
and the more i learn about film the more i see how disney knows how to fabricate the same old shtick just to make MONEY not a great movie. nothing wrong with making average movies but let's stop bullshiting ourselves with mediocrity. make or see a list of the best movies ever, the best movies of the last century and the best movies of this century (not your favorite movies cuz that's another conversation) and see where disney stands
