I'd argue that The Two Towers has the best battle scenes, has the best Frodo/Sam/Gollum interactions, and the best story. The Rohirrim bring an urgency and grounding to the conflict while the Gondorians fall into the background. Even with city in flames, you don't really fell the sense of hopelessness you find in The Two Towers. It also doesn't have to bother with setting up or ending the story, like the other two are required to do, and personal preference picks the Uruk-hai and the Ents over the Oliphants. I'll concede that The Two Towers has the worst CGI/green moment. However, I thought the use of the ghosts in the Battle of Pelennor Fields was anti-climatic. Sam and Frodo's arch really dragged, especially towards the end.

Superman is far better than Superman 2 and only confused people would think otherwise. Superman 2 just a battle. Supeman 1 had the whole thing, Superman's birth, him being raised at Smallville, his first appearance in Metropolis, etc..and i agree the Superman 2 DC is greater than the original Superman 2. One of the best DC I have ever seen, a whole new movie.
the problem with aliens is hard to compare with alien because of a different genre, if you like action over horror then for sure aliens better, but if not, then alien better, aliens is more watchable because it is lighter

Does anyone else find the original Mad Max trilogy to be decent ("watch them once and never again" types of films), but not really as iconic as many individuals believe? In my opinion, Mad Max: Fury Road was the peak entry of that particular franchise. Although, I truly think Fury Road belongs within the same category that every Mel Gibson installment falls into by being watchable and technically audacious, but still not nearly as deserving of classic film status.
"Better" I really don't like to think that way. Sure can be obvious and I understand Empire now but honestly remember in 80 as a kid absolutely hating it. New Hope was just my discovery of amazement by a film getting out of kiddie movies for me.

I think the original Friday the 13th has a great mood and atmosphere, it's very eerie and creepy. The musical score is fantastic too, which adds to that eerie atmosphere.
Just like Terminator & Gremlins, Friday is a completely different film. The first is a thriller based in reality. The second becomes a supernatural slasher.

I think Road Warrior is the better Mad Max sequel. Tom Hardy is a great actor, but I didn't really buy his performance as Max compared to Mel Gibson.
I really liked superman returns but it's no way near superman the original which I still think is the best superman movie we've ever had. And i like Kate bosworth my second favourite Lois lane below Margot Kidder.

Jeremy Villaroman I like TFA and TLJ but they are retreaded plot points taken from the OT so they will never be ranked higher then them for me. The ST is like a good cover band where they are playing all the hits, but in the end there’s nothing original.
I respect The Last Jedi and the Throne Room sequence might be the best scene from any Star Wars movie, but I’ve still yet to watch it all the way through since I saw it in theaters, and has so many issues. A good movie no doubt, just nothing more than that imo

Christian Ogden While it’s a great Sequel, Batman Begins is an OK movie. Empire Strikes Back, Godfather 2 and T2 had to outdue a classic original film so that’s why those movies hold so much more cred.

Obviously, nobody there is real horror fans if they think Evil Dead 2 is better than the original! The original is a horror classic. Part 2 was just a campy movie... Bad job guys with that one!
