    Wow that’s amazing. I hope my lab ends up looking like yours one day. Those cold cathode X-ray tube are really not easy to come by, I’m still working on one that’s powerful and efficient enough lol.
    Brilliant work, keep it up, you’ve got the most interesting TH-cam channel.

    This ionic wind is the solution for a near silent vacuum cleaner and leafblower.

    Thanks for the video! There are so many videos about high-voltage applications and ion wind out there, but this is one of the best!
    Maybe you can answer my question: Can you explain what exactly are the physical/chemical properties that make a good dielectric material? Dipole characteristics, semi-conductivity etc...
    I'm especially interested in affordable, available and non-toxic materials (so e.g. not something like gallium arsenide ;-)) and alternatives to glas or acrylic glass. E.g. what would be good additives to mix with epoxy resin to make a good dielectric material? Silica powder? Titanium dioxide? I subscribed and activated the bell icon in order to be notified in case you will answer this in a future episode, but an answer here directly would also be amazing. Thanks!

    2:43 Does it mean that air in your room will be better or worse after O3, NO and NO2 are created?

    What happens if a gas like neon or argon is puffed into an air corona?

    The three phases of Plasma Discharge Modes should be explained more fully in my opinion, rather one being an intermediate stage towards an arc. They are PDM 1, Dark Mode and where there isn't enough power density in the discharge to be seen in visible to human wavelengths of the Electromagnetic Spectrum. PDM 2, Glow Mode and where there is an increase in power density in the discharge and can be seen by humans and PDM 3, Arc Mode and which has such a high density that the discharge enough of magnetic field to restrict the discharge into a tight filament.

    What are you using to produce the high freq high voltage current?

      I used 120V to 2000V AC transformer and fed the 2kV output to a 13 stage half-wave voltage multiplier!

      Yeah.. this is my first video ever so did a pretty bad job. I will figure it out without having to reupload it. I also need to change the thumbnail since it could be very misleading, because "Antihydrogen Annihilation" is my old channel name. Thank you for your feedback!

    Does the temperature of the air increase with the ionization?

    • @iheartnuclear8517
      @iheartnuclear8517  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Since the ionized air molecules are forced to travel through neutral air molecules, and also they are undergoing exothermic process during ionization, so yes the air temperature increases!

    • @lorenzobarale7836
      @lorenzobarale7836 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@iheartnuclear8517 with a 25kv like in this case, does the increase in temperature is very high or not?

    • @iheartnuclear8517
      @iheartnuclear8517  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@lorenzobarale7836 Not that much, since my 25 kV power supply can only provide 0.15mA or so, which means there are 0.00015 * (6.25E+18) electrons to accelerate towards the anode. That is a little too less electrons to do anything - plus the 1 atm air surrounding it will continuously "cool down" the heated air ions!
