- the paint, previously glued on wood panel, presented a long vertical cleavage, regarding both the paint layer and the oxidized textile support. Traditional lining with "colla di pasta" was the best choice for many different reason.
AMAZING !!! Nice Work of Art ! Congrats
It is oil on canvas. we removed it from a thin panel it had been glued onto. we are using what we call "colla di pasta" according to the roman tradition (there's a florentine recipe as well), basically made of animal glue, flour, water, molasses (or honey) and antibacterial additives. Both glue and iron are warm (not hot!). What to use and how to operate needs to be weighed up in any single case. Thank you.
Lovely & Nice !
I hope you continue publishing more vídeos !
Fantastic ! Your work is wonderful! It's just lovely to watch your videos. The art of restoration and conservation is a unique and divine talent, and I expect to watch many of your videos. It's simply adorable! Congratulations ! It is very beautiful to know that the preservation of art remains everywhere in the world. Here in my country I also do this type of work, and my vídeos are also available at may Chanel. Thank you !
Stunning, beautiful, rhythmic, delightful! I have recently finished "The Restoration of Paintings," a very fine work on the art of what you do so well.

Since the paper got stuck to the painting at the end, wouldn't it be better to find an alternative way to lay the painting on something else?
you could lay it on a plastic surface and gently remove it after the glue dries
This part made uneasy viewing especially when the knife came out 😬
What is colla di pasta?
That's wheat flour glue lining?
Dear all at PAVIARESTAURO, I would like to ask you few questions:
Is the painting you are treating here an oil on vanvas or oil on panel? What glue are you using? Is the ironing tool warm when yuo apply it on the canvas?
I would be vry pleased to know. Many thanks.
Looks like rabbit skin glue

I think you neither know what you are talking about and that you have a very scholar knowledge of what restoration means. I suggest you to read something like "The restoration of painting" by Knut Nicolaus so that you can afford a wider consciusness of the matter. To achieve a good result a restorer needs to master both traditional and modern materials and tecniques, so that he can choose the best way to proceed from time to time. Don't think the old masters were always so fool!
What's the song in this?
The paste is much more liquid than I am used to seeing. It looks like the proportions are off , as liquid is one of the most damaging factors to a painting.as you can see - it went right through to the front of the canvas , penetrating through the paint layer ! Definitely not how it should be done...
too much mechanical damage - pressure...
Horrific. I was shocked by the mishandling and rough mistreatment. An unprofessional and disgusting display.
