      I'll eventually take a look at it is well. Ghost of Tsushima comes out tomorrow too so it will be a bit busy looking at these thigns.

    Personally I downloaded the new Xess version mod and just use it whenever I want upscaling. It's not as good as DLSS but as of right now it's a fair bit ahead of FSR (the updated version that is) till they release 3.1 at least which hopefully will be as good as the samples we've seen.
    Also I just wanted to note how gorgeous those mountains look! They just invite you in so you can get eaten by a dinosaur. I really love the landscape design and the sounds effects, keep thinking it would make a great dinosaur game...
    Anyways thanks man! 🤘🤘

    @1:29 I've learned that it is NOT a safe zone LOL It's just a faction camp hahah
    I JUST got my 4090 mailed to my friend's house. In the next couple weeks my PC will be built. I can NOT wait to be playing with such great graphics on 4K !! I'm so stoked !
    I also want to add that this game is brand new, it's still in a "Alpha" phase so even I with nothing but the lowest of graphic settings on a 3060 am getting game crashes amongst other streamers with similar PC Parts as you. It's hard to tell if it's because of a bug, or the game is too much on the computer, or what it is ..
    EDIT: I misheard you - Your PC is shutting down with it?? I've no idea then at this point. I'm interested to do some digging though and researching that.

      Nice congratulations. It ended up being my power supply causing PC to shut down.

    BTW did you undervolt/underclock your 4090? It seems to be running at lower core clocks and drawing less power than usual. Also, as for your system crashes, have you tried disabling EXPO and/or any PBO/undervolting for your CPU?

    • @TerraWare
      @TerraWare  หลายเดือนก่อน

      I had the CPU running a bit OC and just set it to PBO. Ive been looking around and talking to a few people. Some of the suggestions are it could be the power supply. Thing is its a brand new Seasonic GX 1000 watt. I thought it was either CPU or PSU causing a hard reset.
      It hasnt happened in any other game btw. I will try it on my other PC Ryzen 5900/7900XTX out of curiosity.
      My 4090 I havent undervolted it. Just default but this game doesnt fully utilize it. For example a game like No Rest for the Wicked keeps it at 400 watts.
      I have an extra EVGA 1000GT PSU I could try out of curiosity.

    Why not try out some DSR with DLSS. I think it looks better than native on my ultrawide. Still plays amazing

  • @Spratty-wb3is

    I've had no crashes yet on either system, only server disconnect..
    I was also running FSR3 frame gen with no issue on the XTX.
    I'm running it at the moment so ill quick check it out..

    • @TerraWare
      @TerraWare  หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I seen some videos where FSR 3 was working so maybe it only works on AMD cards? Maybe that's why even the Fort Solis devs locked FSR 3 behind AMD only? I havent yet tried it on my XTX so we'll see.

    • @Spratty-wb3is
      @Spratty-wb3is หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@TerraWare Yeah I think it might be.
      Definitely working on AMD as I've just checked, but the servers are so bad I can't play 😫 😂
      And yeah FSR 3 upscale at 4k using quality setting really isn't great unfortunately, hopefully that can get fixed..

      @@Spratty-wb3is Uploading the 7900XTX/5900X video now. Didn't have any crashes or PC restarting. I gotta figure out whats going on with my main PC. Was impressed with the 7900XTX performance and FSR 3 frame gen worked, so it only works on AMD cards. Only disappointment and predictably was the 5900X becomes a bottleneck with 60 to 80 fps max depending on the area. It's a cpu heavy game this one.

    @TerraWare hey homie, my work deals with this all the time. this is usually due to the nvidia driver communicating with the game and timing out when it uses DirectX12 functions. It will then shut down the PC to save itself because it's not replying to its 1's and 0's. :)
    A future update should assist with this, but my suggestion (as poo as it is) is to reduce the DirextX12 functions as much as possible.

    • @TerraWare
      @TerraWare  หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Interesting. Never had this problem in any other game. It was the power supply apprently. I had a hunch but put in a spare older 1000 watt psu I have and it runs just fine now.

    2:00 Maybe it trips your PSU protection ? You shoud try it with another PSU if you have one.

    • @TerraWare
      @TerraWare  หลายเดือนก่อน

      Yes I've been thinking about the same thing. This is a brand new Seasonic Vertex GX 1000. I have a 1000 watt EVGA psu I just tossed in the PC to try it.
      I have another same exact 1000 watt EVGA psu thats in my 7900XTX pc and that one didn't shut down. So time to see if it happens there too.

    • @drupiROM
      @drupiROM หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@TerraWare Yup. Some graphic cards have extreme spikes in power draw, that will trip the OCP or other similar protections the PSU has. As much as i want a 7900XTX i will stick to my 4070 for as long as i can, it rarely goes above 200W consumption even with RT on. Undervolted it averages about 160W.
      Also if you rememeber there was some drama a few years ago, when an online game caused some high end cards to fry, i think Jayz2Cents covered it then.

    You should be getting high figures than that, im running on a 5950x with a 7900xtx and getting 90-140FPS on epic 3440x1440
    I was suffering from random reboots awhile back on warzone, it turned out to be a bad SSD.

    • @TerraWare
      @TerraWare  หลายเดือนก่อน

      It turned out to be my practically brand new Seasonic Vortex GX 1000 watt power supply. I swapped it out for an older EVGA 1000GT I have as a spare and no reboots.
      I also tested it on my other PC with a 5900X and Nitro 7900XTX which too has an EVGA 1000GT lol and no reboot.
      BTW am not sure how you are getting those FPS and what settings. Do you have FSR and or frame gen enabled? I did a quick comparison for a subscriber testing the 7900XTX at native 4K epic comparing it to the 4090. The 4090 is 20% faster so something doesnt add up there. @@TerraWare its always a relief when to find the source of the issue, some times they can be a nightmare to find, especially when its a random reboot or blacks screen.
      I have my system semi-tightly tuned, ram and CPU wise, also give my GPU the max power it needs but 90% of the time its my CPU that holds games back, they seem to tank 1-2 cores and load up the others with 30-40% util... lazy coders these days, they leave the main process/thread doing way to much so it hogs the cores the main threads are running on.
      I'll have to get back to you re my settings etc, I'm pretty sure it was Epic or high with FRS Frame Gen enabled at native, with the AMD replay and gamebar recording disabled, those seem to really hurt FPS on this game.
      RAM wise I do know im running it at 3800, CL16 22-22-22-38 tRFC 990
      if I go any lower on the CL I can only get it stable at sub 3600, and although the kit is tested good with sub 500 tRFC anything lower than 990 gives me silly temps, leading to crashes, but it could be due to me running 4 sticks, I know... I bought the first kit thinking it was duel ranked but they're single rank, so I picked up another kit to gain the additional ranks, the ryzen 9s really need the 2 ranks per channel to perform at peak

      I just captured some footage of 5900X/7900XTX. The GPU performs pretty well actually. The 5900X unfortunately is only good for 70 to 80 fps before it becomes the bottleneck. This games CPU taxing. My X3D was good for 90 to 100 fps in this video by the looks of it.
