I saw the JL episode, also. Pretty remarkable car. I actually enjoy Jay’s new format without the rest of the production crew. Jay seems like a really down-to-earth fella, for having so much damn money.
@ken060693 Its because this is not just a performance numbers car, this is a high endurance race car (ie 24hrs LeMans) built to hold 5-7k rpms for substantial amounts of time. Alot of cars are built just to spit out numbers but not really perform. This really is a ready built race car. 99% of sports cars you buy in the US will not hold up under the conditions this one can easily sustain.
@venom5809 Yeah but one big problem...they DO change the interior. Maybe you couldn't see it but everything in the interior was covered in leather and that was a very different steering wheel from standard Corvettes. Most of the cost probably comes from the body work and the fact they do it all by hand though, pretty much the same as any exotic.
Probably a mistake, but left foot braking is a thing...it can allow a good driver to shift the balance of the car and get back on the throttle faster in tight turns.
The Price is crazy but anyone that thinks that is missing the point. This is the GT3 RS of Corvette's its for the few that truly want the full race car exparnce, I guarantee this car is faster then the ZR1
Big Country 56 The only thing people think about is 0-60 and top speed. There's a lot that happens between that. Put the 2 on a track together then let's see who's "faster".
@venom5809 yea, but with this car, you have the soundin a of mean V-8, you dont have to worry about the transmission exploding (as in the GT-R).. and voidin the warranty on a $20,000 tranny. all the parts that make this vette are race provin parts. and they mention the extensive use of carbon fiber.
@Josh I had the pleasure of driving all sorts of fast fun cars, I worked any speed shop as an auto mechanic for a lot of years. I was making good money and having lots of fun doing it. Now I've got multiple sclerosis and this disease has robbed me of everything. My finances are gone, my ability for movement is gone even my ability to walk is gone. I am thankful that I have my family. All that aside the biggest rush I have ever gotten was not from a powerful car - it was an all original ford model T that I hand cranked myself to start - Virtually no power, lots of body roll, no creature comforts to speak of, not even windows or seatbelts - but that was the single best experience I ever had and I think of it more often than any of the other cars that I had the privilege of driving. I would trade it all for the ability to walk. Or my own 92 Dodge Viper. I could certainly love one of those I would have it modified to have an automatic transmission so I could drive it.
@TheGizmo4382 You must not have watched the video or you would have noticed the automatic suspension height control system with the manual override for speed bumps and such @ 4:30. I think this car is badass.
Pratt & Miller. World-renowned for their powerful engines. The Pratt & Miller Corvette? Engine developed and made by Katech. What's wrong with this picture?
@fanmusclecars More like built to last. a tiny engine pumping that hard would tear itself up. a bigger engine will last forever, minding regular maintenance.
Step inside of a Ferrari or an Aston Martin and then step into this or a regular Corvette and that should answer your question. Not exactly a secret that Corvette has always had a cheap sh!t interior. That is why it costs so much less than other cars like it. My problem is when you try to charge $200,000 and you retain the same sh!t interior.
Corvette is proud of their value proposition and owners know if they don't drive it, it'll last a long time because of it. Interior design is something that Corvette STILL cannot get right compared to the European competitors. I once sat in a new StingRay that had tan suede accents; a black leather steering wheel (of course), aluminum vents, fake carbon fiber and black plastic all trying to occupy the same interior space. It took me about 3 minutes for me to realize that they still aren't serious about competing on so many levels. I get Corvette's... there fun to drive which is what a car like this is supposed to be. Unfortunately for them, the competition also knows how to incorporate passion for design, performance, reliability and turn it all into an ego boosting visceral experience.
Not trying to take up for them. But this car was made for racing. Not saying the ls7 couldn't go racing. But this car could do the 24hr lemans with a beating. And I am sure it could do better than motor weeks 3.8 probably atleast 3.2-3.4
I've been in the automobile sales/performance business since the early 1980s so I'll be fair......This is a nice car with professional upgrades that's good for more than just the quarter mile strip. Looks to have very good materials and solid build quality with attention to detail but is EXTREMELY OVERPRICED. This Corvette is made for someone with disposable income.
@johnnyo032003 Yeah but this is a hand-built REAL supercar unlike the ZR1, and there's only 7 of them in existence. This thing would wipe a roadcourse with either of the ones you named, it's not about just power.
Despite all the upgrades I don’t think I could justify spending $200k on a Corvette like this. I could think of a couple better cars to spend $200k on.
@master9716 This is a collector car, not a production car. "Fuck Pratt and Miller", obviously you've never done your research on them nor Katech. And just for info, its most of their techonology that went into the 06 Z06 and ZR1.
Because I can guarantee you a zr1 doesn't handle nearly half as good as this. Straight line performance isn't everything. Also why would you want a car with no soul? It basically drives itself.
OMG is ridiculously awesome 😍 oh man I'm pretty sure is very nice to have money..i wish I knew what was that feeling oh man well maybe on my next life or time whatever you want to call it...
$200,000 and it still looks cheap. I would rather have a GT-R for less than half the price or I absolutely had to spend $200,000, why wouldn't I get a Porsche 911 GT2? If you absolutely want a Corvette, a ZR1 is just as good for $120,000. This car makes no sense.
wow, 8.2 liters and only 600 hp? only 16 valves? wtf. why not just use a supercharged ls9 engine, and get the same torque, 40 more hp, and most likely alot liter being as though the ls9 is 2 liters smaller
Ls9 would weigh more because of the supercharger and intercooler. This car is being held back by an emissions compliant small duration cam shaft. Valve springs and an aggressive cam shaft profile would net you close to 70 more horsepower. Car is making monster torque. Very few cars even today make that much torque.
There's always a buyer for something exclusive, even if its ridiculously overpriced. Can you imagine if you bought this back in the day and how many times you would have had to justify it since everyone is going to say .."Its a Corvette...so?". I don't think there's a person alive who can spend this kind of cash who doesn't want their car to have some shock value and appear special in a luxury saturated world. Ferrari has it, Lamborghini has it...Corvette doesn't have it.
How relevant is American Le Mans in the world racing scene? Is it like American Rally Championship or that nonsense Rally Cross? Probably could google it but I'm to lazy/dont give a shit?
dissapointed in the bodykit and it sucks to me bcuz it looks like just another corvette i mean seriously this has become america's type R everybody and there granny has a diff version but it's the same damn car T_T
what a beauty! jay leno's garage just reviewed one and it brought me here to learn more
Right here with you buddy
I saw the JL episode, also. Pretty remarkable car. I actually enjoy Jay’s new format without the rest of the production crew. Jay seems like a really down-to-earth fella, for having so much damn money.
He reviewed his own car.
Yup, me too. What a car!
The C5 and C6 are the best looking Corvettes ever!
8.2 Liter V8 America !
People are fucken clueless how amazing this car is.
Well, the new c8 is out and would wipe the floor with this .
200 k lol.
How did they get C6 Corvettes in this video from 1987?
@john thonig I wrote this comment a very long time ago, but I think the joke was that the video looks & sounds like it was produced in 1987.
Im telling u that's that 85 footage 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
ZR1 lol it definitely is
I get the joke but i like it, it has character
Awesome, man!! I could never afford one, but I still dream!
600 ft lbs 600hp NA... No adders.. All motor.... How sweet is this!!!
I love the C6!
Sweet looking Corvette. 👍
Yea that body kit def makes the C6 look way better
@ken060693 Its because this is not just a performance numbers car, this is a high endurance race car (ie 24hrs LeMans) built to hold 5-7k rpms for substantial amounts of time. Wow this corvette has all top of the line quality geez
Man that’s still one modern looking and beautiful corvette today
Bought a new 2019 Corvette Grand Sport, with a MANUAL TRANSMISSION, and it’s a great car!
how does it look cheap exactly?
Brembo brakes connect on your left foot???
Ive tried braking with left foot, it didnt go well... especially in the highway.
Probably a mistake, but left foot braking is a thing...it can allow a good driver to shift the balance of the car and get back on the throttle faster in tight turns.
The Price is crazy but anyone that thinks that is missing the point. This is the GT3 RS of Corvette's its for the few that truly want the full race car exparnce, I guarantee this car is faster then the ZR1
no its not the c6rs is 0-60 3.8 top speed 202 and 600hp the zr1 is 0-60 3.3 top speed 205 638hp you r way off
Big Country 56
The only thing people think about is 0-60 and top speed. There's a lot that happens between that. Put the 2 on a track together then let's see who's "faster".
I stand by this statement I made 2 years ago. I bet its way faster around a race track then a ZR1.
William Seroyer
Dude, I literally just agreed with you. Did you not read what I said? I was replying to the other guy.
I was replying to him also.
I'll just go buy a ZR1 no thanks.
After I heard that price, I’ll second that.
Soul of Champ!
I just watched Jay Leno with his C6RS.
Same here
@Josh I had the pleasure of driving all sorts of fast fun cars, I worked any speed shop as an auto mechanic for a lot of years. I was making good money and having lots of fun doing it. What color is that
How does it only do 60 in 3.8? That's the same as the C6 Zo6 and this has 100hp more!??
Traction
And manual
Pratt & Miller. World-renowned for their powerful engines. The Pratt & Miller Corvette? Engine developed and made by Katech. What's wrong with this picture?
Pratt & Miller built the ALMS C6 racecars, and Katech built their engines for the race cars.....just for clarification
I think Jay Leno has one of these RS models.
I don't get why they couldn't wait 2 months for the 750 horsepower 850 ft. torque c6rs, that would poop on this vette all day
for that price, you could buy a real c6r road racer with built in air jacks, roll cage and a curb weight of 2450lbs.
That price tag is just silly especially for those performance numbers lol
Beauty!
200k in 2009 LMFAO
Did they stop proudction or could I go get one today?
steveobarnes lol
Good grief this is bliss!
This is ALMS c6 corvette for the street
Damn I want one
great ride
So it's a BBC?
@fanmusclecars
More like built to last. a tiny engine pumping that hard would tear itself up. a bigger engine will last forever, minding regular maintenance.
the z06 which its based off of is around 70k not 120k

500 cubic inches and 600' ft. pounds of torque and it only does 0-60 in 3.8? My heads cam 04 Z06 will beat that. No way this is right.
I thought the exact same thing.
Not trying to take up for them. But this car was made for racing. Not saying the ls7 couldn't go racing. But this car could do the 24hr lemans with a beating. And I am sure it could do better than motor weeks 3.8 probably atleast 3.2-3.4
Why does it sound like a commercial
I've been in the automobile sales/performance business since the early 1980s so I'll be fair......This is a nice car with professional upgrades that's good for more than just the quarter mile strip. Aluminum brake rotors? 1st I've heard of them. Hmmmm.....
Live close to that track lol!
I would guess this Vette would run the quarter in the twelves.
If that thing cannot do the quarter in the 10's I don’t think it's worth the money.
750 HP in the Supercharged version. Yowza.
Aluminium brake rotors? Really? More like aluminium bells holding steel rotors
Despite all the upgrades I don’t think I could justify spending $200k on a Corvette like this. I could think of a couple better cars to spend $200k on.

Needs a supercharger. Right now, it's just like a Gallardo...only it's a Chevy, not a Lamborghini. Damn.
worth every penny: } or dollar...
200k when the stock ZR1 is better for not even half the price.
This is one of 7 so exclusivity i suppose
10 years old....
rookie stripes on P&M, haha
wow, 8.2 liters and only 600 hp? only 16 valves? wtf. why not just use a supercharged ls9 engine, and get the same torque, 40 more hp, and most likely alot liter being as though the ls9 is 2 liters smaller

Not to mention na ls7 is a beast and does put up a good fight against a c6zr1
8.2L and only 600hp? This thing is really choked off to meet smog restrictions.
It has a mild glass idle duration cam to pass emissions. Change cam and get 50 plus horsepower easily.
All that for that cheesy fitting radio
5:49 - front tire rub
just a name plate....zr1 be better pick....but then again .....this car is for the streets....so gears is at play......
For 200k I could have a Z06 with a Lingenfelter engine... or a ZR1 with the same horsepower and still have 100k to buy another car...
Why not just get a ZR1... which is faster in the 0 to 60 time... With that said, I rather get a GTR.
Because a zr1 lasts 5 laps around Daytona before everything overheats. This is not built for straight lines.
Wow I bet I can beat anyone Drivingbthat Pratt z06 vs mine
hahahaha $200,000 for a vet? no thanks, never in my life would I spend ferrari/lambo money on this even ifit was 2000hp....gimme a break!
the zr1 can do better an that
why u need 8.2l\
waste of money, but super charger could be worth it
I would let this car do me in the behind and I'm not gay just super amazed at the beauty of this beast
Gay
For $200K??? no thx.
What is interesting is that it is worth $130K in 2020.
There's always a buyer for something exclusive, even if its ridiculously overpriced. Slower to 60 than a c6z06 and only 4mph faster on the top end..
200k for a FR corvette ??? wtf
They are nice but way over priced. It’s still just a vette. For that money you can build a better one.
I seriously doubt you can built a vette that could out handle a Prat & Miller vette. You could get more horsepower straight line speed for sure.
lol not worth it
How relevant is American Le Mans in the world racing scene? Is it like American Rally Championship or that nonsense Rally Cross? Probably could google it but I'm to lazy/dont give a shit?
