    Definitely not a bad fermenter for the price. I like that they offer a 3 gallon version as well, great for some small experiments.

      I have friends that use the three gallon ones to split a batch and do different yeasts, dry hops, or adjuncts. 💯🍻

    Nice!!!! I like that it holds a bit of pressure, thanks for sharing, cheers 🍻

      Thanks! The added pressure should help the transfer go a bit quicker too! 🍻

      I've used this setup for roughly 5 years. Exact same idea, drilled a hole in the lid , added a gas disconnect, and transfered out the spigot with 1-2psi. Works great.

      Thanks! I'll try to find the link where I got it. I usually put on my shirts in my Amazon Store, link in the video description.

    Quasi my setup. I have a liquid and gas post. Dip tube on liquid. I use it during fermentation. I run a jumper from the gas post to a keg filled with StarSan and then a line off the keg liquid to an old 3 gallon Fermonster. Yes, 3 gallon keg. I did end up adding food grad silicone washers to the inside and outside of posts. After clicking on posts a couple times it started leaking. Just a thought. I actually have a beer going right now. I will say, I should have gotten the 7 gallon. Kveik Krausen is no joke.

      Awesome! This one will be primarily for dry hopping purposes and pushing hazy IPAs into a keg. Since those seem to be more prone to oxidation. I will likely just leave my regular lid on the top with the rubber stopper until I transfer, but I can always modify it if I want to do that in the future! Cheers🍻

      @@CityscapeBrewing it was a hazy that got me to do the double post completely O2 free setup. I did watch a post on another channel and he filled his with 10PSI co2 and left it for 5 days. Not a single leak or crack or anything. He clearly did not try any higher. Hahah

      @CityscapeBrewing  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yeah it's not rated for high pressure so I don't plan to test it out haha. Plenty of time for pressure in the keg. 🤣

      @@CityscapeBrewing right! I have only done 3-5 for transfer.

    Look into buying a step bit. It's a tapered bit with a bunch of small steps on it. It will allow you to slowly get to just the right size for whatever fitting you are adding. I've used mine on both plastic buckets and even my stainless kettle.

    • @CityscapeBrewing
      @CityscapeBrewing  ปีที่แล้ว

      Yeah I need one of those for sure. I've seen them used for buckets before in other videos. Good comment. Thanks! 🍻

    Funny story, those sous vide magnets will absorb co2 through the silicone and balloon up if you dry hop in a pressurized fermentation vessel. Did that once and thought I ruined the magnet. Cleaned it off and left it on my keezer, the next day it went back to normal.

    • @CityscapeBrewing
      @CityscapeBrewing  ปีที่แล้ว

      That's crazy! I could have thought the same thing. I don't pressure ferment normally but that's good to know! 🍺

  • @TheAndysim66

    Why are you dry hopping when you are having active fermentation?

    • @CityscapeBrewing
      @CityscapeBrewing  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You do that specifically for New England IPAs (hazy IPA) because the yeast that you use for those styles pulls out different hop oils and gives you the citrusy fruity flavors from those oils. Dry hopping for most other styles, like American IPAs or pale ales, will be after fermentation is fully completed.

    So you just switch lids when you need to transfer? Doesn’t that let air in

    • @CityscapeBrewing
      @CityscapeBrewing  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Since CO2 is heavier than oxygen... You just have to do it pretty slow. You can make a air lock that goes on top of the gas connection.

    #1 question is, where’d you get that shirt?

      Haha I get my brew shirts from a lot of places, but this one is here: amzn.to/3OuOSJE
