What’s Happened to Ammo Prices?

- It’s been several years since ammo prices were dramatically impacted by the great ammo shortage. A lot of people were hoarding ammo like crazy and as a result, the prices of ammo skyrocketed and the availability of ammo was severely impacted. It was very hard to find ammo, even the common rounds such as 9mm. If you were looking for an odd round of ammo, you were basically s o l. There was very little chance that you were going to find that round. And it wasn’t limited to ammo either, the reloading sector was devastated also. Especially primers. It was impossible to find primers and if you did find one, you were going to pay 100x more than what you were used to paying. It was some crazy times we lived in and thank God it’s over. Kind of. The availability is back but that could be because the prices are still high and nobody wants to continue to pay for ammo when it’s this expensive. Either way, ammo is back but you’re going to pay more than what you're used to paying.
Video was filmed in a SAFE and CONTROLLED environment.

Just like everything else that's firearms and ammo related, This is the New Normal. People will continue to pay this much for ammo and, with ammo manufacturing leaving the US mainland, it will continue to go up.
I think you’re right bro. Sadly
The new “Normal” is On Line… shopping for ammo on line is way cheaper for the most part…. Them gunshops can be ridiculous sometimes.
9mm is ridiculous. .30 a round. Good grief that's outrageous..
💯
I paid 24¢ per round online
I just picked up a couple of thousand rds at about .22 per. You are shopping in the wrong place. Buying retail is bullshit.
@@CubaLibre69 where?
Online is as low as 14 cents not including shipping.
The problem is ammo isn't like fruits and vegetables, they don't have an expiration date.
Pre shit storm , 9mm was about .13 cents and 5.56 was approximately .24 per. This is based on WA shops.
👍
If you don’t like the price today, your going to hate it tomorrow.
Words of wisdom
I bought 9mm for 11.99 a box of blazer. And $9.99 a box for 5.56 green tip today
Where?
@@BorKagan777 magwarehouse
@@michaelfranks341they’re my go to, great service too.
Ammo prices are only a few percentage points over inflation in general. In the early 80's I used to sell guns and ammo (in NY of all places) and for example 50rds of 22LR was 59 cents, a box of 500 was $4.98. Back then gas was .75/gal , a new car 4k a new house 55k ect. These Ammo prices are likely the new price, if they go down it
won't be much and not for long.
You missed the most outrageously priced ammo in the store. 12 gauge slugs, and magnum turkey shells.
Yeah I did 😑 Next time 👍
The ammo may be back but the prices are not. Stop paying these prices.
Isn’t it curious how we always focus on how much ammo we have… how the dollars don’t make sense… higher … go ahead and put a price in freedom. We in America need to realize how much our freedom has given us because there are those even in our country and elsewhere who’s whole purpose is to take as much from us as they can …not stopping at our lives. So how much credence do you have and how little are you doing to protect it
That's been the 556/223 price for a couple years now..
If you need it buy it when you see it! Especially now that it is plentiful. Prices are high and not going to get any cheaper so buy ammo not gold! It wasn’t that long ago that people were paying over $100 for a 500 round brick of 22 LR and that’s happened a few times over the last 20 years.
Hello Fellow Patriots and Friends: Thank you Andre for this
ammo update video. Nothing has changed up here in the NE except gone higher. All you can do is sit on your inventory & pray you never have the need to use it. 🙏. Thank you again my brother, TMP from N.J. 😢😢
Whenever you come towards FL let me know and we’ll hit the range bro. I’ve got more than enough to make it a good range day 👍
@@FloridaPatriot Love ya brother ❤️ & my best to the family. TMP from N.J 👍
Went to Academy the other day hoping ammo was reasonable, and I was like WTH? Those prices are unreasonable!
Exactly 👍
Bass Pro Shop, pre-CCP Virus, Herter's (Made by Winchester.), 9mm, 500-round box, $78.00 after 5% military discount and sale tax. I bought 5,000 rounds. Down to my last 500-rounds.
Yes sir. I did the same thing when Walmart was putting their 9mm ammo on clearance when they stopped selling it. Bought several thousand of them for dirt cheap
Ammo prices are of course higher than 3-5 years ago. So is bread, eggs, and gas. There is no discussion of the rate of inflation and loss of dollar purchasing power. Factor in the rate of inflation over the past 3-5 years (8% 10% per year, or?) if you are discussing ammo prices.
Regardless of cost there is plenty of ammo on shelves because persons are broke. A survey done a few months ago revealed most persons couldn't come up with $400. the next morning for an emergency.
Ammo is an excellent buy right now IF you have money.
With the inflation rate rising and wars looming I would wager ammo prices today will be seen in the future as a bargain.
People just don’t understand how capitalism works. If we keep buying at the current prices it’s only going to go up.
You're not talking about capitalism. That's the "free market" system. You don't have to pay these prices if you don't want to as no one is forcing you to shop here.
THEY ARE STILL BAD PRICES.
Reloads are costing me $45 -100 rounds of 45acp. $30-100 9mm. Still sucks.
I will not pay more than $12.50 a box for Blazer 9mm 115g and only free shipping and no tax... 🤷♂️
💯
Until the price per rounds for that type of ammo reaches .10 cents per round then I’ll save what I got.
Exactly 👍
I just got 100 HPJ federal premium HST +p for $69. I was stoked to find them at that price.
Pre covid i used to pay for 9 brass 16' cents shipped, & 556 30 cents shipped.
👍
One needs to shop around at places they don't normally visit. On a 4th of July sale (before shipping) I got 41 mag 248 gr hardcast for under 60 cents, 210 gr XTP for under $1, 380 102 gr, as well as 90 XTP for 38 cents. And many more deals.. granted some things are average, but some were great deals.
Nice 👍
I remember when 5.56/223 was under $2 a box and 100rd 9mm winchester fmj was $19.95.
prob is i fear the prices won't go back down to what it was pre covid. but i sure hope it does--pre c i bought a box of 50 9 for 7$box. 1000rounds for 100$$ went to range w/friends all the time. miss it
Yup. I hear ya. Same thing here. Ammo was cheap so we went twice a week to the range. Now, we’re lucky to make it once a month 🙄
Yup, same here!
Thanks for the video brutal prices.
Thank you for the support. Appreciate ya
Seems high in Florida. Here in North Carolina, Academy Sports:
$ 9.99 box of 50, Monarch 9mm Luger FMJ 115 GR Steel Case (CBC)
$49.99 box of 250, Monarch 9mm Luger FMJ 115 GR Steel Case
$12.00 box of 50, Monarch 9mm Luger FMJ 115 GR Brass Case (CBC)
$14.99 box of 50, Blazer 9mm Luger FMJ 115 GR Brass Case
$29.99 box of 100, Winchester 9mm Luger FMJ 115 GR Brass Case, white box
$11.99 box of 20, Winchester USA 5.56x45mm NATO 62-Grain M855 green tip
$52.99 box of 100, Monarch .223 Remington 55-Grain
We have an Outdoor LTD warehouse/store near me. Less expensive than Academy.
.30 cent a round is on sale here in cali that’s a SALE not everyday prices.
😮
Its an election year so any month now those prices are going to shoot up. Gotta adjust for inflation. We won't see $9.99 9mm ammo again in my area because of inflation and demand. I just picked up 62 gr green tip for 51 cents a round and 28 cents a round 124 gr 9MM and 6 cents a round for .22LR. I just won't see those prices again until Trump hopefully gets in office.
In 2019, I got a sale email from MidwayUSA twice a week. Yep, Midway. I read every one because there was ALWAYS something I couldn't pass up. I purchased 9mm for $7 and .45 Fiocchi for $12. These were not everyday prices, you just needed to read the emails to find the bargains. Of course, those days are gone forever but, there are still relative bargains to be had by careful shopping.
Pre Covid I bought Herters 9mm all day long at Cabelas in Utica, NY for $7.99 per box of 50
Although prices have taken a jump since the con...they are currently down in this new sh*t show we are currently in
True
I got a 250 round pack of monarch steel case 9mm for 49.99 at my local academy brass was 10 bucks more for the same quantity box
Talk about price gouging!👎🏻😡
Ammo hasn’t come down much since 2 years ago. If anything depending on where you buy it is still high priced. 👍🇺🇸
💯
That’s a bargain in California. Wish I could get does prices in Cuba I mean California.
😂
This makes me so happy to be a reloader. Only have to buy .22lr. The price of ammo he where I live is higher than in the US. $325 for 500 cheap .223 rem. 500 cheap .308 $500.
Thanks for the content FP👊🏽👊🏽👊🏽👊🏽👊🏽
Thanks for the support MrMilo!!!!!!!!! 😀
@@FloridaPatriot 💯💯
Online is 10 cents cheaper including shipping.
P.J's had the best prices at WPB gun show, last week. New Republic 9mm $10.99 50rds
Palmetto State Armory is the only place to get good deals on ammo. You can get 308 SP ammo for 75cent at times. 5.56 as low as 43 cent sometimes.
👍
2024 ammo on sale a lot no ammo shorted. Buy ammo online save me a lot of money then in store.
I bought shit tons of blazer 9mm for 7.99 a box of 50 pre rona I spent a few hundred a few times
💪🏼
Shall not be infringed 😮
and ammo prices inflated
You can get much better prices at Palmetto State Armory and fast shipping 😊
Add tax to the price per round and it’s even worse!
I don’t think it’s back can’t buy 243 shells can’t buy 410 shells. It’s a joke freaking government.
9mm was 10 pennies PR before the cervesa bug
cervesa bug 😂
Big box prices are a little absurd. I went by Academy recently to check if they had any 357 Sig. They wanted $65 for a 50 count fmj... $1.30 per round, ridiculous. I laughed and walked out. I'll stick with online purchases.
380 prices are garbage. It’s inflation because of the Covid excuses. The 9 mm prices are damn near double what they were pre-Covid. I remember getting Winchester white box for 799 for 50 count. Price is averaging $.16-$.20 a round. That’s stupid. I picked up a box of 1000 primers for three cents of primer. I’m trying to find powder is a pain in the butt
let us know if you see lower prices coming down the pike, Thanks Andre.
Compared to food prices, Ammo hasn't gone insane.
Buy now, smile later
lol exactly
Ammo is back but come September October it's going to get ridiculous again.
These prices are the same as pre-covid from what I can remember.
Easily recognized as overpriced, but also proportial to the ridiculous and deliberate inflation level.
ammo prices up here are about 20% lower. weird.
Up where?
Ever since covid they've all jumped on the price gouging wagon
Ammo is back? What about primer and gunpowder?
Hey I'm a rimfire guy. Do a video on 22s only.
👍
Thanks
Thank you!
I paid $50 for 200 rounds of win fmj
When 9mm was 5 cents a round people still whined.
Still way to high
THEY ARE GREEDY AND WAY TOO HIGH.
They are still overpriced
Its just going to go up now there is a gun cotton shortage China is not shipping the West anymore that means the US and the EU or Australia.
Dillon 750XL
👍🏻👍🏻
Overpriced not worth buying
Too much.
Super to hight
I didn't hoard ammo or shoot during the years of shortage. Those that hoarded drove the prices up. Thanks guys.
You're seriously going to blame people who stocked up on ammo when they looked out their window 2020 and saw the potential for societal collapse and systems failure knocking on their door? Get bent and cry some more.
What's happened to ammo prices? It's called inflation. Thank a democrat.
There is little to complain about. Ammunition is plentiful. If you do not like the price, maybe you picked the wrong sport.
Freedom seed...dumbest thing I've ever heard. But thanks for review.
Would you prefer Freedom Tendies with your favorite dipping sauce?
2019 is never coming back. Suffer
The US now has UK prices - welcome to the sensation of being rinsed by companies.
