    Italy ev market is fking low!!! Why don’t we have any incentives from the government I’m so pissed… last time we had a real one was in 2019 I guess….. fuuuu

    I think if diesel cars are replaced by EVs, we will have an unseen benefit of lower diesel consumption, and lower diesel costs at the pump. This will reduce transportation expenses for motor carriers, and farmers, as well as heavy construction companies. That could have a positive economic impact, leading up to various able EV options for those industries. Let’s face it, Tesla semi is a decade away from impacting transportation industries. Even if the truck were perfected, it’s not set up to be scaled to mass production.

      Yep. It is same as EV cars 10 years ago. So we gonna hit 15% global marketshare on EV-trucks in about 2032. And 90% about 2040.
      S-curves hit hard.

      A decade for the Semi?
      Right now (!) the new level4 charger, capable of doing 1KV dc, is being installed in Harderwijk. Among many logistics companies there…

      @@hanswitvliet8188 it’s not a problem that Semi isn’t great. It seems to be great. They just won’t be able to build enough of them, for a really long time. Maybe a few hundred this year. Maybe approaching a thousand next year. I’ll be surprised if they break 10k per year by 2027. Semi is just a massive truck, requiring a lot of labor and materials to build. It’s not scaled for mass production either. Right now it’s like building a prototype. I hope I’m wrong though.

      @@hanswitvliet8188 It takes years to Semi have meaningful impact. But you always start from 0 with everything. There is huge workload to build up charging network and scale up production.
      The sooner you start the better but it is not going to have very big impact on transportation sector for many years.

      Why does the Tesla semi need to be "perfected". It's already out there being driven by one big customer. The Semi needs to be scaled - not perfected. It's almost perfect as is.
