  • With some luck, a series of 100 degree days hit and we snuck in to the Royal Gorge at the end of May in 2020. It's always a pleasure to experience this amazing place...even after 11 runs through this section it still blows my mind around every corner. It truly is a unique and special sliver of California's vast Sierra range. I was joined by my brother Nate Garcia, Dave Fusilli, and Scott Lindgren (Who first Descent'ed this section over 20 years ago). Much love to the boys for a great and memorable 2 days in the wild lands! Hope you enjoy some visuals from our trip.

    I remember watching this video when you first posted it last year. I am just now realizing not only you guys ran Royal Gorge, but you also did Generation gap and Giant gap too?! all in 2 days?! What a SEND! so many miles of nonstop whitewater. Over 30 miles right?! Incredible.

    I bought a kayak from TH-cam and now it is endless class 5, no unintentional swims and easy hikes to the put in. Oh, and I learned how to keep my head dry. Gotta go, I am off to the Zambezi for the afternoon!

    Visuals were completely awesome, though I could hardly hear the river through the noise. Too bad. Needs a re-edit.

    Why long boats, not playboats? Better lines?

    • @CapitaoJacque
      @CapitaoJacque 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Does that seriously look playboatable to you? How often do you see class V being play boated?

    • @GavinRieser
      @GavinRieser 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      In all seriousness, yes, better lines, safer, and also have you ever tried to pack overnight gear into a playboat? You might as well ask a climber why they use climbing rope instead of string, or a skier why they use skis and not rollerblades...

    Video was awesome. Music sucks.

      There is a rule on TH-cam which clearly states "All kayaking videos MUST be accompanied by terrible music". Apparently.

    • @CapitaoJacque
      @CapitaoJacque 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@chrisharris4740 Haha!! Exactly what I've been saying. I come from a surf background, and have only recently started watching kayaking. I can't believe how hard the music sucks in 90% of videos. It's not always on point in surf either, but mostly the selection is infinitely better.

    Why did you have to ruin this with the sorry music?

  • @zuel1
    @zuel1 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Enjoy the videos but had to leave this one due to that music. No soul, meaning, or emotions! Find better music.
