I miss Bren so much. I'm glad he got the flush, but it puts me in tears when I see him in video. That dear sweet ginger lad just loved kayaking. He also loved life in general, and got as much joy out of a physics equation as he did an awesome line in a legendary river. I'm really glad that he had a friend in Dane who would take him along and help him get this first descent. I will never forget you Bren. Though the time you were in my life was short, it was beautiful. I wish you great lines, and good times wherever you are, and I hope you rest in peace.
Absolutely love hearing how you and Bren discuss safety plans, helps me develop the vocabulary and language to communicate with my paddling partners. Always a pleasure!
Glad to see Bren Orton get his RF. I'm amazed he hadn't got it by now, and so glad he had Dane to do it with. Those two are among the best of the best!
That was awesome. So cool that you wanted Bren to get it that you were just there for safety/support. We got to see some of the walking around but actually would be interesting to see some more of that at times as I am sure that is just as intense as the river. It would just be cool to see what you have to do to scout at times. Awesome job by Bren and thanks Dane for being there for him.
man i love watching your videos, I am not the skill level you are but i do still enjoy getting out there and hitting the water. keep doing what you do and stay safe
Great video as always, thanks for the continued moments of escapism. Wanted to see Bren out there for so long now, you're a good man for making it happen!
Thanks for the post. Has anyone ever seen DJ walk stuff others run? Might be a fist, lol. I only wish someone had a drone for Dane's 1st run! Now we just have to wait for whatever runs he's saving himself up for.
So how does it feel when you drop from a waterfall from a kayak?? Does it hurt a little do you feel it or does it sorta feel like jumping in water normally
With your out of this world skill set why did you portage some of those rapids? Seems like that put you at a greater risk than paddling as very sharp rocks, steep and carrying a lot of gear.
I would 100% feel confident in running them again. But I had already gotten my Flush, and in the end bigger stouts like Royal you could get hurt on. That combined with only having the two of us it’s just safer to portage.

So many layers of Humility and Connection.
Absolute world class . Money with the drone footage at the end.
That was epic. Hat is off to both of you. 🔥🔥🔥🙌🙌🙌
Those drone shots were pure perfection! California with the greatest white water in the world. Porting definitely can kick your butt too lol.
Wasnt expecting that dope little edit at the end there!
You guys are awesome 🎉
Ain’t over til the signature pops up! Glad you liked it!
This is my backyard! Glad to see you guys playing in it. 🤘
Make sure to watch to the end! Wow. Nice edit on those drone shots.

What an expedition

Man, I'd really like to get into whitewater rafting. But it seems really hard to actually get into if you don't know a guy.
Where are you located? There is likely a whitewater club near you.
epic...thanks....:)
actuall bro move going in for bren ty
and thank you for the super nice edit!
Did you do the drone flying too or was that someone else (non paddler etc)
It was just us two, did the filming as well

What kind of shoes were you wearing? That steep section that you were going down while carrying your boat looked savage.@@danejacksonkayak
Makes total sense and thanks for taking the time to explain.@@danejacksonkayak
