😂 Thanks, Heather!! It's all based on what content they submit to me and their individual personality & business styles, so it's kind of hard to teach as it varies a bit from client to client. haha - If I can figure out HOW to do it in a way that'd be applicable to more people then I'll add it to the future-video to-do list!
This video was so informative! I loved it! I am binge-watching all your videos! Could you do a video of how you do launch prep and revision wrap-up. oh and explain how you do each step such as URL redirects!? :)
Thank you!! I'm so glad you enjoyed it. 😁 Launch prep is relatively simple, I just follow a basic checklist I made for things like: mobile friendly tweaks, SEO tweaks, checking links, wrapping up remaining revisions, creating launch announcement graphics for the client, exporting files & uploading them to the deliverables folder, updating the private resources for that specific client & project, etc. And here you can kind of get a peek at my checklist through this video at 42:13: th-cam.com/video/_4Fe7NoyJoI/w-d-xo.htmlsi=ItYV0FAY-9bF3VSd&t=2533 On Launch day, I make a checklist of things I have to do with the client, such as connecting the site to the domain, to Google Search Console, submitting a sitemap with them, etc. For revision wrap-up, basically I just stop at the end of the day on Wednesday of the 2nd week, any further tweaks are typically tweaks I make for mobile responsiveness or SEO, or to fix an error we've both missed, etc -so nothing extensive or detailed! Here's the video on revision rounds & how I handle that, in case ya haven't made it that far yet: th-cam.com/video/6kJiPkdvHkw/w-d-xo.htmlsi=sNU0A0NiwpTmRmVf For URL redirects, I will be making a video on that soon! 😃 Hope that helps a bit!
Aw, shucks! 🤩 Thank you-- I'm so glad you enjoyed it!! Then you'll probably enjoy tomorrow's upcoming video on my VIP Day processes too. 😉😁 Posts on Tues. at 6am Eastern, so subscribe if ya haven't already & turn on new post notifications so you won't miss it! Hey Lauren, I found you on Paige Brunton's YT and I have been binging your videos the past week lol I am so thrilled to have found you! I find you extremely relatable and so HELPFUL!!! GOD BLESS YOU! lol If you can please create a video explaining the process on how you start a website under your Square space account, this would be golden. Also, do you find this to be best when you are starting out or having the client open up their account first and designing it under their account? (with this method i'm assuming the designer has less control if something where to go wrong with the client) Thank you in advance 😊
Aww, thank you Jessica! 🤩 I'm so glad you're enjoying them (& me)! lol --Noted! I will definitely add that to my list of future video topics; it's a question I get asked a lot as you can imagine. Yes, I ALWAYS start the design in my account, the only exception being projects where the client has specifically hired me to edit a site that already exists (like VIP/Design Days) in which case I get the full amount upfront so I don't have to worry about them taking the work & running away. 😂 It also benefits them, bc if you become a Circle Member, you can pass along a 20% discount on their first payment which is always a nice perk -and they get a longer free trial too so they don't *have* to launch in 2 weeks if they don't want to. 😁
@@launchthedamnthing This makes complete sense. I have the Circle Member as one of my todos. lol I am a newbie as you can see. Thank you so much for your response and feedback. I am looking forward to your future videos!
@@jessicagrenier7103 You're welcome! To apply, you just have to be a Contributor with higher-level permissions (like Admin, but not only that option) on 3 websites with an active paid subscription, whether you started the site in your account or not, -and I think that's it! So I applied after doing my site, and my first two client sites that I did for family members as a trial run for client work, for free. 😂 So you can do it!!
LOVE this video! and I loved comparing it to the VIP video which I am working towards as we speak. One quick question - Do you find that SS mobile design requires a lot of tweaking, particularly from how it looks on the "mobile" computer version vs when you open it on a phone? Any tricks you use?? The mobile tweaking takes me forever!
Thank you Renee! 🤩 I'm so glad you enjoyed it! As for the mobile tweaks, this video might help: th-cam.com/video/yWuauBJmFg0/w-d-xo.htmlsi=GbqN_VrptLL3_lHQ I have 3 'laws' I stick to while designing, then troubleshoot with Responsively App so I can actually see the design on other screen sizes. Nothing's a perfect system, but that definitely helps! 😁
I don't yet bc it's a lot of 'personal preference' type stuff, but I do show you the resources page in this video so you can recreate it with your own, however you want! th-cam.com/video/ubnhLmDRzc0/w-d-xo.html
OMG OMG could you talk more in depth (or point me to the video lol) about booking clients throughout the year? I can feel my brain smoothing just thinking about this 😭😭 3:37
Hahaha! Yes! I will make a note to do a future video on that, just for you! 😉😄 So we can smooth out your brain. haha! In the meantime, that template is totally free if you want to copy it to a free ClickUp account just so you can see how it works, then recreate it in whatever PM tool you're using (Asana, Notion, etc. -anything with task lists & calendar views of those scheduled tasks). 😁 launchthedamnthing.ck.page/project-calendar

You got it, Trevor! It's in the works. 😁 Thanks for adding your vote!
Looking forward to seeing it, as with all your videos!

What was the software you used for the website edit management? You said the clients went on and could pin their comments.
It’s called Markup & I talk about it more in depth in this video: th-cam.com/video/6kJiPkdvHkw/w-d-xo.htmlsi=-21_y1bZvs4MVFoZ 😁
