Yes, we need to be very good in order to figure out what those super GMs are thinking when they spend a lot of time to play a move that seems to be non-sense for us
I love both these guys but I am pulling for Ding, one of my absolute favorites. Great to see him get the W and make it, officially, a match as now each have won a game
I think its aimed at different demographics. Hikaru for sure has a deeper understanding, but without a doubt if Levy wanted he could provide much deeper and insightful analysis.
I'm still not very good, but with every little improvement in my game I notice, or every 50 points I gain, I notice I've developed a deeper understanding of pawns
I think this game shows the human tendency to want to make progress, whether on the attack or on the defense, when the best thing to do is just hunker down and sit tight.
I really like watching chess recaps. But I also like the emotion of not knowing who is gonna win until the end of the match. It would be nice if the spoiler wasnt on the title of the video. That affects a lot :(
Hikaru is so right. How difficult it is to shake off a bad habit even at elite level. This thing is so well known about Ian. He has a tendency to rush in critical situations with no time trouble in sight and make a stupid move. Magnus has said this, Ding hinted about this in his pre-match presser, I’m sure all of Nepo’s trainers must be saying this to him, I’m sure he himself is aware of this, yet he cannot shake this off. Such an amazing player but so frustrating when he does this. Another Ding victory and Nepo will tilt 100% one can be assured. Nepo all talent no mental strength.
Dear GM Hikaru. I hope that GM Hikaru will play again for the FIDE candidates to challenge Ding/Ian. And please play the Benoni or Scandinavian defense. I learn so much from you about those openings.
I believe he said he doesn't dumb down the content, otherwise his skills would suffer. He just doesn't tell every tiny detail, but taking the main routes/ideas, although some of is still skipped because one could analyze a game like this for hours.
I love how Hikaru steps up with these great reviews. Agadmator just misses too many critical moments, and since Gotham tries to pretend chess matches are a Vin Diesel action movie, I can hardly bear to watch his videos anymore. This is such a breath of fresh air in comparison.
"A severe blunder!" at 8:54 . The evaluation bar moves to a pawn down. WIth this criteria, most my moves are severe blunders, and I am not sure what to call my actual blunders.
Please don't spoil the result in the title, I am too busy to watch the games live and don't know the result until I watch your review... Would be nice if it wasn't spoiled
Hikaru is Gold again AS USUAL WITH HIS RECAP!. The man can just talk chess sense into your head!...Who cannot from this?...only Faaar out dudes cannot benefit!😂
@@Paragelmen the commenter was so high level that it looked like a blunder to the commenter. can't blame him/her if it looked like a blunder to him/her.
I have to laugh, because often these minute inaccuracies are called "blunders" by high-level players. Meanwhile, the other day I hung my queen because I happened to miss the rook sitting on the other side of the board. Now THAT is a blunder 😀
Nepo's "blunder" is probably still a good move for FM and IM. But playing that against a high rank GM that can exploit even a marginal inaccurate move can be deadly.
Hikaru: *This is Nepo's biggest weakness*
me, 1600 blitz: *wrote that down*
I hope we can capitalize on that when we have a chance to play with Ian.

I love when Hikaru says a insane game to us was a boring game, makes me remember I suck.

It was boring tho
Yeah I just lost a1100 elo game so I know I suck 😂
Just because it was boring, doesn't mean it was bad. It was a great game

That "Welcome back everyone" is everything.
Its the uncanny valley
Actually I think that "For TODAAYS video" is even more.

at 00:00looks like he was doing sth. lol
U good fam?
Loved the expressions when Hikaru said welcome back 😂
wELCOME bACK eveRYONE! :D
He probably was making a reference to gothamchess
And the fact that his camera is a bit back than usual, we can acknowledge Hikaru's natural 😍
yes it reveals his 'craziness'

Ding seems so humble. I'd like him to win it, though I wouldn't mind Nepo either. I like that it's very close.
Whoever wins this tournament will prove what fake communist country is better at chess.
Maybe Levy uploads recaps faster but Hikaru's analysis is just next level
Levinson is no where near GM level
I think its aimed at different demographics. Hikaru for sure has a deeper understanding, but without a doubt if Levy wanted he could provide much deeper and insightful analysis.
IM vs GM like of course....
Both are goats 😊
Both provide different values.
i love that you mentioned Danican-Philidor's quote "pawns are the soul of the game of chess" at 6:58 ❤️
I'm still not very good, but with every little improvement in my game I notice, or every 50 points I gain, I notice I've developed a deeper understanding of pawns
12:39 Magnus has said this too and I think its one of the reasons he didnt want to meet Nepo again
Picked ding from the start. He starts slow and once he gets going he’s a beast. B
Incredible, thanks for the review on the match!
Btw, this thumbnail is how I imagine Wax & Wayne when I read mistborn books
now I cant unsee it

+1
The job you are making is so good being a super gm and teaching people is so W
I wish there was a confession booth during the games so players can share their thoughts during the games.
this is a great world championship. it's hard to dislike either player. they are both deserving, both great people. may the best player win!
After seeing that thumbnail I’m convinced Ding would become a superstar celebrity and increase 75 rating points with a mustache like that.
Great game! Also, close matches are always more exciting than blowouts.

Bro hikaru almost got an aneurysm doing that introduction LMAO😂 “for todays video”🧨
idk why but that "welcome back, everyone" cracked me up...
We like Din but like Nepo to have a chance and win, Ian is very humble and nice person.
that cheery 'welcome' alone is worth a thumbs up
Great recap! Enjoyed very much... Great alt move(s) review!
Bro that thumbnail is amazing
Watching Trickie Hickie is like watching Levy and Antonio having a love child that’s a super Grandmaster
Really hope you make it there one day! Thanks for making these
WELCOME BACK intesifies every video.
Your recaps are great, GM Nakamura
Loving these recaps
Im not a good chess player but I've been playing since I was a kid. Hikaru thank you for helping me understand and dumbing it down for us 😅😂

Congrats for the 1.9M subs!
I was waiting for this, thanks, hope you keep doing the recaps.
Seems like Hikaru became an internet persona, you can see the tryhard with the voice. Wish he could just be himself.
Kid like ya
I like the "Welcome back everyone" little too much than I should.
Hikaru's "Welcome back everyone" always makes me smile and I like it lol

Making hikaru gonna win the best chess streamer award
when ding is agressive.. hes on point..
Just LOVE that Italian pronunciation "Neponiachy" on 19:05
Video title has hella spoilers in it. I would keep some sort of mystery for those who watch the recap to find out the score
Great recap, thanks.

“Trying to push P here”😏
bro hikaru would make such a good commentator ( and a world champion )
Great coverage of this game, Hikaru!
DING woke up
The match will start now
More like Nepo got sleepy
Hikaru's new "TH-cam Algorithm" personality LOL
Hikaru posted!!! My night is complete!!!
It's the thumbnail 🔥
Please keep doing even the boring games recaps, do them in 5 minutes man! You the greatest!
I loved Hikaru's intros
Brilliant recap. Thanks Hikaru
The preview so amazing!
Nepo threw away the draw with that knight blunder. Redemption for ding.
Great reacp, quality stuff 👌🏽
I perceive these boys have been studied their game
If the Welcome back's pitch keeps increasing, only dogs will hear it by game 14
knight ding and the diatonic triads are winning
Hikaru you it is you who should be playing now in that championship. You deserve it.
If he deserved it shouldnt he have won candidates?
@@adit3186 he missed by 0.5 points... That can be down to luck

The outro where Hikaru said "see you bye" seems so fake but it's also so cute 😊
Ding chilling to the game🎉
Great animated analysis by GM Hikaru Nakamura 🤩!
What a genius photo at start of video
Your smile at the start means everything to me ❤
WELCOME BACK EVERYONE
Welcome back everyone
Hikaru is Gold again AS USUAL WITH HIS RECAP!. The man can just talk chess sense into your head!...Who cannot from this?...only Faaar out dudes cannot benefit!😂
Hikaru you were robbed ! You should be there, playing against Nepo.
nah...
Ding better
Excellent recap !!!!
ding chilling to ding winning to ding grinning.
Ninja hatthori once said -ding,ding,ding,ding just for this moment i guess 😂😂😂
0:00 bro he went from 😐 to 😃
Tbh, I watched the game live and I was not surprised when I saw Nepo's blunders.
However, I always look for your recap as I can learn more from chess
There was no blunders by Nepo. Is was a mistake, not obvious

It is a terrible move at all levels. Just look at ths evaluation bar.
Hikaru at the 0:00 looks like he's about to kill you if you do any wrong move
Welcome back everyone 🎉🎉🎉🎉
If Ding choose this as the right weapon against Nepo it's reasonable to assume he would never play it against Nakamura
i feel so welcome rn
Hikki looks so fit here!
Hikaru's analysis is always really deep. But it makes it even more interesting😂
I love seeing Nepo crumble again
Dingnity regained 😂
ironic and brilliant also the cover picture!
I used to watch agadmator for the "dumbed down" version of chess, but boy, your explanations are world class!
I watch agad, levy and hikaru 's recap for all the games. Thats how excited this championship match is❤
Welcome back everyone!
Ding on the rebound is very dangerous....
Ding chillin like a villain
Should’ve been you there bro! Would’ve loved seeing you go head to head with Nepo
Great stuff Hikaru!
That smile in the start is just priceless
I am sure hikaru is crying from inside
I’m excited to see Hikaru unseat the next world champion by next next year 😁😁
He joke to much for that title
Hikaru, tough day for you today, get some good rest!!
