I personally think that hearing from the players themselves who played such masterpieces would really make a good video idea. It's one thing to hear an experienced (or "novice") analysis of said games, but, it's a whole different thing to hear the inside story, plus get to hear the personal take of the player who ended up turning the game into a masterpiece after working so hard to make that game a reality. I would certainly find it enjoyable and watch it.
It's a schedule nightmare and monetizing it is also pretty hard considering you'll be managing so many talent and there's no hard cash since you rely on the video doing well before seeing any money of it. Say Magnus Carlsen game analyzed Magnus himself will do well versus no-name grandmaster. But then how do you justify the payment for basically "hiring" them for the video. It's a great idea, but you'd need a boatload of cash to get it off it's feet, and it's still a risky gamble anyway since chess trend can die out at any moment.
GM Evandro is one of the best here in Brazil and a very nice person. You guys should take a look on his channel ! It was cool to watch him playing against Nakamura

Magnus: Decent Pineapple man is amazing !!
that idea of youtube channel and professional players giving analysis and insight of how they see the games that they play sounds amazing! I hope Hikaru goes forward with it
Hikaru if you read this.... the idea of top players going over their master pieces it's great. But I think it fails at something that some players might consider important. They do not want to spill their secrets. If they provide analysis of their games they'll feel they'll get caught off guard by showing what they know, be it secret prep, or tricks etc.
What secrets they might spill though, its all laid out in the games. Its more of getting to know what were their ideas and mindsets when they reach certain position beyond their prep.
The whole point is the monetization of their analysis is more valuable than whatever "secrets". If you are that good at Chess like Hikaru, it's not about secrets. It's about a huge amount of experience. Especially in fast time formats. Noone has time to think about things, it has to already be deeply ingrained in the mind.
It's unbelievable how you people would rather watch somebody like Levy who is barely a master and doesn't even play in competition anymore because he couldn't cut it, but an actual super GM who can sustain an actual living just playing chess tournaments at the highest level gets half the views. Chess is supposed to be the intellectual sport, but I guess the masses that play it aren't that. I take advice from the very best, not some random click baiter funny guy that looks like Leon Trotsky.
@@Logan-lk1qp I don't get it. The only good content Levy puts out is the to catch a cheater stuff. Everything else is less instructive than most youtube channels that get barely 1000 views a video. All he does is leech off of Magnus and Hukaru, make click bait with misleading titles and mock lower rated noobs. Give me a chess book anyday over this clown.
I'm almost certain that if players did their own analysis for their games, each video would average less than 10k views if we are being honest. Levi's channel has grown to the point because of his own entertainment skills, and quality analysis of the games. It's like when people watch the TNT crew for basketball or whatever else. Their are players on any field that can be entertainers as well but not every player is cut out to be that way. Levy clearly adds a lot of value to the game and is one of the contributing factors for chess getting big on TH-cam and in general. Let the entertainers entertain and the players play. Players should be looking for more advertisement opportunities, and personal financial ventures rather than trying to make pennies on TH-cam and waste their own time.
can someone explain to me why there always seems to be bitterness in Hikaru when talking about Levy? I was following them a while back and they use to have a lot of good content together.
@@jackquincy6351 that didn't sound like jest.. he basically accuses Levy of being a parasite, which is so off-base. If chess GMs wanted to make that money, they should develop a channel and make appealing chess content that is easily digestible - Levy has done a crazy amount for chess entertainment/accessibility. Hikaru is being obtuse.
@@DWardington He seems a little jealous. Levy isn't nearly as good as Hikaru at chess yet still gets hundreds of thousands more views per video. I agree Levy is entertaining and a very good educator, so it makes me a little uncomfortable to see Hikaru talk about Levy this way, especially considering Levy's respect for Hikaru as a player
@@DWardington how do you not even understand the meaning of "disrespect speedrun" ? Ofc hikaru gonna roast everyone for content and he is only joking. You guys always have to overthinks everything in a negatives way.
The guy who won against Hikaru in the last game is the same guy who got the only draw against him in this speedrun. I believe he's the number 1 rated player from Portugal 🇵🇹 Not only did he draw against Hikaru, but on the rematch he beats him. Crazy

Difficult for me to think about world no. 6 (currently, 5 recently) as a professional streamer not a chess player, you explained it many times but its still funny 😆
It is so good when you are explaining every move, like pawn E5 to prevent rook etc. Keep doing it, thank you
