Heatmolding the mesmer liner did nothing for me on a UK 6.5, a size small intuition liner was much better. I'm a 25.5cm foot. I feel my feet may be a tad to wide too and like you I never skated the original Throne first time around. Great skate though and obviously well thought about.
Same here: heat molding the Mesmer liner twice did nothing for me either (size UK 9.5 with a 28.5 cm foot). Tried them with a myfit 2nd skin liner & it's worked perfectly for me in terms of fit - no pressure points at all. Currently rocking them with a L Danny Beer intuition & it also works quite well. Apart from the liner I absolutely love the Mesmer skates & really enjoy riding them.
Glad you got them to fit! I'm a tad bigger than your foot (26cm) but I have an average, maybe slightly narrow foot. If you don't mind me asking, what size do you think I would want to get? Thank you!
@@almostremembered with stock liners you certainly won't fit in the UK 5-6 shell. You just might get away with it with an intuition liner or myfit second skin liner. However you'll be really pushing your luck for it. You'll definitely fit in the UK 7-8 shell and might even get away with the stock liner, but you should definitely heatmold the liner first. Your best bet is to try them on, don't skate them as this voids the exchange process then if you feel they are slightly to tight you can send them back. 😊
@@almostremembered Thanks, man! Is your foot 26cm or 29cm? Mine is 28,5cm, but you wrote 26cm - that's why I'm double-checking. :) What skates are you currently riding & how do they fit? Do you want to downsize in the Mesmer? Before the Mesmer I was riding (& downsizing) a THEM 909 M shell, which is 29.5cm long with a myfit 2nd skin liner & it fit perfectly. The Mesmer in 43/44 is a bit longer (29.9cm), but definitely more narrow. When I'm using the myfit 2nd skin liner (size 45) in the Mesmer, I still have a bit room left in the toe area. Same with the Intuitions. No chance with the Mesmer stock liner (28,2 cm), however - way too uncomfortable for me & with almost 39 I don't feel like riding "in pain" no more. Hope this helps. :)
I wear size US 12 (29.5). I used to wear size 12 thrones back in the day. The Mesmer skate was unbearably tight but I heat molded it (100C for 10 minutes) and fastened the skate really tight and it now fits like a glove. Very comfortable.
I'm loving these videos guys. Awesome level of detail for a blading nerd like me, and it's great to put faces to all your names. You guys always going above and beyond helping me purchase my blading products and answering my dumb questions / queries. Love Loco Skates!
Regarding downsizing. The Them skates shell S is 268mm inside and mesmer 40 shell is 273mm. My foot is 260mm and couldn’t fit into eu 40 mesmer stock liners. Bought the new premium intuition liners on size 265mm and they fit perfectly to mesmer eu 40 boot.
Another great video. Billy has said multiple times that he "got Brian Shima's blessing to use the SSM soul plates for free." They definitely modified them, but I believe they were created from actual SSM molds from Shima. I agree - I think I prefer them to the old Thrones but I love them both. What I do love is the matte finish, the classic early 2000's Razors colorway, and the fact that they used the wide shell opening in the lacing area.
Yea. I got size 11-12 Mesmers and heat molded them twice and now they feel great. I think you can do it for 2 extra min, so 10-12 mins and then you should be fine. But I think twice does the trick.
Pulled out my all star classic throne shells that I bought back in 2008/09 and put my shima 1 reissue liners in them today. I’m a uk6 in Vans and most other shoes and found the throne shell to have a little more room compared with the cult shell, especially in the toe area. Would say the heel felt like the tightest area.
I used to gut thrones liners in order to fit em. Now you can buy second skins/Intuitions/Reign or any thinner built liner. Add a flat insole and for many boom, you're in. Razors skates in the late 90s came with same wheel, different hardnesses outta the box. Harder obviously on the inside. Nice to see this coming back with current times, looks clean imo. Nice to see what 🐟 is doing with Mesmer. Their team is cool and they brought back the Thrones...Lil tweaks like Mesmer edition second skins as a second liner option outta the box with stabilized rear UFS receptors would be welcomed additions on their next skate. Great content as always guys, the deep dives are great.
Cool vid. Love these geek out vids. Did you know that on the mesmer rising the guys were skating samples, might have been one or two sizes too.. Levis we're two sizes too big!
Just got the Mesmer skates about a month ago. I wear a size 9us in vans shoes and i was able to Downsize the Mesmer to 7. I have high volume narrow foot. I hope this helps to whomever is curious about the fit. Also I downsize my climbing shoes so I’m used to a snug fit.
looking forward to buying a pair. i skated the original thrones back in the day so i know how they fit. they are a narrow skate but its a good narrow. the OGs were light so hoping these are light too.
great review guys. the skate looks amazing. Ok, maybe I am kind of biased here because I used to skate USD throne Abdiel Colberg and Classic Throne Aaron Feinberg. I can confirm that thrones are quite narrow. I loved the idea of putting harder inner wheels best regards from brasil.
27.5mm here, m12-fitting-wideness, and size 43 fits perfect. The stockliner works suprisingly well. 2 sessions without molding, then baked em, no difference😅 but I will still use my intuitions...
I have a 27.5cm foot, fits a EU 43 M12 great. Skating the EU 44 Mesmer with stock liner. They were crazy tight out of the box. Heat molding in the oven makes a big difference around the heel and cuff where the padding is thickest, but doesn't help the front of the foot much or help the toe at all. I had to do some extra stretching to make my toes fit in the liner, but now it is very comfortable. The 43/44 Mesmer shell is about the same size overall as a 45/46 M12 shell (it looks huge next to my 43 M12), so someone with a narrow foot might be able to downsize with a really thin liner. Better to try on in a shop though.
lol ok bro tanks for the truth on the info I rather skate my Salomon whit different soul plates then pay 500$ an keep playing a round bc I got feet problem bc they not true to size don’t mean to b a dick but that is the truth tank god I did not order them
I heat moulded and then skated for a few hours and the fit though snug was comfortable. I’m and 8 foot skating and 8 skate. Same as I used to in original UFS thrones (true to size fit). If you find the stock liners too tight then an Intuition or Reign etc should solve that.
The plate design has intentional cross logo SKATE BRAND recessed. The pattern is diffused on the entire plate to give more support on the entire shell. The shell has been reworked with contemporary design. Both parts has been made by 3D scanning 3D sketching on the original shell.
Hello! Thank you for the dive! Any chance you could weigh the Mes shell + soul that is closest in size to the medium 909? Also what size Mes soul would fit on a medium 909? Also I subbed ! Thank you!
The size uk7-8 Mesmer soul would fit the then medium (with some smallish gaps). We don’t have those Mesmer sizes to weigh, but I think the Mesmer would be just marginally heavier than the Them… not enough to notice though
@@LocoSkates wow thank you for the speedy reply!!!! Love your blade chats!!! And your 909 PR Review and sessions were awesome! thank you! Ill keep an eye out for sizes.
Honestly sizing is a tricky one always, people's feet are so different. But what would help those in the UK, perhaps in Eastbourne and the South Coast is the loco walk in shop... when shall it be open??
Hey Ricardo - if you can wait just a few days we have a full ‘Top 10’ video dropping. I can give you a tip-off now; the 909 placed higher than the Fifth in that poll… but you gotta wait to see what came first 🙃
I will disagree with the sentiment that you can't down size in these skates, specifically for anyone that sits around size 11 or 12 US. If I remove the size 11 liner, and I just stick my feet in the shell, I have a good inch and a half or even more, for whatever reason, the 11-12.5 shell is massive. I'm confident I can downsize to the 10.5 shell with a size L intuition liner, or whatever thin liner of your choice.
I'm really confused about the size of the skate, my feet are 27cm on left and 26.5cm on right, right now skating old ufs evo thrones size 43 44 and they are a bit big for my feet, I'm using hotel slippers under the liner to fit my skates, liner is quite beefy old style. At first skates were really tight for me I heat molted the liners and after some time I guess the liner has broken in and I also lose some weight so it started to feel a little loose and I started to experience heel lift a lot, that's why I inserted hotel slippers under the liner like an insole, also lace it with loops at the end like a runners shoe, that has pretty much solved the heel lift problem. I was really excited to see old thrones with new soulplates, I was thinking size 42 EU will be a perfect fit for me but after some of the comments I'm really confused. In my opinion, shell sizes are not very much different between throne shell and evo throne shell, probably in time liners will break in after a month or so depending on how often and how long you skate, if you'll get your skates bigger then probably you will experience the same problem as I did, so my advice is get your skates true to size and be patient until it brakes in.
Heatmolding the mesmer liner did nothing for me on a UK 6.5, a size small intuition liner was much better. I'm a 25.5cm foot. I feel my feet may be a tad to wide too and like you I never skated the original Throne first time around. Great skate though and obviously well thought about.
