This is the most amazing guide ever. Ever. You saved me a lot of time, even after all the time I spent on trying to piece together information from the internet. If only I put in the correct keywords into google, I might have been able to find this tutorial sooner... (it was "dx6i hk450 swash plate"). All in all, awesome tutorial.

i have the gt pro single frame and the links to the main blades are solid, so it was hard to adjust pitch, so i adjusted the longer links and it still kind of off a little, but it will do only a +-1 degree on visual. but I'm happy with it. I think if I get a bigger size heli it will be better, bigger parts you know. LOL

Hi Tony, like the several comments below: great job on the how to videos and thank you. One thing I was wondering about, and perhaps I missed this in the video, was the use of a head lock, at times its difficult to tell if the flybar is flat, or does it matter? Once again, thank you!

i'll be back repeatedly. very informative. have been into heli's since the early 80's when the schluter era began. i'm new to electric and have a stable of trex's, 5, to be exact. wiring and figuring out current and power rates and curves will be trying for me to say the least. first question: i can shorten my servo leads with precision in order to make a cleaner installation, will this effect the power requierments at the servo?

Thanks SO MUCH this makes set up so much easier. I do have one question on swashplate set up. I've crashed a few times( still learning ;-) ) I want to set the head back to zero so to speak. Basically when it comes to all the push rods for the swash plate is there a measurement to go by to put them all back to 'zero's when I start making adjustments I have enough push or pull on them? right now after making any resets I have little threads left on the ball joints on the swashplate side.
    thanks!

thanks for the series, although I'm a long way from these type copters, I just started with friend getting me a Syma S107g coax micro copter, and I upgraded to a V911 4 channel fixed pitch micro copter, and will one day be upgrading to these I hope :P It's still fun seeing how they work though

Sir: thanks for your kindness and speed, but as I understand this model 450X isn´t anymore available at the online stores, Am I wrong?, and I have to shop online because in my country there aren´t these kind of hobby stores. I also seen these Blade 550X and really love to have one but I can´t find It the stores so far, unless you can tell me about one store where I can find any of these models.
Thanks a lot for all your help.

hehe yea I wanted to dive straight in to CP heli's but a friend told me to master a coax syma s107 then move up to a fixed pitch then move up to cp. So I'm trying to stick to that path... Mainly cause I don't want to spend a lot of money and crash it tearing it up, I'd like to get the basic flight controls mastered for coax -> fixed pitch then take that to a cp heli. :) I'll check out your forum though. And thanks for vids, I'm getting into the hobby kinda late, but still having lot of fun

Sir: I consider myself and intermediate pilot, I even can fly my Blade 200SRX in 3D but not making pirouettes, I also fly my Blade 230S which is collective pitch, I would like to fly a bigger helicopter in the 450 level and not for making pirouettes but plain fun of flying I´m not an expertise in building helis hence I´d rather a bind and fly model, Can you give me any idea about what is best suited for me?, and where I can find It?
    I´ll thank your help.

    Tony,
I set the pitch like you showed in the video, i turned the switch back to normal 0 gear, the swash plate angle down ward on my heli, Is this right? it doesn't look level.
    Thanks
