I'm in the process of starting a small cosmetics business and I am proud to say I will never test on animals or use products/ingredients that are. It's so easy not to so why companies still are is mind boggling! My beagle passed away this year at 17 and it makes me angry to think ppl are hurting animals for frivolous things. You will probably use ingredients that you know are safe. How do you know they are safe? Because they were previously tested in animal trials. You are standing on the shoulders of all the experiments that came before you. If you have ever received a prescription from the pharmacy - you owe your life to animal research.

We adopted a rescue racing greyhound. She had rarely been outside her crate and had no idea how to be a dog. She did at least know how to walk on a leash, but stairs were a big problem.
The BFP inspired me to go cruelty free on everything in my home. It was a slow transition but being a beagle owner myself I stayed motivated. Thank you for sharing the message! Maybe all the "beauty gurus" on TH-cam should use their popularity to influence their viewers to go cruelty free as well.
This is absolutely heartbreaking. When I see a picture of them in the labs I gasp n have to cover my eyes. And the fact that they debarked them is beyond imagination. How dare these labs do this to these wonderful creatures? Thank God for BFP!

I have I rescued lab beagle he's about three years old. still trying to learn how to play. doesn't know to lift his leg to pee. but he's much happier and he's very lovable. it breaks my heart to think of all those that are still captive

Then he woke up an looked bewildered. Was sad.....because I always assumed many dogs who've been beat, maimed, shot, labbed, etc. Just kind of forgot most ...if not all about abuse. My beagle Sam was raised in a lab. Got him when he was 5 and he wasn't potty trained so that was a fun 6 months lol. He's almost 10 now and the most loyal best friend a guy could ask for.

Bitter because they should have had that simple pleasure from their first moment but sweet because they finally get to be who they were always meant to be. Thank you for all you do. Those of us in the real world who dont make money from working in these places or breeders who make money from selling their dogs as commodities, know what this truly means for an animal and theres nothing more precious.
This organization, BFP, is a science denying, emotional manipulator, who is trying to paint a different picture than what actually goes on in research. Research animals, and dogs especially, will be taken outside daily. They are also given the best diets and are seen by a veterinarian every single day. When you are sick - or your child is sick - you go to the doctor in hopes that we have a cure, medication, or procedure that can fix your ailment. We learn things from animal models - in order to save human AND animal lives!

i got a beagle myself. a beagle is sweet and playful. to see these guys locked in a cage and afraid to come out when it's opened --- shocking! but they'll adapt after they are rescued they are too smart to stay afraid.

I just want to shed a bit of light on animal testing from someone who has been involved in it and is in a science field. I work with rats, so a little different but not so different. Dogs and cats are generally treated very well in terms of lab animals, some of the best treated in the industry. Scientists are not cruel people, genuinely. They don't enjoy hurting animals, but they understand that (for some studies at least) its a necessary evil. Animals are treated with at the very least, respect. Many genuinely do care about these animals and try their best to minimize pain and discomfort. This has been my experience in biomedical research with rats. I can't say anything for cosmetic testing or such, I don't deem it as necessary. I don't understand exactly why dog and cat models are used. However, dogs especially are usually frequently handled and kept in nice kennels. While probably not leash trained, they most likely have been on leashes before. They get space to run and play if it doesn't interfere with experimental studies. The animals are often afraid because their environments are sterile and quiet outside of the sounds of other animals and people. Homes have lots of noise and streets have cars. All this is new to them. I worked with rats. I loved those rats. I held them, talked to them, and spent time with them when I could. I'm not the outlier. Of course there are labs that don't follow protocol, but that is not the norm and not respectable in the scientific community. I hope my experience with my lab rats is a little enlightening. I don't pretend to think that everything is humane. Life is unethical. We have to choose our battles and do what we can to minimize suffering at the moment.
Always buy cruelty free products ppl! There's all sorts of good ones out there for every need, house cleaning, personal care, makeup, etc. There is zero reason to test on animals like this anymore. And it's sickening to think what these poor souls have had to endure just for some dumb product like lip stick or a deodorant. The companies that still test on animals should be ASHAMED of themselves & boycotted

mach smith I have no clue but that's important. Animal abusers go to jail (if even for a brief period) because the authorities recognize that hurting animals is wrong. So why should they be used to test things we know are horrible or unnecessary???
There are so many laws, regulations, checks, and balances in regards to how animals are used in research. It would make your head spin to know the hoops scientists have to jump through to use an animal. Look up IACUC for a start and learn about the role of the community member if you want to be involved in helping to regulate what studies get performed.
It's so sad that something so basic as walking on grass is something so alien to them. Humans really are shit. The rescuers are great, but they should never have been put in cages in the first place.

There are so many laws, regulations, checks, and balances in regards to how animals are used in research. It would make your head spin to know the hoops scientists have to jump through to use an animal. Look up IACUC for a start and learn about the role of the community member if you want to be involved in helping to regulate what studies get performed.
