Sadly the D Engines didn´t get enough love. Now it´s really difficult to get parts for the D Engines. Del Sols are really expensive in germany. I wish i was born 10 years earlier. 💔
I'm 30yrs old and got me a clean 93 del sol bard with a gsr swap. I won't ever leave the honda scene especially because my son has the same passion for cars as I do
My boy joe is awesome! Thanks for the shout out joe! And I agree with the fact that the delsol gets no aftermarket support. The only reason is has some support is because it has an eg chassis. If it weren’t for that we wouldn’t even have coil overs
I just bought one two weeks ago and I'm 38 haha. Been looking for months and only because the idea came up haha. But I was determined to get a Del Sol...crazy how much they are going up in price! But I can't wait to give it a paint job. Mine is Dark Green but I will want it all black...don't know yet haha. I don't want to do too much! I like the simple and clean look.
I just picked up a del sol 1.7l vtec and am going to redo the paint black like this and bronze wheels. I can't wait to get it lookin nice. I had a b16 del sol all red that was stolen in high school. Also was my first car.
OMG I am 30 yrs old and this dude is soo like me... I was broke 10 yrs ago working shitty jobs cant afford to fix up any car... now i am blessed driving 18 wheelers for a living and drive a 98 ek hatch and 1986 el camino
There is so cut off on liking modded cars. Yea I am starting to see this a lot more and I love it. Even the CRX's. I like that little wing too. That valve cover is beautiful.
I also have a EK hatch but not even as close of a fun drive my del sol is so fun to drive it’s also supercharged it’s like driving a go cart so much fun
"stock as hell" "completely stock" - Proceeds to show it is dropped, non standard wheels, after market steering wheel, modded stick shift, resonator delete. Plans for stock seat removal, turbo...etc etc. This car WAS a survivor but is definitely well on the way to being highly modified and losing that CLEAN original fit, finish, feel and reliability.
As a del sol owner, were the forgotten Honda. I love how quirky these cars are. Theres only 3 in my town, and about 8-10 total within the northern half of my state.
Clean ride Joe. Just picked up my first 93 Del Sol Si with 94600 miles here in Arizona. All original stock equipment, black just like your car. Great running little car. Thanks for the video Automotive Anatomy. Keep them coming.
thumbs up for keeping it mostly OEM. Underrated car, it just need to be sharpened it a little bit. The roof crossbar is cool but may need some padding :). I have a green ´92 myself.
I was the OEM only guy from my 1990 prelude, 90 civic and 95’ accord exr coupe…all changed as an old guy…bolt on tuned 09’ rdx, didnt have TH-cam Univ back then or online parts.
I had a 94 that got stolen--RIGHT after I did a killer paint job. Now I have a 97 (but I switched out the front bumper for the original style. It's got some other mods: It's got a 1.8 liter Type R Acura motor, stainless steel braided brake lines, ceramic headers, it's lowered, with beefed up coil-overs, and the hood, roof, headliner, roll bar cover, trunk, and rear facia are all carbon fiber. Doing the roof and headliner was a mistake, really, because the stock aluminum top weighs about the same, and the carbon fiber makes noise if the top is up (which it never is unless it's raining.) One thing I did was get billeted aluminum levers for removing the roof, to replace the plastic ones, which tend to break. I also got JDM interior door handles that have little lights built into them. I used to auto-cross it a lot: th-cam.com/video/xGYi8f4h6r0/w-d-xo.html
@0:52 had me confused when he said it was a type S. was thinking gray stripe, drum brakes, d15b7 engine but nope, that looks all kinds of SI. Clean ride, I just picked up a 94 black del sol SI from a lady that had it since 1994.
U and me the same I picked up from an old lady she also kept it in the garage, all maintenance recorded, and it was her first car back in 98 second owner, everything bone stock, everything worked, b16a3... I’m 34 I think I love this car, I wanted an S2000 but went with a 90s car. I’m going with the JDM STYLE LOOK, OEM, this is my daily. I’m 2020 this car is a neck breaker I love my daily driver.
My first heavily modded car I owned as a Del sol, where I engine swap, turbo you name it. But a glaring issue became clear the chassis frame is just too flexy to be a good platform for Motorsports. If you park you car at an angle on your driveway you won’t be able to take off you hardtop or put it back on. This pretty much tells how soft the frame is. This is a shame because I loved the look and size of the car. Any other civic would be a better platform for modding. Sold the car soon after and moved to other platforms. It does look clean lowered and could be a nice cruiser if performance is not the goal I guess.
i have a jdm sir 1992 sol out here in New Zealand its super fun to drive through the corners , sticks to the road well. i think the sir has the double wishbone upgrade , I've owned a few fast cars and this thing is pretty tight and quick on its feet
People always that shit gets me laughing all the time turboed candy painted 3 peice wheels leather wrapped k20 but other then that nothing really all stock bro bro honda bro

Awesome cars too bad at 6,2" it's a little snug for my taste but I've always liked Del sol builds keep up the awesome content. Respect and congrats to this dude for being himself and choosing a different platform.
Del sol's dont get the respect it deserves. Shit is simple and clean. Gotta respect the build.
Cuzz they heavy, to much body flex
Ye indeed. Its a badass platform
@KONRAD no they are heavy people peopleuse eg Ek for the wider wheel base something the crx don't have.
@KONRAD no can not cut down a del sol weight as much as a eg. They have factory reinforcement because they are target top
Sadly the D Engines didn´t get enough love. Now it´s really difficult to get parts for the D Engines. Del Sols are really expensive in germany. I wish i was born 10 years earlier. 💔

So true!
Big facts
Really cool 😎 video - love that everyone in the family is getting a del sol
Haha awesome! Thank you for the support. I am glad Del Sol has a small but strong community.
I'm 37 in a sol owner myself. I love how you keep it clean its the same look I'm going with my car.
My boy joe is awesome! Thanks for the shout out joe! And I agree with the fact that the delsol gets no aftermarket support. The only reason is has some support is because it has an eg chassis. If it weren’t for that we wouldn’t even have coil overs
Sweet! I am glad your keeping the chassis alive!
Congrats on the awesome find and a great look. Honda4Life!!!

Wow. Cool skills Joe has!
I have a 94 del sol for 10 years now.
Wow 10 yrs hopefully 20 more to go
Before it got stolen, my 94 S got a solid 39 mpg on the highway.
Clean and simple. Super cool daily!👏👍
Yes I need a clean daily.
Same here just turn 30 and I'm looking for one now

My buddy here in Toronto had one with a K swap and got featured in a big car mag back in the day. He sold it and the guy trashed it, I was so sad
Nobody will take care of things like the builder
Wow… great find/story. Congrats and enjoy!
Glad you enjoyed it

Still looking cleaner than a motherfucker
Literally thinking the same exact thing when watching this video lol
Did he not say “engine is stock”?... that’s what he was talking about.
For real, what the fuck is with that x bar where the roof goes? That thing is ugly af.
My favorite car!My first car also!!!!My first car I love it the American and Canadian vtec version

Where in AZ I'm in Phoenix and am looking for one lol
I love my del sol omg there so good
Cool story , Red Del Sol was my first car in high school in 2000’s. Looking for one project just like yours clean and black or red.
Love this. My del sol is a work in progress. Takes a long time to get that clean.
thumbs up for keeping it mostly OEM. Underrated car, it just need to be sharpened it a little bit. The roof crossbar is cool but may need some padding :). I have a green ´92 myself.
