Hi Cliff and Diane, marvellous harvest, am envious of those mini Cole cabbages they like all the produce look luscious. Don't ever worry re the motorway noise sounds almost like wind in the willows.
Your gardening experience is a joy. To be able to grow so much, so well is beautiful. We have had to downsize and can no longer grow as much as I would like. Thank you.
Wonderful harvest cliff, it really was a treat to see, and don’t worry about any noise Diane tbh it wasn’t that bad, and the very fact you both take the time to do the videos is just fantastic Walt’s and all 😊 stay safe David 👍👍
Thanks David, we do worry about the noise, especially traffic and chickens. We do try to film on quieter days, although not always possible. Thanks for your comment regards from us both.
So nice of you RawLondonGardener, because of the unpredictable weather I did not sow calabrese, kale, and sprouting broccoli. With the cauliflowers coming so early I'm glad I didn't, as we would have lost them regards Cliff.
It’s all looking very good Cliff & Diane, love the look of your Cauliflowers, just reminded me to cut mine tomorrow before they blow, I can see that they are growing quite well, they seemed to have put a spurt on all of a sudden, they are called Boris. And I also have a couple of cabbages almost there called “Stonehead” that are thriving really well , so they will be out tomorrow too, will be busy blanching and freezing that’s if we can find space in our freezers ! Thanks for sharing ,keep well and safe and will see you both on the next one! 👍👍 Dave.
Thanks Dave, not grown Boris not seen that one, but Stonehead is a good cabbage. That's one of our problems also finding space, luckily our daughter lives close and helps us out. Thanks for watching regards from us both.
Look forward to your channel every week, I find you so inspirational. You're knowledge of gardening is something to be proud of. Do you blanch and freeze your cabbage or just freeze them ? 😊
Thank you so much Dawn, we don't freeze the cabbage It will last over a week in the fridge. Also the mini cole will sit well in the garden for a long time regards Cliff.
Thanks for this! The veg all look beautiful! The sound of the dual carriageway really isn’t too bad! We are enjoying sugar snap peas this year, my wife sautés them In butter, adding sesame seeds and some Lemmon juice. The Lemmon somehow thickens the sauce, delicious!
Fingers crossed Adam, I am sure you will soon. Some crops are early this season and some are very late, strange weather. Good luck with your harvest regards Cliff.
You achieve a level of perfection with your produce that is enviable. My crops have been patchy so far, but I don't need a lot to make it all worthwhile. Onions and spring onions have been poor and are just taking up space. I've had more blossom end rot than ever before, but like you I am inundated with cucumbers! Greek salad with everything! Early container potatoes are lovely and I'm due to lift the first row in the soil soon. I have some seed grown asparagus to get in the ground - an investment for future years! The slugs and snails have been ruthless this year..... It's putting me off setting more seed as I feel I will just be feeding them! You and Diane must have a warehouse full of chest freezers somewhere for all your goodies😂
Thanks Neil, my onions are about the same as yours, Its all weather related. We use quite a few yogurt pots with beer in, they are just controlling the slugs, Coffee ground have helped a little. We have two chest freezers in our boot room, and a American style fridge freezer in the kitchen. Enjoy your new potatoes have a good weekend regards Cliff.
Oh I love your videos, I'm always so inspired to cook. My garden was a total failure this year, the grasshoppers and excessive heat but I have purchased seeds for next year and I'm hopeful! Do you know the best time to plant the red currant bushes? thank you in advance
Oh no Lisa sorry to hear that. We are struggling here to get a dry day, weird weather everywhere. Just been rained off again today. The red currant is best planted at your coldest time of year before your freeze. Put a good mulch around it regards Cliff.
Hi Cliff and lovely Diane Those are some smashing cauliflowers will go perfectly with a bit of CHEESE SAUCE 😉😉 Your cucumbers are performing well our are uust starting , Val brought me or should i say us a white and red current bushes after i was talking to her about not seeing the white current much these days, have you got your fabulous yellow peppers this year.
Thanks Bill & Val, when we freeze the cauliflower we always use in cauliflower cheese, the sample we had was delicious. Pleased to hear you have red and white currants, they are always good croppers. No colour on the peppers yet, not enough sunlight at the moment. Hope you are both well regards from us both.
Hi Lesley, as the cauliflower matures the curds turn into seed heads, and spoil for table use. By tying or bending the leaves over slows the process down. Thanks for watching regards Cliff.
Wow, cauliflowers are beauties, lots of cucumbers. Your garden is thriving Cliff, I'm so happy for you. Mine small garden not so good. Nothing does well in the scorching heat we have, temps of 38 to 40 celcius.
Thanks Helen, If we had temperatures like yours, we would not be able to produce much of a crop. you are doing well to have any garden crops. Regards from us both.
Hi Pastor Shaun, pleased to hear you are harvesting soft fruit, red currants shouldn't be long as the weather changes. Enjoy your weekend regards Cliff.
Hi Cliff and Diane, marvellous harvest, am envious of those mini Cole cabbages they like all the produce look luscious. Don't ever worry re the motorway noise sounds almost like wind in the willows.

Great harvest. Please explain why you cover your cauliflowers?
Hi Lesley, as the cauliflower matures the curds turn into seed heads, and spoil for table use. By tying or bending the leaves over slows the process down. Thanks for watching regards Cliff.
