      Hello , i think it's not 28 % it's in 72% of population the mesiobuccal root of 1st molar is not anesthetized by PSA nb because in 72% this root is supplied by MSA nerve

      @@zeynebgouhiri6599 actually i was trying to say that in 28% of PSA blocks the mesiobuccal root of maxillary first molar is not anesthetized (source: stanley malamed)

    Trying to remember a day in my last seven yrs practice. When I gave psa ,infra orbital
    Just deep infiltration is sufficient.....

      @@sanjananarala4478 it's basically to check whether you have entered a blood vessel by mistake. When you see blood in syringe after aspiration, it means its positive. In that case, never inject the solution. Retract the needle a bit and aspirate in another plane, if this time, there is no blood, go ahead with injecting the solution. RULE OF THUMB: never inject without doing aspiration first and if it's positive don't inject the solution.

      Why you shouldnt inject when there is positive aspiration: Because the solution will go into the bloodstream and produce undesirable systemic effects
