- Welcome to Florida folks! Day one and I'm getting to grips with a huge stuffed pizza known as 'The Made Man Challenge'. You get 30 minutes in which to eat a doughy monstrosity, filled with sausage, pepperoni, ham, salami, cheese...and that's just the stuff I can remember.

Q: How come you don’t get fat?
A: I eat like this for 1 hour of a 168 hour long week. In simple terms, I eat at caloric maintenance over the course of time, meaning I don’t gain weight. If you're interested in learning more, see the ‘But How Come You're Not Fat' and 'It Was Just A Normal Day...' videos available on my channel.
Q: Don’t you worry about your health?
A: Not in particular. I’m active. I eat nutrient dense foods five days a week. And, I get quarterly bloods done, amongst other health checks.

What I don't understand is that the owners don't realize that advertising on this channel is worth much much more than having to give out a free meal and a t-shirt. As long as they behave reasonably fairly.

I attempted that challenge around 7 years ago. I can say that it was an hour and there was no sauce you were required to eat. I can also tell you that ordering a normal large stuffed pizza is actually way tastier because the "special" one they make for the challenge is actually just all the same ingredients from the large one but more condensed. The regular large stuffed is just such a perfect balance, Great pizza for anyone who gets the chance to try it.

Well you did say it was 7 years ago when you attempted it do you think it's possible that they changed the rules in that time?
@@dandrake8788 Sure it's possible, but it would be mighty odd to add on a bowl of marinara sauce as part of a pizza eating challenge. Or even a rule that if you ask for dip for the crust you have to eat a big bowl of it. Just imagine if Beard had asked for garlic butter to dip his crust in.
I checked the menu on their website and it just says "Try our pizza eating challenge" with no details. I'm guessing they change the rules depending on how many people accomplish it.

Restaurant shenanigans in this video:
1) Promotes the eating contest with a 60 minute time limit. Shows up and it’s half that.
2) Requires that eaters empty a bowl of marinara sauce, but doesn’t provide a fork or spoon.
3) No T-shirts in stock.

No kidding. Make you eat the sauce when it was optional, and telling you that you can`t leave the crust in the sauce. Geesh. And no t-shirt to boot. Yep, the dude in the Humphrey Bogart hat definitely wanted you to lose. Don`t hold your breathe waiting for the shirt.

Bread+ meat filling+ oven is a food item that appears in almost every culinary tradition.
This one is a beast indeed. You faced it and put it down with ease.

How you eat the portions you can is amazing and terrifying. I think what's even more amazing and terrifying is how you manage to pass all of this. Having spent most my life in Florida, that "post-credits" shot was accurate af, couple big ole birds just casually having a stroll in front of a CVS, just another day lol
I think they're Sandhill cranes. My friend ends up with then in her yard from time to time.

I'm surprised your comment was the first one I saw about that. Its a pet peeve when restaurants change their rules like this. Do you think pulling up their own rules would make a difference? Whats the point in pulling this type of schtick anyway?

It is entirely possible that they have actually changed the rules, just not updated their website.
The rules always seem to change when they know a professional eater is taking the challenge.
I think it comes down to how young and inexperienced the staff was.
This looks like the best thing ever!. No way I could eat it all at one time but I would love it.

Beard! New member to the Army! In the States back in the 80's, Pizza Hut had a stuffed pizza called the Priazzo. Mighty tasty - I wish they'd bring it back. Nice win!!
I forgot about that. I remember we ordered one during a Super Bowl when I was a kid. I think I talked my parents into it.
I was a total sucker for advertising back then. And they advertised the heck out of it. I think I liked it. Thanks for bringing up an old memory. ✌️

Usually in Italian pies like this are named depending on what you put inside them and from the region they are made. Very often there are similar dishes with very different names.
E.g. a pie with spinaches is "Erbazzone" in some places and "Torta pasqualina" in others. And they look different even if they share the main ingredients.
As a general rule I would say it is not a "pizza" but a "Torta with ham and all the other stuff". Be aware that "Torta" also means cake so it is implied that this is a salty one and not sweet.

Wow! I may have to go out to get a Stromboli from the NYC pizza place here in my area of DFW! Looks good! I imagine I could finish about 1/2 to 2/3 of that in 30 minutes.
This is one of few challenges I like everything you have to eat.... Meat pizza is my fave. Not fond of veggies. That looks delicious. I'd be stuffed way before half though, no way I could down that whole thing. Nice job. 👍

Up in the north we call those Stromboli. They aren't usually shaped like that though. They're usually long like a pizza burrito.

I've lived all over the US and I've only ever seen that particular thing referred to as a "stuffed pizza". For all intents and purposes though it is a Stromboli. Stromboli are usually just a long roll though but I think ingredients and ratio of ingredients make it the closest to a stuffed pizza.. it doesn't have the ricotta like a calzone would.
In the UK it would be classed as a calzone, you wouldn't find ricotta in a UK pizza place let alone on the pizza

stromboli is supposed to be a rolled up pizza basically, but yeah places around here (northeast USA) usually call things like this a stromboli

I think it's more like a combination of a stromboli & a Sicilian pizza but its round instead of square. Looked great but I'm sure that crust was horrid to get past lol bravo!!

The closest thing to this is probably a sciacciata siciliana, although this dough looks a little thicker. We buy it here in Catania from the pizzeria by the kg.

Sciacciata siciliana is delicious! I’d say it’s closer to that than stromboli. Stromboli is a different shape and is more folded.

What's the difference between that and a Stromboli?
@@waynestevenson8890 As I understand, its all in the preparation. A stromboli is a rolled up pizza, while a calzone is a pizza folded over on itself.

in the south of italy we call it Focaccia. although up in the north focaccia is just the baked dough of the pizza flavoured with some salt and herbs…
