Really glad I found this video…grandmother lived across from the Physic House between 3rd & 4th on Delancey. Fondly recall playing half ball dodging an occasional car, and dodge ball with the aid of the brickwall that surrounded the Physic House. There was a fire house back in 50s, early 60s, where the children's park is presently located. The firemen were great with the kids on the block. If you ever desire a much quieter and historical venue that may rival Philly’s Society Hill, check out Historical Old New Castle in nearby Delaware? Just a 35 minute drive down I-95 with no parking problems, a scenic Delaware River waterfront walk that is scooter friendly and a definite connection to William Penn as there is a statue of him indicating his initial arrival on American soil @ Old New Castle, October 27, 1682.

Hi...I came across your video and I watched it cause you were going on Lehigh ave and to Kensington ave. I lived in Philadelphia on Lehigh ave years ago when I was 9. I loved living there and it was so much better than it is now. I got to see st. Anne's church where I made my communion. I was happy to see that the house we lived in is still there. I got to see it a couple of years ago from the internet. It is the blue front one just passed Jasper street. It was so nice to see it. I will be watching for more of your video. My dads family lived on almond street . My moms family lived on Belgrade st. My aunt lived in fishtown. My aunts house was in the news because her house fell down one day. Thanks for the memories.

Fun fact, one of the only six Founding Fathers who signed both the Declaration of Independence and U.S. Constitution is quietly buried in Trenton. He was born and raised in Philly.

Wow brother I was one of those carriage drivers for some time many years ago. The story about the soda house is true as is most of the info you provided. Kudos on a really fine job. You and I have like interest. I too am a drone enthusiast looking to do and learn a lot more with drones and I've watched some of that content and subscribed to your channel. I too am in recovery. A Philly native and fan. Starting a TH-cam presence. Perhaps I can occasionally get some advice from you? Or maybe any hand-me-down or greatly reduced price equipment you no longer use/need, video/audio recording/editing software or equipment and/or drone recommendations. I'm still a novice "recreational pilot" without my part 107 certification. Anyway WTF is a blue Johnson? I really want to know (my baby), I really want to know.
So. Philly SARGE ( sidenote-my nickname comes from the rank I earned while serving the Army)

I too am an Irishman. I am Steve Kelly, I hope to have the pleasure of meeting you someday. Perhaps a history tour or other shared Philadelphia attraction or activity if you please.

While in Philadelphia living with the Washingtons Ona Judge escaped to freedom and was never caught . She was a fugitive her entire life . Slavery was outlawed in Pa. and there was a law that if an enslaved person lived in Pa. more then six months they could be free. Washington got around this law by taking his slaves to New Jersey or Virginia before the six months so they couldn’t be freed . Says a lot about our first president’s character.
