Great information, I just upgraded my original Gauntlet .25 per your instructions and it works great again. Also ordered the Buck- Rail can for my Gauntlet .30 its much quieter can't beat the quality for 40 bucks. Thanks for the great video and information sir!!!
My 25 cal shoots great with stock bottle, avg 48 ft/lbs with the 25.39 kings. So I swapped to the bigger (TRUE) 1900 psi Reg and tank for more shot count. Sound of screeching brakes! Now I get less speed and FT/lbs, avg 860 at 42 ft/lbs. These rifles are definitely like a box of chocolates, no? Turns out my original tank is only 1700 psi with repeated advice to set up hammer spring for new pressures. Another site reported owners tanks are all over the map 1700 - 2000 psi. Heck, I'll just jam 2200 psi and see what comes out? Cheers.
Great topic. I bought my upgrades through Hajimoto. He has the regulars set up by caliber. I also have the Buck Rail supressors. Yes, they work excellent! I think they were under 20. Great video. Happy Easter
Now you see, the intro. That’s a good friend right there, you could tell he was feeling that badass role and he took it past the 100 yard line in the intro, so cool. I’m going to edit this comment once I’m done the vid as well🙏🏻 Edit: awesome vid as always my friend. Funny story, just last night a good buddy of mine recommended this exact rifle for my first pcp airgun. Not even 12 hours later, I get home from work, check your page to see what you’ve got going on, and there she was, a whole vid AND extra mods for the exact same beauty. Just a funny coincidence and a good way to come home after work🙏🏻👍🏽 you’re the man JC, I love this stuff
I really appreciate you watching! I guess timing is everything. I did do a full review on both the .22 and .25 Gauntlet awhile back. Check that out if you haven't already. That was "Max" aka "Fat Bat" enjoying that CAO in the intro. Hopefully we'll see a bit more of him in the future. The .25 Gauntlet is a fun rifle and extremely accurate. I also did some trigger work on that one. Again, thank you for the comments. Happy Shooting 👍
Great informative video JC. I am planning on doing this to my 25 gauntlet gen 1 as well. I couldn’t help but notice you have the same issue as everyone else with the pellet probe being stiff going into the barrel. I found out if you chamfer and polish the breech end of the barrel it will help a lot. I am also planning on doing that as well. 🤙🏼😎
JP..thank you for watching. The rifle does have a heavy bolt that is for sure. Are am sure that would help. I also don't have but a handful of rounds through this rifle. I think more rounds may help it smooth out as well.😉👍
Very cool! Starting to learn about modding pcp rifles. On the hunt to figure out what i can do to hot rod my Reximex accura .25 cal. Seen ppl drill out ports and swap hammer springs and such on others but havent found and parts or info about hot rodding one yet. I understand a longer barrel would add pfe as well. I hit up reximex asking while back havent heard back yet. Also seen ppl add regulators like you show in this mod video. Appreciate the informative content. Blessed day to you and yours.
Different spring washer configuration will add or decrease FPE. Write down as As found and any changes. Spring washers come in different materials and thickness.
Got my Guantlet .25 and after watching youd video I got the bigger upgraded tank and regulator set at 2200 psi. The tank says it's safe to fill up to 4,500 psi . Since its a regulated shot....is it safe to fill it to say between 3800-4000 psi and wouldn't this give me more shots per fill ? So far ive only filled it up to 3200 psi ....it will go through a 1" thick board with no problem !!!! (and right through my wifes flowerpot that she won't be happy about)
Yeah most his videos are expect this one, not tagging the link so we can get this upgrade, why would he post a video about an upgrade but doesn't show us where we can get it? Also he says for under $100, I'd like to see where. All I can find is $189 plus for a bottle like that with set reg for 2100psi output pressure.
Any regulator suggestions for a Gauntlet .30 carbon fiber bottle (M18x1.5 bottle thread)? Chinese online ones didn't work out for me, they can't really do the 3000psi output well, just leaked. The gauntlets block threads are G1/2 14 so that is well universal with most regulators I've found, it's just the darn depression pin type on regs I can't seem to find a proper one that the gauntlet can push in right.
Can't you go and change the hammer spring to a harder one? Or at least on the .177 or .22 - if upping the og regulator or installing a complete airtank set with new reg completely? Though... This truly is the "easy" as mentioned in the video title.
I am sure there is a way but that would be the key to increasing the power. Imagine the velocity you could get out of the .22 caliber with a heavier hammer spring and a 2200 psi regulator. The key is finding a spring and then replacing it. Sounds like a project for Bror!😉👍
@@AirgunDetectives 😂👍🏻 First I'd just need to find my Gauntlet. I think it looked just amazing the first time round already.. And then came the G2 and stepped it up even some more (even though I think I prefer the looks/design of the G1 a bit more than the G2. But way nice either way imo.
The first gen Gauntlets are now going for $225, and I would love to get one at that price...PLEASE where did you find the thread compatible tank and regulater. I can find inly tanks with M18 threads and regs with 5/8' threads on Amazon. Any help would be greatly appreciated, Thanks in advance.
Hi Joe, I purchased mine on ebay a couple of years ago. You might not find the same regulator filler valve/gage configuration (180 degree) but there is room for the gage to point upward, under the barrel, and the filler port out to the side (45 degree) Good luck.👍
I don't have a link since I purchased that a few years ago. I would look on eBay. Also, the regulator may line up a bit different, but that is okay as long as the filler valve is lined up in the right direction so it's easy to fill. Most paintball stores could set you up with the tank and the valve. Happy Shooting!
Yea the valves with 2200psi have a pressure meter on the front and the filling nipple is on a place where a gauntlet needs the nipple on the back side, but the valves on ali, eBay ans Amazon is the nipple 90 degrees in stead of 180 degrees. So the meter is on the left or right an the filling nipple needs also to be on the left or right....
Yes...you just need to determine the tank thread on the stock regulator and match that. Those stock regs are really on the bottle extremely tight. But you could definitely do that.👍
Hi JC, i ordered the buckrail moderator for my gauntlet gen 1 25 cal like in your video. Do i just screw the unit in without anything else? Or is there a spring that goes in first? The moderator from terry didnt come with one but i have the original parts that came installed in the rifle. Thank you!
I believe the Buck-Rail comes with an insert attached to the suppressor. Double check with Terry. I no longer have mine, and I can't remember for sure😔😉👌🏼
Hey JC. I have a longer bottle and regulator I would like to try on mine. But it's output is set at 1800psi. Will the rifle still fire at this pressure or should I just order another regulator? Thank you!
Hi Steve, I assume you a referring to a .25 caliber rifle? The 1800 psi will work but the rifle will have less FPS/FPE since the stock regulator is 1900 PSI. That 1800 psi will not work on a .177 or .22 caliber Gauntlet because of the softer hammer spring. The max you should go on the .25 caliber is 2200 psi. Happy Shooting!
Sure. As long as the tank is never filled higher than 3k psi. Technically the tanks can hold MUCH MUCH more than the rating. Otherwise people would be killing themselves all the time. Also make sure your tanks are hydrostatically tested every 3 years for safety. These things actually expand and contract every time they are filled. Its almost impossible to notice but they do. Over time the tank will weaken. Hydro testing is fairly cheap, about 30-50 bucks . Don't skimp.
What thread size is needed on regulator to fit in Gauntlet? Understand 5/8"-18UNF for reg to bottle, what thread is other end? Also, can only find regs with gauge and foster fitting at 90 degree setting, can regs be changed to have gauge and foster in direct line, as required for this application, or is a special reg required? Thanks
David, that is the standard paintball thread G1/2-14. As far as the regulator you have to make sure it is the smaller diameter gauge (Black Colored). It will go directly under and facing the bottom of the barrel. You can still read the pressure level. Happy Shooting!
@@AirgunDetectives Thanks, got new tank today, will attempt to re-use regulator. Accuracy and FPE were never a problem, just shot count. A 230cc tank is too small for a .25, 380cc is more appropriate.
@@AirgunDetectives Thank you. I was wondering if the larger tank with the regulator of the smaller one would work, and if so would it increase the shot count significantly? I get 24 shots 3 mags of 28g Benjamin domes from the small tank filled to 3000 psi.
Why do you need a suppressor? If you whack a bird the other birds are gonna see it and fly off most of the time. If you hit an iguana they re alone. Plus the 100$ upgrade just for 8 more shots? The gun is powerful enough. You can buy a pump for it just like a bicycle pump.
Ever watched dove hunting or pigeons, those birds won't fly away they just stay there like dummies looking at the dead pigeon next to em till you shoot them too 😂 all depends on species of bird, and also a lot of people do backyard plinking and this rifle does bark quite a bit not all neighbors are used to that so that's the reason for suppressors.

In order to go with that type of Reg you would need a heavier hammer spring.
Why look down scope if you do not flip the scope caps open ?
Is it ok to put a Inlet 4500psi, Outlet 2200 psi Compressed Air Regulator on a 3000 psi tank.
Sure. As long as the tank is never filled higher than 3k psi. Technically the tanks can hold MUCH MUCH more than the rating. Otherwise people would be killing themselves all the time. what is the output pressure of these regulators? I see 4500, 3000, etc. but they all have 800psi output.
The out-put pressure varies. You have the rated pressure value, 3000-4500 psi, but you need the proper output pressure.. ie.2200 psi
Adding shims behind hammer is another mod. You'll only add to many once. You'll know it when you screw in the bottle You'll hear the air releasing.
