😅🤣Also “when you work with electrics you have to be careful, something could happen to your family which would be horrible especially if you like them” 😁
I laughed out loud when Philip was giving his disclaimer regarding electrical maintenance. After all you could hurt your family and that would be awful especially if you liked them 🤣
me too, I have been widowed for 5 months now, which of course is during this ghastly covid virus and here in Canada we're back in another lockdown. This is the first time I've not only laughed but laughed out loud. God bless you Phillip.
Re: The Hidden Door - I vote to make it a useable door. Unless I am missing something, the convenience of having direct, discreet access to the kitchen while hosting guests in the dining room outweighs the utility of having a bar. I like white for a laundry room - seems appropriate. Per usual, enjoyed your video.
As a child in the 70’s my parents renovated a Victorian property. I only got to see my Dad if I worked with him on projects. It made me a resourceful person with DIY skills and no fear of fixing things. A great upbringing for any child. Hope Anna feels better soon.
Praises to Anna for her impressive Upper Body/Arm Strength.....high walls/ceiling painting with roller extension, etc. Phillip's Office+ laundry area Outstanding❣
I'm 65 and I still do it. The trick is to stand back and rock back and forth, letting your legs do some of the work. As much as she's painted she's got the muscles.
While your delightful humor, attention to detail and historical accuracy, refined taste, and commendable diligence are all greatly appreciated, it was the sweetness of a father encouraging his daughter's desire to assist that won my heart. And what child would not love showing their friends the secret door?
Please leave the rainbow walls and hidden bars for other chateaus. Your style has freshness and elegance, and makes your place inviting, neat, and warm. Keep up the good work!
A secret door and entrance into a whole other room is very cool to me. Put drinks in a cabinet in both rooms. No one else has secret doors! Wonderful vlog. Lovely girls and family.
I have an affection for the colour green. When we moved into our house I was told that I wasn't allowed to paint all the rooms in green. I settled on some soft buttery yellows and ever so slightly green greys in addition to the greens I manage to sneak in. I am in favour of keeping the secret door with bar access on both sides. It is such a unique feature.
I can physically feel all the work you have done. My dad built and renovated 13 homes, my brother did 3 of his own homes, my mother had 13 rental properties and did most of the "fix-it," tasks herself and I either volunteered or was required to help with them all ! After the first two years for most of the projects it was a test of self-will to continue. You guys are doing so good!
I just wait for your videos every week to laugh! Phillip is so funny I just cannot take it. He was standing there with his jacket like a Dolce and Gabbana model. I just love him!
I am fairly new to this channel but i loooove Phillip's personality, i live for it. The dry wit and humor and sarcasm. "That's how you become an influencer"😂😂😂😂😂😂
I think you should convert it back to to a hidden door to the dining room. Philip is HILARIOUS! The editing room looks great (I STILL would have gone with option #2)!!
I vote for restoring the doorway. Does anyone else just burst out in laughter or snort their coffee when Philip delivers one of his quips? There's nothing better than someone who makes you laugh!
That finished room is a dream. Small enough to showcase the chandelier. The gold yellow paint is so right on. A pleasure to see these messy rooms come to fruition.
The room is so so nice!!! I’m hoping you’re feeling better by now Anna. It was cute to see Lily helping Philip with the light fixture - a little renovator in the making. 🥰
So funny when Phillip said he had parked on the sidewalk!! Each video seems to top the previous--all so humorous and endearing. Lily is very patient and smart. My vote goes for keeping it a secret door---stay with original intent. Brave Anna for teeth extraction work--ugh--hope you are mending well.
You are both fun, genuine and amazingly talented and not afraid of hard work. Love to see your story unfold. Can’t believe what you have accomplished in such a short time, mid pandemic.
As ever, so stylish you guys! Another lovely space in the chateau. Hope you’re back to your natural gorgeousness soon Anna. Phillip you;re the master of understatement. You’re both innate influencers.
The right amount of talent and humour makes for an interesting vlog, and both of you have this in spades. I enjoyed this very much. Hope you no longer look like a chipmunk Anna. Philipp, you are a very handsome influencer! I look forward to next week.
I vote for the hidden door. Every Chateau needs one. Also just want to say what a joy it is to watch such a lovely and talented couple work together and their humour makes me smile 😃
"Cause you have to be careful as something could happen to your house, or worse your family, and that would be horrible; especially if you liked them." Lol that last bit😆
My husband & I have enjoyed your weekly videos since your first one, & we hope you both continue doing them for a long time!! In this crazy world of ours, very rarely do we get a chance to laugh out loud like we do with yours!!! Thank you for that, & sharing your lives with all of us!! You are indeed a beautiful family ❤
Hope Anna is feeling better after her dentistry work! The room looks fantastic! I wasn’t sure about the color as it was going on the walls, but in the end it really looks gorgeous. “The Influencer” and Lilly did a bang up job on the light fixture as well! Good job Lilly was available to give him a hand! 👍
The idea of having a hidden drinks cabinet with access from both sides is VERY useful. Especially when people need drinks for whatever reason. either in the laundry room (to relax, calm down), or in the living room? dining? To be merry ;)
I absolutely love the colour choice for the room. I would like the door to remain as a hidden one; after all it is part of the original features of the Chateau. 😊🇬🇧
Love the color schemes for your chateau. Very classy and clean unlike other chateaux that are so cluttered and have no design coherence! IMHO. Kudos to your project. You two make a great team.
The room looks so lovely, inspiring and peaceful! Well worth the hard work you've both put into it. Well done! I vote for the hidden door as well -- it would be charming and magical!
Love that there is stuff Philip is not supposed to touch! 😂 Thank you, you are both a delight to spend a little time with each week. It goes too quickly!
Sometimes the service entrances can be a bit much if a room already has several doors, multiple windows etc, but when it’s built so you can hide it that’s not a problem and a hidden door is always charming! One of the houses I grew up in had one that melted seamlessly into the oak shelving of the old library/smoking room. If closed it really looked like there was only one way in or out, I loved that as a child! Super sneaky. Great video, well done!
I hope a designer sends Anna something. You are both fabulous influencers for your generation. Anna, take a break and get some rest! You both need a break.
was thinking the same! you guys do a really nice job! the result is always beautiful and the videos are really fun to watch. Sometimes a little rest does go a long way :) Hope you can take some :)
Wonderful makeover, well done guys! Also Philipp, your humour is adorable and makes me laugh every time. The fact that you guys manage to mix up things, be it carpentry, rewiring a chandelier, gardening or a full makeover - this is some quality content and I personally ver much appreciate that mix.
Luis Trenker! I grew up with his movies in post war Germany! First in the Kino - movie theater and later on our first Fernseher - TV! How nice that the name has new relevance. In Alpenmode - alpine fashion. And also in cheese!
Such a lot of work on that chandelier. My goodness Philip, your perseverance paid off. With your electrical skills and Anna’s wonderful painting skills you are a great couple to have the Chateau....
Your videos are always highlights and make my day! Love your humour and the editing room is eye candy! Thanks so much for letting us participate, look and laugh.
I let this serve as inspiration, Anna and Philip . I've been avoiding so many home improvements in the same time that you have renovated a chateau. The office looks wonderful and the laundry room has a great refresh. So meticulous and it shows. You can put drinks anywhere but a hidden door is priceless. What a great jacket. Yes, you could set a trend.
It was so precious to see you working with your daughter. I spent many hours handing my dad the screw driver, or pliers or pulling wires. For me it wasn’t work, but time with my father. Wonderful memories.
I love watching your family as you continue to fix up your château. You daughters are adorable too. The laundry room is looking super. Great job on the painting Anna. Sense of humor is a must especially during lock down and in any Reno projects. Hugs to you both.❤️
Children always remember these moments fondly even after growing up. Involving them in projects makes them feel like they contributed to making the place more beautiful as well. Creating such memories is priceless!
This had me in stitches!!! Love the transformation of the editing room, Phillip's new haircut and stylish jacket, the trip for Anna's surgery, Lily's assistance, everything. You definitely picked the correct light fixture for the room, in my opinion, and I so enjoyed seeing you rewire it, Phillip. Wow, the timbered building near the chateau is gorgeous!! Is it a private home or a public building? Thanks for the wonderful content.
I haven’t even finished watching this, just paused as Philip re-wires the light fixture, because his delivery and neutral facial expressions are both so perfect, that simple things become so freaking funny. “… especially if you like them…”. “It will take forever, like 30 minutes.”
I would vote for Hidden door. Chateau must have a hidden door!!!
Agreed but with a hidden drinks cabinet. 🤣
Totally agree, hidden door!
Hidden door with a portable drinks bar.
I have to agree. Hidden doors and rooms are such a childhood adventure into Narnia. Love it.
Hidden door FOR SURE
Influencer, comedian, electrician, cameraman, builder, husband, father. Chapeau! 😊⚒🙌
...all around good guy👍🏻👍🏻🇺🇸...
Don't forget Celebrity.
And genius
...and nevertheless so humble.
"It will take forever, like half an hour or an hour." The man is a true comedian.
Influencer and King of Comedy!🤣
😅🤣Also “when you work with electrics you have to be careful, something could happen to your family which would be horrible especially if you like them” 😁
If you are still here in 10 years, I will be here too. Your videos make Sunday a little more enjoyable :)
Happy to hear that!
So true. I just discovered them. It's the best.
I laughed out loud when Philip was giving his disclaimer regarding electrical maintenance. After all you could hurt your family and that would be awful especially if you liked them 🤣
I laughed at that too. Oh my god he's so dry but so great is is humour x Sheena
@@sheenacook154 I SO love a dry sense of humor... so much like my father! I think I totally got that from him :)
“anna, as exciting as it is to watch you painting a white wall white...”
i LOVE your roasts
that was my favourite line in today's episode!
My new favorite quote "Never give up, unless you have something more important to do."
I vote to turn it back into a hidden 🚪! Also, my husband and I laughed out loud at the "especially if you happen to like them" comment. Love you guys!
me too, I have been widowed for 5 months now, which of course is during this ghastly covid virus and here in Canada we're back in another lockdown.
This is the first time I've not only laughed but laughed out loud.
God bless you Phillip.

I laughed too at that! Philip's humour reminds me of my dad's, some would be offended but I loved it.. 🤗❤️
It was hilarious 😂

How about both? With a hinged drinks unit.
My thought as well do both
Sexy is a man who cherishes his wife and shows it in ways like rewiring antique chandeliers for her.
As a child in the 70’s my parents renovated a Victorian property. I only got to see my Dad if I worked with him on projects. It made me a resourceful person with DIY skills and no fear of fixing things. A great upbringing for any child. Hope Anna feels better soon.
Sounds like a great childhood!
Philipp’s sense of humour just cracks me up! 😂

Oh, a secret door! What fun! Both of your girls, and you, too, will love showing everyone.
@@teresaoneill6440 It won't be secret for very long...
Sounds like a neat idea. Secret doors are fun.
You both are doing a great job! The yellow room looks great!
If you and Anna are still vlogging in 10 years, I'll still be watching.
Please leave the rainbow walls and hidden bars for other chateaus. Your style has freshness and elegance, and makes your place inviting, neat, and warm. Keep up the good work!
Couldn't agree more
My God, Anna!! You can even reupholster an entire sofa!!! Deep respect and admiration 🙏🏻
Loved the bit with Lily helping her father...she was quietly patient and fearless....just like her mama! Prayers for healing Anna!
"It is almost dry....there is just minimal traces of gold on the kitchen surface and my jumper" LOL!!!!
He need’s to do standup comedy. “Especially if you like them”, I laughed so hard I had tears in my eyes.
For the hidden door: my vote is to use as in the original concept. Who else gets to have a hidden door?!
Phillip is not only an influencer he is an electrician! Great looking room.
“It would be horrible, especially if you like them.” 🤣🤣🤣 You made me laugh Philipp!
Good job Lilly, your daddy would have had a very hard time fixing the light without your help, well done young lady.
A secret door and entrance into a whole other room is very cool to me. Put drinks in a cabinet in both rooms. No one else has secret doors! Wonderful vlog. Lovely girls and family.
Love the idea of a secret door.
Keep the door as a hidden door. So convenient too to get to the other side of the hall to the dining room.
That guy's sense of humor is so dry dust blows out of his mouth when he opens it. That's a compliment BTW.
I have an affection for the colour green. When we moved into our house I was told that I wasn't allowed to paint all the rooms in green. I settled on some soft buttery yellows and ever so slightly green greys in addition to the greens I manage to sneak in.

Phillips dead-pan comedy is excellent and his wife plays off of it naturally! Love the comedy!
I vote for hidden door. I love how the Chateau's and Castle's have them.
I am fairly new to this channel but i loooove Phillip's personality, i live for it. The dry wit and humor and sarcasm. "That's how you become an influencer"😂😂😂😂😂😂
Anna’s pain from watching Phillip use the sponge and the kitchen island is greater than the pain from going to the dentist.
That night she used his toothbrush to clean the bathroom.
What a great transformation! 10 years? You keep making them and I’ll keep watching!❤️
I think you should convert it back to to a hidden door to the dining room. Philip is HILARIOUS! The editing room looks great (I STILL would have gone with option #2)!!
Louis Trenker is a great brand! Suits you really well the jacket!
I vote for restoring the doorway. Does anyone else just burst out in laughter or snort their coffee when Philip delivers one of his quips? There's nothing better than someone who makes you laugh!
If you need the doorway: reuse it. If you don't need it, a shelf is always a good idea. From two sides - the bar idea is very good for this. Or books.
I vote to reinstate the hidden door to be accessed from both sides! Exciting stuff! 💕
That finished room is a dream. Small enough to showcase the chandelier. The gold yellow paint is so right on. A pleasure to see these messy rooms come to fruition.
