Video interview with Graham "Suggs" McPherson and Mike Barson from the British band Madness. Without Mike Barson they would never have been the same band. As Dave Robinson once said it was the Barson melodies that brought it all together.

I cant find the interview (or written info) whether Mike was classically trained in piano, composition or sth like that, if went to some music school... Or was he self taught?
@@vladimirblagojevic5937 , Mr. Barson isn’t classically trained or neither has he been to a stage school or anything else like,. He is self taught and can play a tune by ear. Such a very clever gentleman x
Always knew about Barso's ingenuity, yet had him down for quite a grumpy character for some time. Only later I understood I confused grumpyness with ambition. Ambition that kept the band going, tied it together. Madness would not be Madness without any of its members, and I love all of them. They're unimaginable without Suggs, also without Woody and the others. Anyway Barso's role in Madness cannot be overrated.

As far as I'm concerned Barso is a genius and can wear what he wants

Listening to Mike and Sugg's is wonderful. They've answered so many things I've been curious about, They were all kind of Banksey's in their own right and brought together through their creativity

Wow, this really captures the greatness and unintended humor of Mike without meaning to. The fact that he critiqued 1970's and modern graffiti like that, calling it unoriginal, and graffiti should be and elevated art, says where the engine and perfection of Madness comes from. Suggs is the personality and the glue, Lee is the fun, Woody is the rock steady, Bedders is the minder of the tune, Chris is the older steady mate, and Cathal is the Madness. But without Mike's nagging inner drive to make something from nothing, this never happens. Still amazing Mike and Lee are so close after all these years after all their fights.

I absolutely loved madness as a kid the first record I heard was my girl at mates house when I was 9 in ‘79 after that I bought all there albums,pic discs , but whats the T shirt about 😔
Madness were NEVER NF! They had some skinhead fans but they were from a multi-cultural, working class background. They played ska forgodsake!

Adam Ant was in the band "Bazooka Joe" before he formed "The Ants". The more you know. Peace.
And when the Sex Pistols played their first gig, they gate-crashed Bazzoka Joe. Small world.
There's a pub in Guildford called the King's Head which was notorious for letting people drink under age, we used to get away with it even though we were only 15 years old.
Chester's pub was the Cross Keys. You reputedly had to wear short trousers to get served in the seventies...

There's no evidence Boris handled it worse than anyone else would. Basically people don't know what to do
- countries with more immediate & stringent lockdown policies are experiencing second waves.
- measures to control the spread are mostly ineffective, or so damaging to the economy, people's mental health, and other health conditions that a considered attitude on the best way forward is needed, along with us all pulling together to get through this
- instead of which, opposition parties and so-called journalists have misrepresented this situation at every stage to attempt to score political points. Bringing down the tories and stopping Brexit are more important to some people than actually doing the right thing
