In 1984 I started writing on my pencil case " Be Mad Not Sad" and "Have Guts Be Nuts" I don't have a pencil case any more but I am still a Madness fan. And am likely to be until they put me in the ground. God bless the good ship Madness and all who sail in her - we truly are the chosen ones xxx
I was 16 in 1978 and this was the top band imo then and always has been,
I have there tunes banging out in my van even today.
There is a nutty skin who dances on the bridge at Camden lock and I have my window down and blast out one step beyond when I see him.
Top band guys fekin awesome.
❤️❤️
Hey madness, this is my memories as music as a child
Madness forever !! Greetings from Rovigo (Italy)
Seen them 3 times this last year and they still never fail to fill the venues and entertain the crowds, it's non stop skanking.
Nothing like where I was brought up, I was brought up on the same estate as Boy George, desolate, miles from anything interesting.
So awesome to see you guys, this video is brilliant, I wish it was longer
Loved you since the 80s. Saw you at York race track in 20...something. I was dancing with my eyes closed, tears streaming with joy. When I opened my eyes, everybody around was just the same! Love love love.
Brilliant video, Superb band.
As an American kid i would watch English bands on MTV in the early 80's and I enjoyed the footage of England / London as much as the music. I was always curious what it was like to live there and invisioned myself visiting, making friends and having a great time. I used to have a Madness pin on my jean jacket.
As a life long drummer in his 40's who still plays in a solid SOLID scene, with 25 and 30 year friends this gets me in the cockles.
If you are ever in Oshawa Ontario Canada?
Look us up
Un peu d'histoire d'un grand groupe dont la musique contribue depuis 1985 à mon bonheur musical. Merci beaucoup pour ce documentaire. Amitiés.
Was my favorite group growing up,great song after great song.fantastic band
Probably heard it so many times! over and over and from thousands of folk all up and down this country, but you guys were brilliant from the very get go and will never be forgotten. Just a huge thank you for creating music that has stood the test of time :)
Fantastic set at The Downs, Bristol over the weekend.
Golden years for music, glad I grew up then and not ****ing now !
Same 100%
Madness,Madness , they call it Madness 🎶
Good bunch of lads reminiscing 😁🎶.
Everything turns full circle doesn't it.
Remember listening to me dad and his mates going on about the good old days , and now we're doing it lol
Great video lads. Wow, lots of tourists there now. Back in the 80’s my school mate wouldn’t stop talking about Madness. I told him he was mad and he replied ”ness” - classic.
Brilliant lads, cheers for signing my album and fez up at Montrose,,, great to see you lads enjoying yourselfs, all the best
I desperately want to see Madness live! I am 54 and have adored them since the early 80's. Trying to find a way to get to England :( totally love Woody and Lee!

@Compliment Thief always big enough for the lovely suggs xxx
Once a rude boy, always a rude boy. Got a Specials T shirt on today aged 59. Great vid. Madness rule, Bed and Breakfast man!
Absolute legends.
Wish I had the $ to fly over and see one of those gigs. I saw them for the 1st time in '81 I think, at UCLA. Great fun. They had Paul Carrack playing keys with them and he played a solo version of "Tempted". Great days for music. Peace.
Great guys....best band, ever. My old boss Keith use to cut Sugg's hair & I was very fortunate enough to receive a signed album. xx
Hey guys love Camden and Madness fab GIG in Bristol at The Downs, thanks for the towel Suggs see the pic x

@Compliment Thief Someone's jealous
My favourite band since being a teenager in the 80's, have "One Step Beyond" as my ringtone. "Walking with Mr Wheeze" is my favourite instrumental of any out there, can listen to it on repeat for ages!
Ello what's the name of the song playing throughout please?
@@jacl099175 The song at the start is "They call it Madness" th-cam.com/video/-HK0VQvJAmY/w-d-xo.html
Could be wrong but I think the song throughout is just a soundbite made for the video as I've never heard it before in relation to a Madness track.
I love these videos, from the stars back in the 70s and 80s, and still are. But these guys day is fading, really hence the reasons I enjoy them.
Thanks guys. Thank you for sharing your story, believe it or not, it is important. Thank you.
Loved them then still love them now, come back Carl
Used to get my Bovver Boots from Holts in the early 80's.
I remember when ballroom used to operate as a market in the daytime at weekend. Love the reference to burglar greese which was basically just swarfega
Brilliant, I went to see Suggs one man show here in my home town of Aberystwyth, awesome night. Always been a fan and follower of Madness. Top Dollar film boys 😎
Even in the 90’s some of these shops were still hanging on .
great memories as a kid. when madness came on at the school disco thats when the dudes got up to dance - bless you guys for being there where we needed you and making my childhood bearable and fun... funny how walking through Camden and most folk don't realise they are in the presence of legends...
Fantastic..been to Camden once in 2017. Now Madness needs to come to Ottawa Canada 🇨🇦
These guys played my pop's club in Montreal in the early 80's. I wonder if they remember this? Sure it seems like yesterday...
