As far as I'm concerned Motorhead is The best band of all times. I've heard it all. I'm '73. You got to understand that I absolutely love Pink Floyd, Hendrix and all of them. I'm the singer in a fucking Death metal band from Serbia and we know that all of that came from that one band. They (Lemmy) had (singlehandedly) invented Punk, Trash Metal and all of humanity's loud music. Eternally grateful. And still preserving the soul of R'nR in its full potential. He has always said that Motorhead was Rock band. Not Metal or anything. And His favourite band of all times was The Beatles. I could not connect with them, but I like 'em and they do have some great songs. What I'm trying to say is that you have to put all of that Legends in their own time. The Beatles had invented Pop-Rock, Progressive Rock and even Hard Rock with Hellter Skallter. For me, i like Motorhead.
I know you'll hate me, but my favourite album is Another Perfect Day. I know we all hate that guy, but songs were so good. I still think think they could have made some great stuff. I just love Thin Lizzy, Metallica, and some other stuff like Gojira and so on.
I was raised on Black sabbath, deep purple back in 1973 when i was 12 years old then 1978 came around I dived head first boots and all into UK punk rock sex pistols, the damned, in 1980 the exploited, GBH among other bands it's around this time I first heard motorhead and have never looked back I saw them play live early 1984, the 70's 80's 90's were the best years for Rock in Roll, getting high while living your life at breakneck speed. They were Motorhead and they played Rock n Roll.
1916 is a VERY heavy song. I used it to introduce a unit on WW1 to a grade 10 history class, telling them it was based on stories Lem's Grandpa had told him. I gave them lyrics to read along as it played. Hit most of them really hard. That would be a good closing song here.
My total respect to you as a history teacher for teaching this generation about history period. So many want to bury what we were always taught back in the day. Using that classic from Motorhead is a perfect plus 🤘. Only wish you were my teacher 30 years ago.

There's some real good tracks on here and well done indeed for not including any of the "classics" because as good as they are, they're certainly not the heaviest Motörhead tracks. Personally I would have included Over The Top too but that's just down to taste - not at all marking you down for a brilliant selection 👍👍👍

And Im amazed of how they went more hardcore with every new album as Lemmy got older, while most bands usually do the opposite and go more commercial with time.

It’s like he put all he had into those songs. Amazing. And the artwork on Aftershock is my favorite out of all their albums. Cheers!🤘🏼
