Sounds like my dad, got a new truck every year, had the 5.4 in 2010, got rid of it when started making lifter noises, had the 5.0 loved it but didn’t pull enough for the gas mileage. Had the 2.7 TT and it was wicked quick. Almost got a 3.5 hybrid but it was like you said 10 k over msrp. The 2020 2.7 is sitting at 47 k miles and we have had so many issues. First the keyless entry keypad broke off going down the freeway, Next the reverse breaking sensors never worked, it will randomly beep and slam on the breaks like your about to hit something, took it to the dealership about 4 times to have it fixed but it never worked, the windshield wiper arm broke off the motor, which was a recall but our truck was not part of it. We had to pay $180 for the fix until my dad threw an absolute fit and ford payed for the repair. Now at a year old it needs a new tie rod, this would not be suprising at 50 k miles if we beat on it, my dad does not beat on his trucks though. After all of this said we are definitely looking at different brands, as sad as it is I feel American product quality is starting to slip.
That shell station be ripping people off there in Alabama, I can get E85 here in Oklahoma for $1.44 at Casey's and I don't care too much for shell stations anywhere because they are usually always higher in price!

When E-85 became a big thing, they said the price needed to be about at least 70% of what the regular 87 price was for it to make financial sense. E-85 burns about 30% more (generally) on a given tank than regular unleaded.
I have never ran the aluminum ford 5.0. But I had a buddy with a 5.0 in the body style before this an I could run away hide from him in my 09 4th gen hemi with 20x10 an 33s. He was stock wheels both had exhaust. I have ran a aluminum ford ecoboost that had a tuner with custom tunes an some down pipes an he could walk away from me like I was setting still
Have 21 f150. 19000 miles. Been running e85 since new. Most I paid for e83 was 2.85/ gallon last was 1.93/ gallon. Getting around 14.5 miles per gallon. Only thing is after 15000 miles I was getting a knock,bang sound like ratchet in engine at morning start. Only time was morning start. I finally tried running a tank of 15% ethanol and bingo bang,knock at morning start quit.
Ever try manual shifting it and do you stomp on it on D or 3 I’m a Chevy guy and the bros say don’t send it in D but in 3 if you don’t want to hurt the trans
My 2019 F-150 Roush, with a leveling kit, 33’s and an Oz Omega X tune, just smoked a Hemi Charger the other day on the highway. I love it when those “fast” cars think they can outrun me, only to be highly disappointed. You’ll be highly impressed when you get your tune installed and have a tankful of E85, although I usually just do a 50/50 mix of 93 and E85 since that’s what Ken Osborne recommends with the Omega X tune.
Not many places with E85 in my part of Georgia either. The places that do have it usually sell it for about 20 cents cheaper per gallon. While technically a personal best, 0.07 second faster 0-60 is definitely not going to be noticeable as you said. The factory tune is clearly not optimized for E85, so the performance gains from simply switching fuels is not worth it, since we're talking about a 15-20% reduction in fuel economy in your case since ethanol has a lower energy density than gasoline. I'd imagine an E85 tune would help mitigate this drawback, but won't eliminate it. Not sure if the tune would increase the performance enough to make E85 worth it, but it will be interested to see.
What's your slope read on your dragy time slips? Best run in my 20 5.0 supercrew 4x4 is 5.89s 0-60 14.06s 1/4 @ 100.21mph. -0.02 slope, -1109ft DA. Only mod is catback. Stock 20s.
How would you compare the F150 you currently have to the Silverado/ Sierra you have had in the past? Which do you think has better build quality, and which do you think will keep going the longest with basic maintenance? Currently have a 22 Silverado LTZ with the 6.2, and i love it, but im always looking and came across a super deal on a f150 with the ecoboost so it has me considering. Just wanted your opinion considering you've owned both. Thanks
What do you get to 60 and 1/4 mile ? I just got a 22 Platinum Black appearance package, Fully loaded , 5.0 v8 3.73 gears 4x4. All stock except it has 34s Nitto Ridge Grapplers. I just ran a 6 seconds flat 0-60 And 14.17 1/4 mile. This was on 87 octane, I will try agian with 93 octane. Results Based on Dragy
E85 roughly uses 30 percent more fuel depending on setup... it used to be worth it, but they gouge you on that too now... if you're going to the track or racing, definitely e85!
Over here where I live its 1.99 for e85. I used it throughout the last year or so because it was 2.50 meanwhile regular gas was 3.30+. My only problem with it is that my truck would long crank when I used it. Like the combustion was weak. Most likely the gas was stale idk.

E-85 is running about 1.79 where I'm at I run it in my f150 5.0

Went with the Oz omega tune for my 16 5.0. Running it on e85 and it was 100% worth it. Really brought back the power loss from the 35s

have you looked into the oz tuning omega tune for the 5.0s? i love it
E-85 is $1.79/gallon here in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. You will also notice it is harder to start in really cold weather
I know when it's cold I use 93 and e85 mix and cold starts go away
E85 in kentucky is around $2.40. 87 is 2.59

When temps get cooler e85 sucks to run on. Doesn’t burn as clean.
I run e-85 everyday up here in northern Nebraska! 1.59 a gallon still get 15 mpg
