Crazy how time flies. I've been watching Baumi since Highschool and now I'm halfway going to 30s.

God, I miss this map... Dota 2 has changed so much over the years, but I still recognize that map. Feels like going home after a decade out...

It took me about 10 years but I’m finally seeing Baumi play normal dota 2 😂 (stopped playing end of golden age)
I'm sure at that point ultimate upgrade level was 6/11/16 not 6/12/18 like now
and there are few things there that made this more like modern dota
like 7 seconds glyph with tower multishot, back then it was only 5 seconds with avatar animation
OD could attack Roshan with Arcane orb
Rubick's Adaptive strike passed the bkb somehow
and the useless heart that just gives hp
so didn't give me the feeling of 6.84 specially because how much money everyone had

This is correct, just popped open 6.84. I wonder if these things are hard coded, but there are such extreme workshop mods that I imagine this isn't the case.
If this were truly classic dota, the heroes would only level to 10, at which point they would put a single point in their ultimates, and items would all be either auras, orbs, consumables, or stat sticks

Version 6.82 was my first time playing Dota 2, and it was quite the experience because it traumatized me.
I understand you... I just hope you didn't get traumatized by some random Techies and those filthy land mines that could be stacked on top of each other and randomly killing unsuspecting enemies going through those narrow corridors...

I don't understand why 6.84 is considered to be "classic." It's the last really enjoyable version for me too, but you'd think that something derrived of 6.66 WCIII would be the standard, so like 6.78 or something would be more in the vein of "classic." I think that the issue is that, in DotA 2, all heroes were not implemented till after 6.8x so as a result a lot of people who got in with Source DotA 2 consider it to be the "complete" game.
Not sure how the perception is that 7.x+ could be the golden era due to variety. If you compare it to a lot of Source 1, you’d have different combos of dual lanes and trilanes(IE a Lich pick could result in dual sides, whereas defensive tri vs solo off was default). Offensive tri vs defensive tri, offensive tri vs solo safe, tri vs duo, the combos were endless. You’d even see solo vs duo in mid if there was an effort to do melee + wisp in the mid lane(Riki was known for this combo briefly. The game was more about farming + pushing, but kills and pressure stop the opponent from farming.
The gold is completely messed up in every version since 6.82. Valve does this thing with the economy in all of their game where it just becomes a shitfest. 6.84 was playable, but doesn’t compare to the normal DotA that came before(except pushfest meta of pre TI4/TI4 event, that sucked).
6.83 is when I started.
This hits a weird place for me. I actually didn't play this version of Dota. I played basically on release of Dota 2 (I was a hon flunkee) until like ti 5 or something, then stopped playing when life started life-ing. Picked it back up again a while after talents (dawnbreaker had either not been released yet or was just released). But the newest map completely killed it for me. I don't know why. I'm not such a boomer that I wish we could go back to this, but I don't like the new map and haven't played Dota since. It's hard to watch baumi, which hurts because it's entirely a me thing and I feel like ive lost something I've had for like 15 years. I watched baumi during his HoN trivia video days.
There's a version of 6.84 still available. You will be playing on foreign servers at very high ping though.
I think you would have played this patch if you played up to TI5, which was on 6.84c.
I dunno man, the game changed not you. It's not a you problem if something you enjoyed changed for the worse and you don't like it anymore.
Just imagine if valve would add one, or mb several old patches in official que, mb as a rotation, at least on anniversary or smt

What version is it that Bloodstone got charges and per charge increases HP and MP regen.
Almost all versions of old engine DotA 2 gave increased mana regen per charge. You may be misremembering the HP regen. It gave 9 HP regeneration naturally, and if you died, it'd give your teammates a bunch of HP(always), as well as truesight within a radius(if you lost the right number of charges before the death). It'd also reduce the death penalties in terms of gold and time, resulting in instant respawn at a certain threshold depending on the version.
@@Reaching8 im not sure if its low version of Dota2 or just the good old Dota, Because i remember playing with bots and getting insane HP regen too and just fountain farming them with those stacks

I believe that DotA 2 started in 6.70 ish when we heard rumblings of the gameplay, and was on 6.72d by TI1
