      No, she really shouldn't. if she comes back they will DESTROY her happily ever after she got in private practice. That's what they do. she can come back now and then. But now Addison has Henry and Jake and her happy, happy life by the sea. Let her be.

    Because it's simply not that simple. In a perfect world it would be but adoption isn't as simple as people make it out to be. Kids end up in the foster system getting beat and taking advantage in shitty foster homes more than they do good ones

    The more I think about it the less sense it makes that in all of the United States Addison is apparently the only person qualified or willing to do the work she does. They are saying there's literally no one else that she knows that can take over for her for a bit? I mean I know it's a tv show but that's incredibly far fetched

    • @rossy9095
      @rossy9095 ปีที่แล้ว +50

      I think it’s more she has the name and is widely recognised. She doesn’t just do the work, she inspires others to do as well. And that’s why she can’t take a break. Cause if she did there may be a perception that the other side won and could dim the light of others, ultimately making her fight that much harder when she gets back to it.
      Maybe I’m reaching. Or maybe I need to accept this is a tv show 🤣

      It's the same thing everytime, like how apparently Derek was the only surgeon that could perform highly complicated brain or spine surgery, and how Cristina, Teddy or Maggie were the ones able to perform complicated heart surgeries..
      This show is depicting a world where only the people in this hospital can help.

      She not the only one. That’s not what they are saying. It’s a big country with lots of people a very few doctors with a specialty in fetal care and because of the new laws even less people are willing to do this type of work so that’s why Addison can’t stop.

    • @junbh2
      @junbh2 ปีที่แล้ว +17

      Maybe the point is that all the people who could be replacing her are also already doing all they can and overworked as well. That there just aren't enough people for all the help that is needed, so one person taking a break affects everyone else who is already overwhelmed and now has to do her work on top of their own work.

      I seriously cannot stand when people say that. if you don't want to watch the show nobody's forcing you to watch the show change the channel. Everybody's can have their own opinion but just like any other job would you like somebody not to like your show anymore or whatever you do for a living and then decide that you should get canceled. I know the answer is hell no I personally love Gray's Anatomy and love the fact that it keeps going and keeps up with current events. And actually lets there people have life's. So change the channel and stop being so damn negative all the time the show's not garbage because you don't like the show no more. Change the channel and for the rest of us I can't wait till season 20 where they going to go now. And also give credit where credit is due they beat out ER for the longest running medical show. And where do you see a cast that continues to representing everybody and It has from season 1 revolved and I'm ready for the next twisters and turns.

    Addison I respect the hell the hell out of you but at some point your health has to come before the people you're helping. You're not going to be any good to anybody overtired and with one arm. It's time to take a break. The fact that she's so reluctant to take a break at this point after being hit by a car and having to have her shoulder popped back in isn't giving me good vibes it's honestly starting to seem like she's looking for reasons not to go back home

      Umm you mean you hate the way the USA is going then? This is literally the state of the country right now. People are dying because they can’t get the care they need because some idiots who don’t understand how the body or health in general works decided to ban a medical procedure.

  • @somitabucklew8647

    I don’t agree with abortions but what this driver did is not justifiable. If you don’t like abortions bc it kills babies than why hurt another humans.
    And I love Addison and how she loves kids. My only issue with Addison view is it’s that some babies are worth saving because their parents want them and others that their parents don’t want ….get mutilated in an abortion. I’m talking about medical abortions specifically. 😢
    Why can’t there be clinics who provide all the things Addison talked about but just not abortions? Instead linked to adoption services and social work resources that help people (like me who didn’t want a baby bc I couldn’t handle it and regret it ever since) have the resources they need to take care of their child or give them to a loving family who will take care of them (which is what happened to my husband). What if we put our time and effort not into legalizing abortion but creating alternatives so the baby and mother could thrive, even if it means finding the child a new loving home?

    • @amandaelfar7541
      @amandaelfar7541 ปีที่แล้ว +47

      because women shouldn't have to go through 9 months of pregnancy if they don't want to and they shouldn't go through labor and giving birth against their will because u are anti abortion. because adoption and social services do not make up for the physical and mental toll pregnancy, giving birth and giving up ur baby a woman goes through. also because a woman's life, mental health and well being is more important than a fetus that has not been born and cannot live outside the womb yet.

    • @noashom
      @noashom ปีที่แล้ว +32

      Because if someone doesn't want to be pregnant and have a child, she shouldn't be forced into it, it's her body, her life and her choice.
      Going through 9 months of pregnancy and giving a baby to adoption is not an easy process, and you can't force someone to do it. Even if a baby is put to adoption, no matter what, that woman will always know that a biological child of hers is somewhere out there.
      Plus, there are already way too many children in the world that don't have families, that were abandoned/unwanted and are waiting for love, for family. Why bring into this world more?
      If you are pro life, I think you should think about how to help these kids that already exist, and not about a group of cells inside a woman's womb, that didn't develop into a living thing yet.

    • @Heida77
      @Heida77 ปีที่แล้ว

      That's why we have pregnancy resource centers, to offer women an alternative to abortion. The irony is, today there is much more violence and harassment towards those and pro-life work in general than what is depicted here. But Grey's only shows one side as usual and that is that all pro-life people are hypocrites and horrible people.

    • @westway323
      @westway323 ปีที่แล้ว +18

      You talk about creating resources to help the baby and the mother, but you fail to recognize the long term effect that an unwanted pregnancy can have on both.A mother's body goes through changes as is throughout the 9 months of pregnancy, and then go through immense labor to bring that child into this world. And that's if the mother wants the child. But if you force a mother to give birth, not only will she grow to hate and resent herself and the child, the psychological effect of that hate could cause the mother to spiral in 100 different directions. And say the mom does go through with the pregnancy and gives birth only to give the child away, that child will grow up wanting to know why the birth mother gave the child away. That child will have questions and will have negative opinions about him/herself because of what the birth mom chose to do, irrespective of how the foster family treats them. That'll cause the child to spiral too. By forcing the mom to go through with an unwanted pregnancy by banning abortions, you are not only causing trauma to the mom, but you are creating trauma for those next generations who are born as a result of an unwanted pregnancy.

    • @jlee6652
      @jlee6652 ปีที่แล้ว +15

      Not everyone who has an abortion wants to have one, sometimes the fetus has complications. Or the mother is neither physically or mentally well enough to carry a baby to term. My baby died 8 days after birth, we knew from 20 weeks she had a genetic condition. I continued the pregnancy and gave her the best chance, but this wouldn't be a decision everyone was in a position to make. I had access to good medical care and a supportive partner. I don't judge anyone who chooses to terminate
