    Loved how ashish showed all old shops and eateries of calcutta . He being a marwadi showing all famous bengali food joints shows how proud he is of kolkata city . Marwadis of kolkata are truly calcuttan .

      Its because also the very society where he lives also serve him very well. Otherwise how come a street Liti seller can send all his 4 kids to school and College and can be proud for their success ? It's because School and University education is free for everyone in West Bengal, the only state in India that has completely free very high quality public school and higher education system just like France and Germany and is accessible for everyone. This is the beauty of the free public education.

    • @honeysup

      @@tripcreator87 Do you know the real reason ? It's because School and University education is free for everyone in West Bengal, the only state in India that has completley free very high quality public school and higher education system just like France and Germany and is accessible for everyone. Thats why even a street Liti seller can send all his 4 kids to school and college and can be proud for their success. This is the beauty of the free public education.

      @@honeysup Get your fact correct. Universities is not free in West Bengal. Every government schools in this country has free education, WB is not the only state. The waiver is limited to the tuition fee for all the institutions concerned. All other fees except tuition fees will have to be borne by the beneficiary.

    • @honeysup
      @honeysup 11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@tripcreator87(2) No, sorry then you don't know anything education system in West Bengal !!! the "total fees" (ie total cost including everything) of University/Colleges in West Bengal is ~ Rs 2500/year - 4500/year (varies depends on College) and that amount even you don't have to pay you can't afford it. And that is valid until end of the University (i,e Masters). So it's basically free just like France & Germany. There is NO Private University or College in West Bengal, ALL i,e 100% of University/colleges in West Bengal are Public i,e Govt University. (only exception few Engineering colleges).
      (2) No other state in India other than West Bengal has such free 100% Govt Higher education. Higher education in other state is predominantly driven by Private University/Colleges and thereby are not free and rather pretty expensive while Govt colleges are every few in number. Regarding School education: 98% of School in West Bengal is Govt school and free, only 2% is private (ie fees paying). All other states in India very few % of school are are run by Govt (for example in states like Karnatak, TN only 35-45% students study in Govt School (which are free) and rest of in fee paying private as there is not enough Govt School, and their quality is pretty poor that most people don't use that (see Delhi, the most vivid example). Thereby in other state, even in School education parents pays huge fees to educate their child. While in Bengal 98% of its school are Govt school, which are free, and of very high quality and thereby people use them. This example of the litti seller is not an exception rather it's a norm in Bengal, you don't have to be rich to get very high quality education in Bengal, it's accessible for everyone and its completely free for everyone. And thats why even this street Liiti seller knows how amazing and important is that education system, that's why he mentioned about his children's school and college education proudly.

    Mr Karnani and Mr Aggarwal showed a very vital part of Bengali food culture today, especially popular in Kolkata, that is the snacks and jol khabar. Truly these gentlemen are pure Calcuttans and Bengal won't be the same without these communities that may have come from Gujarat and Rajasthan, but settled in Calcutta for generations.

In Calcutta you are expected to encounter a melting pot with influences of European cuisine, arts, religion, culture, music and way of life with desi twist sometimes. Good to see our non bengali friends exploring the city.. Lastly thanks to your mention of Chorbagan Chatterjee barir misti doi during puja....a cut above. Looking forward to meet you next time.

    So touched, happy, and proud about how well karnaniji and aggarwalji hosted anubhavji, sharing authentic information about the history and culture of Bengal. A lot of Bengalis don’t even know about some of these places. So many of us have left the city, but the Marwari community has stayed on, assimilating Bengali culture while maintaining their own individuality, upholding and sharing the traditions of Calcutta, primarily food, love, and warmth. So happy to see this, overjoyed actually❤️

There are specially two shops one is known by Ramakrishna and the other one is Laxmi narayan. Please go to those shops and your whole concept of misti doi will be changed. That variety which you considered to be the best doi , you will get more of those kinds or probably better variety there. Thank you.

When the people of other states try to stoop Bengal, we Bengalees have pity for those that they have no idea about Kolkata and overall West Bengal. Kolkata is not only a place for different types of delicious food in cheap rate but also a very rich in culture and heritage.
