Interestingly, I too have a Pajero with AT51's, I have found in my experience that they've performed very well and as you've described. Recently had a trip to the snow where they worked a treat. No issues with traction on icy wet and snowy roads. Quiet and grippy on road, and have been given a work out on the dirt also. Am a fan.
I've had these on my Toyota Tundra. I run LT tires at 65 psi. I have 2000 lb payload in the bed at all times and yes airbags on the rear springs to keep level. I also tow a Travel trailer at 25 ft and 7 k lbs on road trips, a dump trailer at 10 k lbs and equipment trailer at 10k lbs on local short trips. I have done snow in local mountains past 2 winters. I have had no flats and no issues. Traction has been solid. I am buying a second set as the 30 thousand miles on these is getting to be too much for snow and heavy rain, better safe than sorry. I can say for my well loaded Tundra these have performed very well. I run e rated and not p rated. These are 80 psi max in LT.
Our pleasure. We have had many different brands and types of tyres on our Pajero over the last 15 years and I can honestly say that these AT51’s are the best we’ve had in terms of grip, performance, off road capability (for what we do) and value for money.
Great review !!! I love them ! I have them for a year now on a daily drive 2wd chevy astro here in eastern Canada and they perform super good in all conditions.
My company bought these because we couldn't get our regular tyres. I was skeptical at first but seeing this am very happy for the reviews here. We're putting these on a nissan np300 4x4 truck. I hope they serve me well.
Just put these on my 2010 Dakota 4 door 4x4 and they do very well. Live in southern Ohio and spend alot of time on the highway for work and also on the farm. Do alot of hunting and fishing and these tires perform very well in the mud and rain. Last week was back on the back side of our farm and it was pretty muddy but I had zero problems with these in 4 high. Ate up all the mud I went through. Very impressed, my dad is putting a set on his 2020 f150 king ranch this Friday
Thanks for the review! And glad to see the Pajero is still going strong. A mate of mine just bought a 2004 NP GLX after I convinced him it was the best choice for under $9k.
Looking up reviews for these tires. It's on sale for 105usd which is cheap for a fairly branded at tires. Just picked some offroad wheels. Definitely getting these for my 01 forester. Thanks for your review.
I just purchased my second set of these tires for my Ford F250, I live in North Western Wyoming and require the snowflake ❄ for ice and winter driving conditions as well as plenty of dirt and rock 2 tracks! Highly recommended 10 ply truck tires!
Straight up good tires? I live in southwest Az. lots of sand I have General Grabber now and soon need new tires these (kumho tires) fit my budget. I haven't found a tire yet other than my Generals that I'd buy again but they are alot more $ now. you're already on your second set of kumos what do you say to mileage would be for tread life?
I'm running theses on my hilux and find them very good as you mention. They are starting to get a little slippery now in the wet.I'll buy again when worn.
Grazie ! Mi hai tolto ogni dubbio . Non sapevo cosa montare sul mio lj70 dell 88 . Facendo più autostrada che off ma senza rinunciare all estetica gli mt51 saranno parte integrante della mia inseparabile Toy
Mel Powell Definitely a great tire! Ive had them on my 94 toyota pickup 4wd for just over a year now. 31x10.50R15. Had them in gummy mud, sand, sharp rocks, pretty much everything you’d drive over off road and they have been amazing. I was very surprised with wet traction and it feels like they are glued to the road and really resist hydroplaning. Road noise is there just like any other aggressive all terrain but I don’t notice it u less I try to hear it. My size has the 3 peak mountain snow flake as well but I have studded snow tires I put on in the winter so I can’t say much about snow and ice performance. Ive put about 10,000 km on them and haven’t noticed much difference in tread depth. When I need to buy tires again Im definitely getting these
When you’re on a good thing, stick to it. It’s now got 340,000kms on the clock and still going strong. Unfortunately it’s worth very little as a trade in and whilst it’s still going we are going to keep it. 500,000kms, here we come!
@@OnTheDirt Any updates on the NP Pajero? Would love a long term review! I just got a NM Pajero 3.5 and working through the preventative maintenance to keep it for hopefully as long as you! Thanks for the videos :)
Glad to see the pajero running strong after so many years with ya'll. What are your thoughts on BF Goodrich? Running KO2s on my Ranger Raptor. And how long do you plan on keeping your pajero?
Yep, the Pajero is sitting on 340,000 kms and still going strong. My friend has just put the BF Goodrich tyres on his car and they were a lot more expensive than the Kumho's. From all of the reports we've seen, the BF Goodrich are also a good choice, but come at a cost. As far as how long we plan on keeping the Pajero... let's just say I'm keen to see it hit 500,000kms! I could buy something new, but the Paj has served us so well and as a trade it's worth very little, so we'll just keep it.
Just got a set for my jeep wj. It had fuel economy tires cuz it was from Texas. I'm in the U.P. of Michigan and can barely drive in the snow at all. I hope the at51 is much better.
@@stevemcgee99 I'm in Central Illinois and have a set on my '97 Explorer 4x4. I love these tires in all the weather conditions here. Even in snow I mostly drive in 2WD and they have always inspired confidence.

Great Video! For your Pajero.....have you replaced the injectors or done any service/overhaul? Your Pajero is so iconic and still looks good today after so many years!! Sad to see MM have discounted the Pajero.
Apart from regular servicing, it hasn't had any major overhaul. It is starting to show its age with almost 400k on the clock. I suspect it does need an injector clean and also needs to have the intake system cleaned due to the EGR build up. We were going to replace it recently, but have decided to keep it until we reach half a million km's.
Kim Capone - there are plenty of reviews of the AT51. What is your basis for stating they are bad? Do you have these tyres on your car? Have you ever used them or tested them? We’d love to hear from genuine users who have had experience on the AT51’s, but your claims that nobody has them or wants them is simply incorrect.
Thanks for your well thought out opinion on these tyres. Have you ever used them? Probably not. We have found them exceptionally good in all conditions and perfectly suited to the general off-roading most people do. We’d love your thoughts on a comparison with the Grabber ATX if you have had both.
