Currently running these in 315/75x16 on a Defender. The only tyre that I have experience with that outgrip the Kumhos are Nitto Mud Grapplers. However, Nittos are wildly noisy and nowhere near as civilised on bitumen. The Kumho is really civilised onroad, with no vices- and quiet. Behaviour is entirely predictable and any loss of traction at the limit is progressive. Very thick sidewalls are a double-edged sword. Hard to damage but need a lot of air removed to get them to bag. No chipping or tears to date. Highly impressed.
That's great feedback mate! Go the Defender 💪 If you're keen, make sure you leave a review for them on www.tyrereview.com.au, as then it'll be in the database to inform others forever more, plus you'll go in the running to win a fuel card 🤘
@@patrickbass3118 Entirely predictable in the wet and the siping assists with wet asphalt grip. Ultimately, snow grip depends on the ability of the tyre to hold onto snow, not expel it. Rally tyres utilise this principle. It provides the best traction because snow bites best on snow. Having said that the Kumhos are good in snow and when it's deep, the sidebiters do their thing.
The brown colouring on the tyres is iron partials from break rotors. An iron decon spray will dissolve the iron particles and return the tyre to the original black colour. Don't use a petroleum based tyre shine as it can also turn tyres brown.
Hey mate, that's really interesting! I'm keen to try this on some tyres I have here that are doing the same thing. Will video it for posterity. Thanks!

Would have been good to get some reasons for the 8 out of 10 overall and 6 out of 10 on road? He didn’t really give any negative comments at all. Thought they would have been higher scores.

Great comment. I'm thinking about getting these for my truck. How are they in the rain? Any idea how they deal with snow?
Cheers!

8 out of 10 was for off road and hes never seen a 10 out of 10 . are you dyslexic?
I’m also in Tasmania and I’m in the market for new tyres, lol.
