    Have been using a very similar tyre, Hankook Dynapro AT2 in the 225/
    70 16 size for a while now. A noticeably quiet and soft ride even at 50psi. Low wear of 1mm per 10000 km with a lot of gravel and rocky tracks. 2 tread punctures, nail and sharp rock,easily plugged, but no sidewall damage yet. They are excellent in sand, not needing lower pressure than 25 psi to get thru some really soft stuff. Had to slightly reshape the spare well plastic with a heat gun to make it easier to fit in out on the road. Otherwise no clearance issues, tho a 25mm lift has helped. Also quite a cheap tyre at about $220 each. We also carry 2 spares when out bush as cheap insurance. Would try 235s next time, but probably not much to be gained by a few mm more width and diameter.

      Thanks Sue. Yes the Hankooks are also a great tyre. Nothing like real life experience to test them. Appreciate the feedback and info as usual. Safe travels. Cheers. Alex

    Ah this was the only Kumho tyre I couldn't get on with. Off roaf they were great, but the 10ply rating was horrific on road and down right dangerous in the wet or towing. I switched to Nexan which suited my needs better.

    I will buy a set of at52 p265/75/16 next week, the shop is asking "680$ installed" for my Toyota 90 series here in Venezuela; hope they last at least 70K km on road (:

      Greetings from OZ Jan. I think you will
      Be right if you check your tyres
      Pressures regularly and of course
      Rotate and get them balanced. Keep us posted as we are keen to hear your story

    Nice review! Does it matter if the pattern on the wheels/ sidewall face a different direction on the driver compared to the passenger side? Thanks.

    The California I booked has arrived, but the seller gave me a choice. One is a high-configuration two-wheel drive and a low-configuration four-wheel drive. The price difference is not big. Which one should I choose?

    Did you ever lift the car by the Seikel rocksliders for repairs/tyre change/recovery? I can't find any info if they are rated for that so any experience would be appreciated 👍

    • @4motionadventures934
      @4motionadventures934  ปีที่แล้ว

      Johannes. Yes we have a Seikel suspension upgrade that has been engineered by Trakka at manufacturing stage. The tyres we have meet both the speed and load rating. It’s best to get professional advice from your tyre fitter. Hope this helps. Have a good one. Cheers. Alex.

      Would definitely use the std jack mount points on the transporter. Very risky to rely on anywhere else, no matter how much you paid for it.

    I have never been able to buy the T6.1california beach four-wheel drive version of the new car. Can the two-wheel drive model be a choice? Or continue to wait?

    • @4motionadventures934
      @4motionadventures934  ปีที่แล้ว

      I am now driving a Mercedes-Benz gle. This suv has a four-wheel drive function, but I have never dared to drive to the beach. Will the four-wheel drive function of California be stronger than that of the gle?

    • @4motionadventures934
      @4motionadventures934  ปีที่แล้ว

      Charley. I can’t speak to the gle as I have never driven it off road and am not familiar with it. Maybe one day if I have some spare cash I will buy one and take it through it’s paces or if Mercedes ever want to give me a media car I will soon find out what it’s about.

    • @4motionadventures934
      @4motionadventures934  ปีที่แล้ว

      Here is some info from the web. Kumho Tires runs three manufacturing facilities in South Korea: the Pyeongtaek Plant, the Gokseong Plant and the Gwangju Plant which includes the Kumho Research and Development center mentioned below. There are a further three plants in China: the Tianjin Plant, the Gaoxin Plant (in Nanjing) and the Changchun Plant. There is also one plant in Vietnam in the Binh Duong Province.

    • @4motionadventures934
      @4motionadventures934  ปีที่แล้ว

      Robert. Interesting you should ask that question. Whilst I have not taken any strict measurements I did find on my last trip to Sydney that fuel consumption was slightly up so there could be some affect with the larger tyres. Sorta makes sense really. Will keep an eye on it. Still having the extra height will be worth any slight increase economy that’s for sure.

      No I mean between the different tires.

    • @4motionadventures934
      @4motionadventures934  ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks Robert. I have only ever used the stock standard tyres that came with the van being cargo vectors and then the AT51 and now AT52. There has been an increase in fuel consumption I think between all three with the current tyres appearing to be less economical marginally.
