Story time: when I was in high school, my father was the intern nurse for a week during his clinicals. Him and my mom never believed our school was as bad as we always told them about. He joined me at lunch one of the days and told me how he got called to a fight that broke out between two girls and it was so bad, like the two would not stop trying to go at each other that they actually broke the gym teacher’s arm and the safety officer was forced to pepper spray them. My dad had to flush their eyes with milk from the cafeteria while they waited on the police to come get them and he said he couldn’t be a school nurse after that.
Worst part about that story is the gym teacher could have probably protected him/herself but would have been fired and arrested for assaulting minors which is kinda bullshit since some "Minors" are 6'3" 200+ lbs.

Speaking of bathroom problems, I remember being in 2nd or 3rd grade and my principal had a school-wide meeting about how you shouldn’t POKE YOUR HEAD UNDER THE STALL DOOR TO SEE IF ITS YOUR FRIEND
20:25 just an FYI, it is EXTREMELY rare for some with DID to have an alter that wants to hurt another person. Persecuters, the "evil" or "mean" alters, 9.5 times out of 10 want to harm themselves or other alters, not other people
@@pizzapartytime1826 I completely understand there are some situations where kids have a disability that can cause issues and usually they have an IEP and a safety plan to help address that
Loved the stories about fights. I went to a HS in MS...they had a 'no tolerance policy and would call the cops and you were arrested. Also, even if you didn't throw a punch you would be suspended...therefore, there were like 3 fights a year. This was a suburban school, IDK why they were so insane about it.
I had this same thing at my school. It was such a small town and district that elementary, middle and high school were all in the same building of course elementary was sectioned off but their only exception was those who had disabilities/mental health issues. They had their own classrooms and teachers, it was mostly to help them develop social skills and coping strategies, but they would sometimes be intertwined with all of the other kids and they would have their own teachers to help guide them. And Mrs.r mentioned the a kid who you can’t tell them what to do walking in the hall and she had no idea. These teachers were always around to accompany these children everywhere they went so things like this wouldn’t happen. And that’s another reason our policies were so affective. Except we had big drug issues but that’s a different story
@@alexshaw8167 It really didn’t work. But that’s also because they did not want students a.k.a. human beings to have any sort of emotion that wasn’t pleasant and perfect 24 seven. People would often have a fight in a bathroom instead of the commons area. And that meant that the fights were more vicious. I personally saw a girl grabbed by the back of the head and her head rammed into a hand dryer. As teachers we all have stories. I am an online only history teacher for K-12 and then I am also an adjunct history professor. I don't have a lot of issues with my k-12 kids. But I actually had college students rage and throw things and threaten me when I wouldn't extend a dead line for an obvious lie or I had already extended it 5 times. But still we teach because no matter what we love these kids
Just found out one of my best friends is Mr Williams cousin!!! I was watching some of your teaching shorts & this is the first time seeing the podcast. She got me watching his videos recently,& i LLLOOVVE him!!!
I remember in second grade there was this girl who went on a full on rampage flipped all the desks over spitting on our teacher throwing chairs. I remember we came back and the whole class was completely turned upside down. I’m 33 and still remember that.
Also, DID patients are almost never violent, DID arises from severe severe trauma and most suffers are severely withdrawn and afraid. The portrayal of violence in them in social media and movies is grossly wrong most of the time. Typically for someone w DID to be violent there is a co existing diagnosis causing it. that kid also portrayed more anti social personality disorder. Aka a sociopath. Or at least one of his personalities being anti social if he did really have DID.
My family called my younger sibling "honey badger" cause they would bite me or my parents whenever they got mad. They would be the complete opposite at school, just the kindest 3 year old ever.
Some of these "wild children" would benefit from trauma informed educators. As a foster mom I see many of these behaviors and know that addressing them through a trauma lense would dramatically change outcomes.
Right???? I teach the type of children you foster. It’s not pretty. It’s pretty ugly. But the moments of their successes, or a goal even if soooo tiny is met… and on the journey of achieving a goal…. Makes it WORTH the 90% tough stuff we encompass in my room. And my aides which to me are equals or even above me as the teacher are huge in the dedication. I’m currently w the 2 most incredible supports and when we celebrate for the kids…. That feeling is undesirable and we often have no words. ❤️❤️❤️❤️
Most kids are doing the best with what they have. Idk why people think shame, fear and guilt is a better motivator than respect, stability and firm but kind encouragement.
It concerns me that in middle school I don’t always feel safe. I want to feel safe in a learning environment. I honestly think that school districts could try to find a way to make us feel safer and less stressed. If the environment had less stress and tension would help with the anxiety and there might be less fighting.
I am from Germany, and I always thought that the "take your baby/pack of flour/egg" project was a made up thing from kids shows like Kim possible. It's so weird to me that that's really part of school for Americans...
I had to do it for 2nd year of high school. For my class it was a 10-pound flour bag and if you had twins they were 5 pounds. I had twins (one was named Kermit) and I had to make a sling from a curtain to carry them around campus. That's my experience and it was fine, but the knot on the makeshift sling did dig into my shoulder XD
y’all with the bags are lucky, i had one of the robot ones and that thing is a fucking demon. tip to any kids that have to do this. if you can set a quiet time, set it in the middle of the night. if your a heavy sleeper the cry might not wake you up unless the thing is like right next to you in bed. at least in my school it’s basically a psa to not get pregnant in high school.
I can't be the only one that absolutely loves the "Absolutely Not" of it all. It should be their merch. I'd buy a hoodie that said Absolutely Not with yalls logo on the back. I hear it from you guys all the time, and it's definitely a teacher thing, and I love it. Example: 34:30
I think you should do questions that people have about teachers and like what to do if so and so happens for people who want to become teachers. That would be awesome
I used to be a Pre-K teacher and I am in the middle of choosing between going to school for teaching or nursing. Love love love this podcast and appreciate you all ❤️!
I'd say go for teaching although we could use more nurses. There is definitely a burnout factor in both jobs. Depends what type of nurse you wanted to be. I was an EMT for a year and got burnt out myself. I have major respect for RN's working in the ER or Trauma Units.
I love this podcast. It brings back so many memories from being a student myself and is good to have inside knowledge for my son who is about to start school.
The story that mrs.wooly told about a kid throwing desks and chairs sounds exactly what happened to me in my second grade class the ptsd that I get from hearing that story is immaculate. 💀✋
So as a senior in high school, who is about to go to college to be a teacher, I adore these stories. They give me idea of what is to come when I'm a teacher and I'm honestly nervous but excited for it
I work in childcare and have had some crazy kids for sure. Thankfully this summer hasn't been too bad, but I've had kids who could flip full length tables when they were mad 😩
My wild childs were always the kids of gentle parenters. If they're in my classroom, they will learn to act in school and in public according to me whether you like it or not lol
One time our repair man at school left his mini chain saw unattended very stupid on his parent. Well a student stole it and they had to such all the backpacks until they found it in a kids backpack. Like what.
Lauren's story was my entire school (literally). I worked in a behavioral school for 3 years. Mind you I've worked in residential treatment and psych hospitals with kids and teens for many years before this school. This school made me quit education, it was so bad. It went from K-12. I worked with the 8th graders then I moved to 3rd grade. The 3rd graders were HORRIBLE. It was especially bad because the administration refused to move the worst kids (so they weren't all in one class). Nope. We had to have like 6 kids who would fight every single day and trigger everyone else in the class. It was a full shit show every day. The classroom would get torn up and book shelves went flying. And administration wouldn't suspend the students either and the parents were zero help. We kept saying this is causing our students trauma coming to school every day waiting for a blow out fight and is not helping our anxious kids. We got no support (except from the Psychiatrist and a hand full of the therapists). Believe me the day I resigned was the happiest of my life (even though as an educator we do really love our kids so that was bittersweet).
As a sub I have had to put myself between a student going off and the other students. It’s sad but as a sub you have to learn the schools that won’t come and support and help so you never have to go back.
That’s why special needs teachers are a different breed. My son has autism, and when he first started school at five he was just diagnosed because we had to sit in a waiting list for almost two years for the specialist. He was super aggressive, but also super cuddly. He just didn’t understand tolerating waiting and because he is nonverbal he just didn’t understand things, or how to communicate that. His teacher was amazing. This woman, who is a super close friend now, is barely five foot and she handles kids k-5 with autism and other neurological issues that can be very aggressive, and she never loses her temper or gives up on a kid. She deserves a freaking medal. I have so much respect for what she does.
27 years ago they had no problem breaking up fight. I was a teen who didn’t start the fight but defended my self. We got pulled off and escorted to the office. They did make sure that they could control the situation. I was not a small teen 5”8 170 so a male teacher grabbed me and had four teachers escort us to the office. We both suspended principal knew the other was the aggressive one but had no choice.
I am not a teacher but I love listening to you guys!! I would love to see an episode that can help parent talk to teacher. I am always having trouble talking to the teacher.
Some teachers are truly amazing. Shout out to my 3rd grade teacher who dealt with me learning I had ADHD and starting to take medicine that made me super impulsive and violent. Any teacher who recognizes that a students behavior is because of new medicine and takes them to get help rather than just punish them is a miracle. Even if it was because I threw a book at her head, which is completely deserving of being suspended
I have twin 6yr girls and they are constantly fighting and clobbering the crap out of each other. This started at like one, I had one that was a biter to get her way.
At my high school, there was this one kid who literally any time he was around would be breaking up any fight that broke out. He was literally the tallest person at the school (like, 6'4-6'5) and he was a football player so he was built and could easily break up the fights. No one tried to fight back against him either bc, apart from being a giant, he was also super well-liked by everyone at the school. It was crazy, often during lunch, to see a fight break out and him rushing from one end of the courtyard to the other just to break it up
I had a similar experience with the whole escaping the classroom thing due to another student when I was in second grade. I remember that it never went to the extent of us leaving the classroom because they didn't want it to "disrupt our learning" but it was pretty hard to learn when we were watching our classmate hit and scream at our old nun teacher. I even remember almost about 6 teachers and our principal being in charge of getting him to calm down from his rage. Us little second graders used to call them "the teacher squad" 😭😭
I teach in a sped SEL 4 & 5th grd contained class and these kids are usually the kids with behavior issues. I’m so used to being a class where desks get thrown shelves get cleared and where we have to clear the room. I’ve been bitten a few times and one time, this year actually, a student ran at me and I didn’t have enough time to brace myself and she knocked me into a lg file cabinet and I went down hard. I was fine but it definitely shook me.
As a preschool teacher I’m lucky at my current school that my students are just mean with words and nit hands but I taught older toddlers and had a couple wild childs that almost made me quit from constant stress and being hurt everyday. Including bites, scratches, hitting, and being kicked so hard in the sternum I got a cracked rib
One of my favorite teacher of all time was kind of like Bree. She was my 5th grade teacher and had come out of retirement to help out. She was probably 70+ years old at the time. We watched her catch a fly in mid-air and let it go out the window, but we also knew she was a practicing black belt. So when she would say in the calmest tone, "kid x and kid y, of you want to go home with all your ligaments attached I suggest you stop talking." We believed she could do it. But at the same time she was this nice, little old lady.
Accidents that happened at my school throughout the years: -A kid stapled another kids hand -two girls in pe we’re running and bumped into eachother knocking one girls tooth and in lodging it into the other girls forehead -had half my class out for the day bc they puked in class (literally in 2 hours half of my kinder class had each taken their turn puking) -had a kid in middle school fight another kid and slam his head into an open file cabinet causing him to bleed everywhere -someone fall from the stairs -someone jump 3 story flight of stairs -someone stand up on a table, yell, and then chug a can of cold beans on the second day of school -had fbi called on the school when the drill team had a lock in for the night -had a kid in hs get stabbed in the neck with a pencil over drugs and couldn’t speak for months -had my history teacher in hs get fired for saying racist comments -had a lockdown bc something in wood shop class exploded and everyone thought they were gonna die -a staff kid decided to microwave mac n cheese in class, forgot to add water, then had it catch on fire and made the whole class sit out watch fire trucks pull up to the school -someone brought a bullet to school and made weird off hand comments about harming people and didn’t think it was “that big of a deal” -one of our hs teachers accidentally sent a pic of her bruised butt to her class remind and later apologized saying she meant to send it to her doctor. -had a teacher shave her legs in class -a girl in 3rd grade fell off the monkey bars and broke her arm (bone sticking out) and all the students watched as my teacher had to carry both parts of her arm to get help. Yeah those are all the ones I remember, but there’s plenty more lol
(adult now) when i was in 2nd grade, we had a class project where we made a book that we got published and it is definitely a core memory now. It made me really proud to create something and see it as a good looking final product
I know that movie "Problem Child" It was wild, I literally thought of it when I read the description. I used to watch this movie and older movies on TV. That one had a second part, too.
Yes. As a daycare teacher, I get hurt by kids all the time, especially kids with behavior issues. We can't tell parents we think their kids needs certain kinds of help though. We can notify nad update about behavior in like the 2s and 3s rooms but that's it.
Them talking about some of their students hitting teachers when I would have NEVER hit any of my teachers from kindergarten to college, it baffles me the different struggles that teachers (and maybe students) are struggling with in current times….
Mr Williams sounds like an amazing Pre K teacher! My youngest son just graduated HS and oldest just graduated college, in fact Mr Williams probably isn't much older than him, but I wish he would have been their Pre K teacher. ❤️❤️❤️
Why I don't miss teaching AT ALL. I was a specialist and had all the kids in the elementary schools, sometimes including PreK. Student violence and disrespect was a constant at any grade level.
One time in like 5th grade recess this girl threw a ball at this boy and he was kinda a fighter like he would fight anyone but anyways he literally grabbed her by her ponytail and started swinging her around. It was crazy.
I used to work in nursery's, the way we would manage children misbehaving was to reinforce that the behaviour was naughty but never refer to the child as naughty
Related to Mrs. Rogers’ story about not being able to tell a student what to do… I was a building sub in a school where the music teacher got a severe concussion (not at work) 2 weeks after I started. As the music teacher, you get EVERY student in school, and the ones who are supposed to be “accompanied” actually will be about 50% of the time. A student came in 15 minutes late one day, stomping all over the room and ignoring my verbal redirection, so I approached him & gently touched his shoulder to get his attention. He blew up on me as a para finally came over to intervene. A couple of hours later, his case manager stormed in while I was teaching to confront me that his IEP said things that would have his mom up in arms, potentially trying to sue someone. HONESTLY??? I should have been shown IEPs & BIPs!!! Fortunately, she realized her mistake & apologized to me, but this was ridiculous. And we wonder why there’s such a shortage of subs…
I've worked as a 2/3 year old teacher for 10 years. The worst thing that happened to me was getting head butted right in the nose. Swollen nose, bloodshot eyes, and a concussion. 🥴
In elementary my classes were split classes meaning you had two grades in one class, like kinder and 1st in a class, 2 and 3, 4 and 5. So in in 2nd grade, this third grade kid told the teacher he was going to the bathroom and ran away from school. The rest of the day there were police officers asking kids from my class about him, and we just played on the playground the rest of the day. It turned out he had walked back to his house because “he was bored and wanted to watch tv” can’t explain how fun that afternoon was, besides the part where we had to talk to police officers and the fact that he ran away
In middle school, two guys in my grade got into a fist fight in front of the library and our poor old lady librarian ran over and locked the library shut. I was her assistant that class period and I was torn between fear and tears of laughter from her reaction.
It is good to have a reset room for students who can advocate for themselves to process cognitive techniques so they can get back to class with a fresh view. A corrective action plan/ community service/ goal tracking could help children who need to reconcile their misbehavior with punitive measures that have positive outcomes.
Yes! All this. My kids wouldnt be in any type of school setting where there wasn’t a reset or resource room they could go to rebalance their sensory overload and emotions.
There was a really bad fight in our school, and our math teacher LITERALLY JUMPED OVER DESKS YELLING "GET OUT OF THE WAY! MOVE OIT OF THE WAY!" just to stop the fight. Also the kids are like 7th and 8th grade boys so they're pretty big.
As a DID system, we dislike how and when you mentioned the one student is suspected of having DID since not a lot of people know it's caused by severe repeated trauma and it's more stigmatized that way but to those who are getting to see our comment, most systems are not dangerous and tend to go back into the abused/victim role in situations so it scares us to wonder how much trauma that kid/system must have gone through for that to be their reaction. And we mean the first half of our comment in a very respectful way, this is nothing against you guys we love y'all a lot!
Can you guys talk about Florida’s “Don’t say Gay” bill amendment? It would require schools in Florida to out students. I believe this would be a terrible bill to pass, and I want to hear your opinions. Also, this podcast is great!
Obviously you didn’t read the bill. Number one it’s not called they don’t say gay Bill. Number two nowhere in the Bill doesn’t say anything about teachers having to out students. It essentially blocks teachers from talking about sexual orientation up until the fourth grade. Maybe try learning to think for yourself and go in and read these bills instead of listening to CNN.
They were talking about how you can’t talk about sexualities and stuff AND they are trying or maybe did pass a genital inspection bill because of trans people in sports
The bill isn't even called "Don't Say Gay." The word "gay" isn't mentioned in the bill at all. I would recomed you read the entire thing before bashing it. The bill is to prohibit conversations related to sexual topics for children up until the third grade. The bill isn't coming after anyone, it is giving the parents control over when the discussion of sex is raised to their child. No child needs to have the conversation about sexuality until they are at least in fifth grade. Also, it is helping ensure there is a separtion of church and state. Many parents don't feel comfortable with ther child having sex related consersations in elementary school. In fact, such discussions are not supposed to be in schools in the first place. Schools are for children to learn their basic subjects-- math, science, social studies, and english-- and the rest is up to parents to educate their child.
My son use to sneak his cars in his pockets to school and then complain when they got lost, stolen or broken at school. Totally forgetting he wasn't suppose to bring them to school.
I am a retired RN an have been hurt by patients but heard this week that violent and physical patients have come out more this past year and nurses can’t not do anything to them.
As teachers, we have to be careful breaking up fights because if you break up a fight and the student is trying to get you, they can report you that you hurt them. It sucks because you don't want anyone getting hurt, but you can get into legal trouble if the child gets hurt from you trying to break up a fight. So unless you're an expert at breaking up fights and the school has your back, try not to break up fights and call admin to help. Hearing these wild child stories makes me think of the one I had where a 2nd grade girl was jabbing at her eraser. Her finger was next to the eraser and I guess after jabbing a few times, she missed the eraser and jabbed at her finger on accident. I was somewhere in the room helping kids with their math problems, so when I got 2-3 kids come up to me to tell me that the girl was bleeding from her finger. My first thought was "oh it's probably a papercut." I went to go check and she was gushing blood from her finger with lots of tears in her face. Everyone in the class were good students, so I ordered a student to go to another teacher to get a bandaid, and I had another one help wipe the blood and sanitize. Like I mentioned, I had good students, so I told them to wash their hands right after. Otherwise, I would do it myself because you don't want kids messing with blood. I was calm throughout the whole thing because you want students to know they can also stay calm in scary situations. She ended up being ok and after she stopped crying, she explained to me what happened. It was kind of bizarre because you don't imagine that kind of stuff happening in a classroom your 1st year of teaching.

20:25 just an FYI, it is EXTREMELY rare for some with DID to have an alter that wants to hurt another person. Persecuters, the "evil" or "mean" alters, 9.5 times out of 10 want to harm themselves or other alters, not other people
I am sorry students that are physically a threat to students or teachers should not be allowed in a public school setting.
There are some students who can’t control it. But I understand I agree.
@@pizzapartytime1826 I completely understand there are some situations where kids have a disability that can cause issues and usually they have an IEP and a safety plan to help address that
@@GwenMulholland ya this kid sounds like he has issues and somethings going on at home which is making it worse in my opinion.
@@GwenMulholland Absolutely!
Maybe because it worked
@@alexshaw8167 It really didn’t work. But that’s also because they did not want students a.k.a. human beings to have any sort of emotion that wasn’t pleasant and perfect 24 seven. People would often have a fight in a bathroom instead of the commons area. And that meant that the fights were more vicious. I personally saw a girl grabbed by the back of the head and her head rammed into a hand dryer. People are going to fight especially when they are minors why are you going to have them arrested and have a permanent record established?
Mine was the same way
@@rachelingrisano9055 I mean I’m never been in a fight because it’s not worth it. Just because I’m upset and mad doesn’t give me the right to punch someone which is illegal…
College?! Why are these adults acting worse than children
@@blandface9957 cause they are adults...
So true I hate it when they generalize a group calling them violent when you can't really categorize the mentally ill
Thank you so much ~ A DID system
I totally agree.
32 kids, they don't have that much time
@@KidCity1985 I'm not insinuating differentiated instruction, just a different perspective on behaviors.
I had an egg. We got to dress up the egg with yarn and stuff. I cracked the egg a tiny bit and covered it with yarn hair
I never did this at my school, so I guess it depends where you are.
y’all with the bags are lucky, i had one of the robot ones and that thing is a fucking demon. tip to any kids that have to do this. if you can set a quiet time, set it in the middle of the night. if your a heavy sleeper the cry might not wake you up unless the thing is like right next to you in bed. at least in my school it’s basically a psa to not get pregnant in high school.
I've actually never done that project so I guess it depends on the school you go to on whether you have to do it or not
Officially finishing bingeing this series. Can't wait for your next episode! Thank you all for your amazing work!
That baby story though 😲. I have so many questions. Was it fed? Was she changed? What happened to her after she was discovered?
Only my favorite podcast to start the day.
Yes you’re absolutely right no teacher has to undergo that sort of nonsense!
I love this podcast. It brings back so many memories from being a student myself and is good to have inside knowledge for my son who is about to start school.
I give all teachers credit for their patients. Their are days I can barely deal with my two children let alone a whole class.
Oh my gosh I didn’t know all of my favorite freaking teachers have a freaking podcast where you tell it as it is hell yes this just made my day
I love Mr. Williams’ little kid voice 😂
The story that mrs.wooly told about a kid throwing desks and chairs sounds exactly what happened to me in my second grade class the ptsd that I get from hearing that story is immaculate. 💀✋
I have so many stories as a daycare teacher. It's a fun job, but also so many wild children 😂😂
So as a senior in high school, who is about to go to college to be a teacher, I adore these stories. They give me idea of what is to come when I'm a teacher and I'm honestly nervous but excited for it
I'm not a student anymore, but I really want to go back and finish school and watching you guys really make me miss it 😢 😅
I work in childcare and have had some crazy kids for sure. Thankfully this summer hasn't been too bad, but I've had kids who could flip full length tables when they were mad 😩
Okay those were all wild stories but definitely going to be looking at my seat every time to make sure I don’t get impaled by a pencil.
It's so funny how each one of them has their grade of choice for teaching and the others could never imagine it - Like Bri with little ones 😂
this makes me respect teachers so much more. like i’m already a good student but this…
As a sub I have had to put myself between a student going off and the other students.
We had a student like that. Took five years for him to go someplace else.
As an 11th Grader I am obsessed with this podcast. It's my absolute favorite ❤
I just graduated 12th grade and I'm starting to love this podcast
Some teachers are truly amazing. Shout out to my 3rd grade teacher who dealt with me learning I had ADHD and starting to take medicine that made me super impulsive and violent. Any teacher who recognizes that a students behavior is because of new medicine and takes them to get help rather than just punish them is a miracle. Even if it was because I threw a book at her head, which is completely deserving of being suspended
As a mom to a pair of three and four year old little girls, I can confirm, without a doubt- fist fights are our biggest problem 🤣
I have twin 6yr girls and they are constantly fighting and clobbering the crap out of each other. This started at like one, I had one that was a biter to get her way.
My government teacher told us when he was a student teacher at his old school said one student tried to stab him when he was sitting at his desk
8:07 "WHAT'S IN THE BOX?!"
Love this podcast! Also my Pre-K kids love doing the student treasures books, we've done them a few times
I love this podcast so much even as a 7th grader
I am a student and my mom and dad are both teachers so I love this podcast
One of my favorite teacher of all time was kind of like Bree. She was my 5th grade teacher and had come out of retirement to help out. She was probably 70+ years old at the time. We watched her catch a fly in mid-air and let it go out the window, but we also knew she was a practicing black belt. So when she would say in the calmest tone, "kid x and kid y, of you want to go home with all your ligaments attached I suggest you stop talking." We believed she could do it. But at the same time she was this nice, little old lady.
Accidents that happened at my school throughout the years:
-A kid stapled another kids hand
-two girls in pe we’re running and bumped into eachother knocking one girls tooth and in lodging it into the other girls forehead
-had half my class out for the day bc they puked in class (literally in 2 hours half of my kinder class had each taken their turn puking)
-had a kid in middle school fight another kid and slam his head into an open file cabinet causing him to bleed everywhere
-someone fall from the stairs
-someone jump 3 story flight of stairs
-someone stand up on a table, yell, and then chug a can of cold beans on the second day of school
-had fbi called on the school when the drill team had a lock in for the night
-had a kid in hs get stabbed in the neck with a pencil over drugs and couldn’t speak for months
-had my history teacher in hs get fired for saying racist comments
-had a lockdown bc something in wood shop class exploded and everyone thought they were gonna die
-a staff kid decided to microwave mac n cheese in class, forgot to add water, then had it catch on fire and made the whole class sit out watch fire trucks pull up to the school
-someone brought a bullet to school and made weird off hand comments about harming people and didn’t think it was “that big of a deal”
-one of our hs teachers accidentally sent a pic of her bruised butt to her class remind and later apologized saying she meant to send it to her doctor.
-had a teacher shave her legs in class
-a girl in 3rd grade fell off the monkey bars and broke her arm (bone sticking out) and all the students watched as my teacher had to carry both parts of her arm to get help.
Yeah those are all the ones I remember, but there’s plenty more lol
Shaving her legs in class? 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 was there a sink?
(adult now) when i was in 2nd grade, we had a class project where we made a book that we got published and it is definitely a core memory now. It made me really proud to create something and see it as a good looking final product
Love yall!
Kid with the bag was push over Patterson 😂😂💀 IYKYK
Literally loveeee you guys for all you guys do ! You guys don’t get paid enough at all! 💕💕💕 “the real hero’s”
Dang and I thought I delt with crazy classmates.
Half the kids I work either either have the backpacks empty or full of toys..like excuse me your going to school!!! 😂
Why I don't miss teaching AT ALL. I was a specialist and had all the kids in the elementary schools, sometimes including PreK. Student violence and disrespect was a constant at any grade level.
Love this podcast
One of my teachers said that if she ever needed to break up a fight, she’d spray them with the fire extinguisher
I could never imagine Rebecca yelling at her kids
There was a really bad fight in our school, and our math teacher LITERALLY JUMPED OVER DESKS YELLING "GET OUT OF THE WAY! MOVE OIT OF THE WAY!" just to stop the fight. Also the kids are like 7th and 8th grade boys so they're pretty big.
YOU CANT JUST END LIKE THAT
I need a compilation of Mr. Williams different ways to say poop
Problem child... lord, that's a throw back
Can you guys talk about Florida’s “Don’t say Gay” bill amendment? It would require schools in Florida to out students. I believe this would be a terrible bill to pass, and I want to hear your opinions. Also, this podcast is great!
Obviously you didn’t read the bill. Number one it’s not called they don’t say gay Bill. Number two nowhere in the Bill doesn’t say anything about teachers having to out students. It essentially blocks teachers from talking about sexual orientation up until the fourth grade. Maybe try learning to think for yourself and go in and read these bills instead of listening to CNN.
I hope they address it
They were talking about how you can’t talk about sexualities and stuff AND they are trying or maybe did pass a genital inspection bill because of trans people in sports
@@sarahs3997 it makes me happy that u took the time to explain this comment without being rude. Its very important to have people like u
My son use to sneak his cars in his pockets to school and then complain when they got lost, stolen or broken at school. Totally forgetting he wasn't suppose to bring them to school.
I was a tantrum prone child and I honestly wish there was an adult that I could trust and actually talk to. That was over 20 years ago but still
This podcast is really underrated!! 🎙🎙🎙💚💚💚💯💯
My grandmother works in a cdc room and she has the wildest stories.
Student treasures is awesome! My class LOVED it!
For the sponsor we did this in 2004 in my 4th grade class. I still have the book of poetry lol. I haven’t looked at it in a while though
I just got your show and I’m obsessed!!! You guys are all to funny I love it!!
