Everything I have found documented on the forums regarding antenna base replacement has shown a LOT more stuff coming out (C pillar trim, roof handles, dome light, rear door gaskets) or even the entire headliner. Thanks for showing it can be done with a lot less work than that (assuming thin enough hands, anyway). Now that you have had it in for a while, what's your experience like with FM radio reception?
Thanks for watching it, I'm glad you liked it! As for the radio reception, it's pretty poor, but I think this is due to me not having the correct connector. In the video the connectors are different and there are adapters that you can get to make them fit properly. As I do not listen to the radio it's not necessary for me, I just wanted to replace my worn put stock antenna.
@@RTHMedia Nice video. It's possible that the sharkfin aerials have a different resistive load value or should be used in conjunction with matcher/booster amplifiers. I was considering upgrading the my cars back window antenna to a sharkfin also.
Where would I find an adapter? And what words do I use to search for it? I bought a antenna base from parts geek and the one they sent has the same plug as your fin and it’s also to short to reach my antenna plug on the car
I just received the same fin that you installed. I don’t get any more stations than before with the broken antenna. In fact, when the antenna is unplugged completely I still get the same few stations. Why is that?

Hi mate, not exactly sure which arial it is but it has the ECS tuning logo on it so I guess you'll find it on their site if they still supply it. Google search ECS Tuning and they should come up.

you can just release the purple clip on the FAKRA connector and swap over very easy do your research first
