2019 UPDATE: So it's been two years, and the antenna is still just as stuck on as it was on day one! No, I didn't expect this to last this long but I was pleasantly surprised. The radio (along with digital / DAB) still works perfectly fine. Hope this helps anyone watching this video now! And if you want, subscribe or check out my other videos :) See ya
Thanks for that. I am thinking of fitting on to the Caravan as the normal antenna gets pushed around to much when I put the cover on ...Hope my idea works
@@monkeyzoff548 you still have to detach your whole other antenna and screw this one on just to test. Was just wondering if he meant something quicker. But for anyone wondering, they have shit connection. I don't really care since I never use radio.
Sick thanks mate. My 08 lancer antenna practically melted from the sun. So I needed a new fix for it. The radio still works perfectly fine. I just needed a new cover or antenna thing. So this looks pretty good and easy to do. Cheers!
I recently installed one from ebay like this one onto a 2008 Honda Cr-v USA market. it was tricky i had to peel down the headliner, loosen the nut to the existing base , connected the wire then installed it carefully with the base inside it slid it around so its under the base then tightened the nut to the base i did not use the supplied tape i used sealant. and i sprayed the antenna element with wd40 to assure long life. here in the northeast use so it can survive the extreme cold temps, snow, and summer heat. as the shark fin installations are best suited for vehicles with a rear hatch, or tailgate depending which shark fin you get. as some bases it has to be loosened and lifted before the shark fin can be installed. as you have to get the right shark fin depending on some vehicles and how big the antenna base is. which can combine satellite radio or navigation.
@@leighanneh3559 goo gun? Do you mean hairdryer. I just bought one and im about to install it. Just wondering how do I remove it if needs be in the future?
I used gorilla glue to fix mines that came off while knocking off snow. I used a towel and sponge to absorb all of the snow/water. Works like a charm. The only thing with my car the shark fin is stand alone the antenna part is installed to the hood of the car so no wiring was needed.
Hi Mitch. From the other side of the Pond - Vince Smith from Dumfries, Scotland. I appreciated your video. However, I had to find out the hard way, that if you have a car (in my case a 2010 Citroen C4 Grand Picasso VTR) - that has a longer base than other cars, you have to break out the white crescent part at the front of of the shark fin case, because otherwise it will not be able to fit over the base,=. The original cavity is too short for these longer bases. I don't remember you mentioning this possibility, but I worked it out after some trial and error. Ta just the same. Vince
yours is better than mine. more 3M adhesive and the soldering is thicker, not fair! it came from China inless than 10 days, free shipping! crazy fast. in plastic, no box. somehow it survived.
The adhesive tape is not 3M, it's "M33", which is a cheap Chinese brand (convenient how the chose the number "3" & letter "M" for their product). Anyway, I don't expect it will adhere very long especially in the heat & humidity of northern NT, but good luck!
Can you help me I just want to know where you got this as I bough one of eBay and it’s too small , basically I want the same one as it just goes straight over what holds the original antenna , I’d appreciate it if you have time
Anybody who has ever installed anything with 3M tape knows it aint coming off!! No hair dryer needed!! I will say I don't understand why you wouldn't screw the antenna on 1st and test it. I would even drive around and test before I permanently stuck it on because once you stick that badboy on that's it.
It is so tiny,. what is inside that makes it as good as a long one? doesn;t height and length [ surface area] have some benefit, if not, why don't all manufacturers fit them new.
I had to personally since the roof of my Corolla Ts is not convexed it's flat. Some clear sealant works but you will want to cut a real small nozzle and have good clean wiping cloths to tidy the excess.
Juan Camacho ebay! It's a generic one, and the listing has since been removed. It was about $10 I think.. super cheap. Look up your car and shark fin, it should come up!

People don't seem to realize how strong 3m acrylic foam adhesive is. Installed in the right way you won't be able to get the antenna of with your hands.
i saw another guy installing one of these, no prep what so ever, it was like he was sitting in his kitchen going, "i´m bored, i´m gonna make a youtube video" he must have just taken his phone and the antenna on impulse and just started shooting, he takes a rag and "cleans" the aria, dude could have used sand paper just the same, by the sound of it, i cringed when i watched/heard it. slaps it on, no heat prep, fucks it all up in the end and has to remove and modify. aaaa some people :-D
