Haha, I swear to this day that is one of the biggest trolls in anime history! Also that fight is literally peak! More movement than Blue Lock this season for sure!
Katanagatari has my favorite battle OST (Bahasa Palus) and catchphrase of all time! It's so peak that by the time the song is finished, I will have been torn into pieces! Cheerio everyone!
the video i waited for dropped right when my phone stops working, luckily my laptop is working. I enjoyed this anime back in February of 2020, the story's themes didnt stick with me then or i didnt understand how it was being said but it was a really interesting way to have a story in Feudal Japan be about. that Sabi Hakuhei episode still pisses me off to this day highkey, but I liked that Shichika was free to live how he wanted at the end. also Hitei living and being friendly with what was essentially Togame's revenge incarnate is a little weird, take all of Togame's pain, double it and pass it on to Hitei. loved the vid, 2010s anime were pretty varied, still some tropey shows but the ones that are good are really good.
Oh man finally. I was looking for this anime for years after seeing a brief review of it years ago. I wanted to see it for myself, but I forgot the name of it. Thank you for finally reminding me the actual name. Katangatari.
Man, I wish more anime looked as good as this. Bland art so common in anime/manga. The story is great too, which is quite a surprise considering the author's... other work.
Katanagari's 12 episodes were all like 50 minutes long, it was fully anime original, and they were released monthly instead of weekly. Nobody else has dared to do something like that again.
Katanagatari... you need to watch the previews for the next episode. the Sabi Hakuhei fight is legendary.

Not original, based off a light novel that released in the same way (12 volumes, 1 per month over a year)
0:23 which anime is this?
Divine Gate (2016)
Is oshi no ko's "tokyo blade" inspired in any way by katana-gatari?
@@amgdeg4897 personally, I would say no though the Tokyo Blade play does have some similar plot moments
