Awesome results! I think I’m more excited about the good looking images from old Kodachrome 25 than by the new Mark II scanning for this time around. Someday soon the magic of the web will enable facial recognition to the point that the people in these films will find themselves in them and mysteries will be solved! Great as always sir!
Thanks, Mike! I was honestly shocked when I saw the images. I never thought about facial recognition. With the right resolution, that might not be completely unattainable. 🤔
Looking great on my cell phone. I wonder why the gate extends into the sprocket holes. It's almost one sided Ultra 16. I'm pretty sure the camera model (Kodak? Revere?) can be determined, by its "signature gate". Glad you included the left side of the image in the scan.
Thanks, Christian! I was a little surprised about the frame width myself, definitely a trademark of a certain camera (not sure which). I looked at different crops but couldn't bring myself to not include that much footage inside the perfs.
Mike Mike Mike Mike Mike! I have a found 🎞️! I’m emailing you! I also loved the station wagon, lol. And the girl sitting at the table in a tshirt towards the end looked like she could have been from yesterday. Some “fashion” never changes. ❤
KD!! Just saw your email, getting back to you now :) Yes, I actually wondered about the girl at the end. I wondered if this magazine ended up sitting for a few years, then picked up and finished. This stuff is all so fascinating to me.
When you have a chance as this is the third time I'm writing this, must not like the TH-cam links to the video I added. PBS Nova, look for the video " Hindenburg the new evidence " you will not be disappointed. The short, They bring new found developed film that was filmed at a different angle from the press that were all situated in one place to an archivist. They go into the camera used and the film properties, very good documentary. 😄 One additional note it's located on the Nova PBS Official Channel, run time is 53:13 just so you watch the correct video.
I've seen that video before and you're right, it's fascinating! Thank you for sharing. I had to block links from any chat due to increasing bot spam :(
Hey there, it's a great scanner and I'm very satisfied with it (I used the Mark I for years). I don't think he's taking new orders for them currently, as he got a bit behind and is currently playing catch up.
That kid without a shirt probably looked a lot like you did back then. Even today there's an uncanny resemblance. I've found a bunch of these 16mm cartridges. Unfortunately when I bought them I didn't know how to tell if they were exposed (none were). Nice scan and find!
Definitely shoot it outdoors on a sunny day and I'd overexpose it by a minimum of 3 stops. Probably around ISO 3-6. You may end up just having to open your lens all the way up.

Once again. Fascinating!
Thanks so much, David!!
Wonderful film! Mike, love this series! Thanks for sharing! Great content as always!
Thanks so much, Jeffrey!!
Well that took the wedding videographer a while to deliver! I hope the people involved find this video. (You have more saves than Jeff Reardon.)
😂😂...but Jeff looked sooo much cooler doing it!
Great results,especially for Kodachrome.
Thanks, Barry! I really was surprised by these results.

Amazing results, congrats! Recently we have been shooting a doc using these 16mm cartridges.
Thank you, Ivan! I love these old 16mm magazines. I just loaded and shot one a couple days ago!

That looked like it would have been an interesting wedding to be at.
😂😂 You're not kidding!

Hey I am thinking about purchasing one of those 4K Mark-II Movietuff Scanners. Do you like yours. Would you recommend it?

Thanks, Dale and sadly, yes, I had the feathered hair and all, albeit mine was a bit darker then 😂.
Looks great. 👍 does your new scanner do 35? I have been eyeing an eyemo 😀
Thanks! Yes, my scanner does 35mm, though it's a bit of a learning curve for me. I have a ways to go to get the hang of it 😃
Mike I bought a cart of Kodachrome 25 16mm expired in 1976. How many stops do I overexpose?

@@Filmboy24 did you get the two carts I sent on Monday ?
@@oldradiosnphonographs I did, I'll email you.
Were you hiding something to the right of the frame? 😂Just kidding, great video as always!
😂😂 A secret dungeon!! Thanks, Mola!
A stash of Aerochrome and Arriflex 35 BLs 😄
