That is frustrating. Either a) find one that’s more adjustable so that you can tie it around your actual waist, b) get the shoulders taken up but that can be expensive, or c) get it to flare out as much as you can at the bottom to give the illusion that it’s hitting your waist

So what do you do with a belted coat when the belt loops hit you around the hip versus at your waist? It’s so frustrating!
